Thank you so much for the compliments on the darker hair! 🥰🥰Unfortunately I've developed an allergy to hair dye, so I'll never be able to go darker again. The only thing I can do now is foil highlights (because it's bleach and not dye and they're in foils so it doesn't touch my scalp). Also, I've been getting some questions on my sweater, it's from Primark and I got it 7-8 years ago. I mentioned towards the end of this video, it's actually the sweater I wore in my very first video EVER on this channel in October of 2017. I kept it all these years and apparently it's trendy again, haha! 💜💜💜 Edited to add...my nail polish is Cardigan from Olive and June.
I think your hair looks beautiful but would going natural be an option to consider? In my case, too many highlights caused breakage for me and then covid caused half my hair to fall out, so I'm stuck with a medium cool brown that is quite aging and drab on me at 64. I think as we age lighter colours generarally look better and less harsh. Despite my dark hair I'm working to make it as healthy as possible. I've been using the loreal glycolic line - oh my gosh, game changer. Wearing it up helps too. Just wondering about your thoughts.
@@lstone3633my natural hair color is also very drab and ashy and I have a lot of gray now so I find that the lighter color helps to kind of "hide" those and blend them for now. 🥰
Thanks for letting us know that the Revlon lipsticks have no scent. I've been reluctant to buy drugstore lipsticks because I didn't know which ones were scent free. Really helpful information!
I think you'll really enjoy the Revlon lippies. There are a lot of pretty shades, including more retro/classic shades that take you back. The price is right, too!
Jen, please do a video about discontinued products you wish the brand would bring back! Then we can all lament the awesomeness that is no longer in the comments together.
Yes to the Revlon lipsticks! The shade berry rich is my favorite out of the handful I have. On my fair, cool toned skin it leans red and is very wearable.
I shouldn't be surprised that so many of your favourites are mine too. That essence goldy cassis blush is still my favourite out of the many I own. Thank you for all the great recommendations and congratulations on your you tube anniversary. It's been great to see you grow and blossom in confidence each year. Love from Canada❤
Jen, I mean you were no doubt beautiful back then, but..... how on earth did you become even more stunning?! It's amazing what the right hair colour can do.. and I know you take great care of it as well. Thanks for the great video! :)
I just bought the stone cold Fox from Ulta and I have been loving using it I've used it three days in a row!!!! I typically don't like large palettes but I love this one! I highly recommend it!
The L’Oréal infallible bronzers and blushes are an amazing formula! Very high end soft velvety texture that is so smoothing and makes your skin look so flawless!! Loreal really does put out some amazing quality products! After all they do own Lancôme and lots of other big brand names
You are absolutely right about the NYX butter melt bronzer…I purchased it after your recommendation and I just love it so much! It’s the best drugstore product that I bought in the last few years! Thank you !
Hi Jen! Love your videos about drugstore! I just wanted to tell you I went to a grocery store the other day (northern europe) and got a MUA lipstick that you mentioned in a video quite some time back now. I saw them and remembered you loved them. It has such a nice texture and smell and the buildable pigment is perfect. You're one of the few who's recommendations actually work out for me!
Aw I'm so happy to hear that...yay!! I miss that brand so much. They used to ship to the US from the UK but for some reason they stopped. They had great stuff!
@@JenPhelpsthere are some professional ones that may be coming out soon that are "antibacterial" or "allergen free" but not yet for sale for public use, that I know of.
@@jennbeth1 it is! It was the first thing I purchased right after finding Jen’s channel, and I haven’t had a product fail me yet that was first reviewed by Jen.
I picked up a Lifter Liner in Line Leader this weekend off your recommendation in another video and I LOVE it!! It is so, so creamy and comfortable. I am going to have to go back for more shades. Thank you!!
Drugstore makeup is my favorite! I don’t feel so bad about trying new things. If something doesn’t work, I’m out $10-$15 instead of $30-$40. Thank you Jen! The sweater is stunning on you ❤
I also like the Elf extensions mascara, mine is still new and a little on the wetter side, I think it will only get better as it dries a bit. The Maybelline lifter liners are AMAZING! I always test lip liners in my hand first to see if they set and stay, and these ones do!!! They are so creamy, go on a like a dream, and they stay!!! They are better than any high end ones I own!!! And the colours are perfect for me! ❤
I've had a problem with the opening of my mascara, having the plastic part that wipes the wand, popping off and getting stuck in the lid. So frustrating, but I do really like it otherwise
Jen I think it’s your personality that keeps me coming back here because we have opposite skin types 😂 I have oily skin so we need different things but I just keep coming back here 🎉
Yay! I was hoping there was going to be a Jen video today. It’s cold and damp out there today and I’m curled up with a warm blanket. My favorite kinda down day ❤
“It’s a Mood” is my ride or die palette (Colourpop)..when I’m not feeling really creative, I’ll reach for that and those shadows hit it out of the park every time! 👍Really appreciate your hard work..so much work for you but so much fun to watch for us💞🌟
Happy Anniversary! 😅🎉 This was a great idea. You should make this your annual Anniversary Edition. BTW, I decided to take a gamble and try the L'oreal primer from an Amazon store. It's really nice. I also like the Flower Beauty foaming primer in the purple can. Not able to find this one either. I'm going to peruse your past videos for suggestions. Take care and thanks for posting such informative and descriptive reviews. PS - you look pretty as a brunette too QT!
Thank you so much dear! This was quite comprehensive so I'm saving it. My kitty seems to be slowly failing--she is barely eating the last 4 days. Your videos cheer me up and pull me out of sadness for a little while.
Great video! Sometimes a brand will be on sale and I’m not sure what its best products are, so this helps! You come up with content that is relevant and useful. ❤
Aw thank you! I mentioned it towards the end of the video...it's actually the sweater I wore in my very first video ever (7 years ago this month!) and it's from Primark. :)
Thank you Jen for sharing a fun video 😊 I use several skin care products from Neutrogena - the cosmetics aren't available here in Canada 😞 I have tried the Moisture Smooth color stick in the shade Soft Raspberry... it's a pretty shade these lipsticks are smooth and very hydrating on the lips . The Essence and Almay cosmetics are my favorites that I use often too. Take care everyone 🌹
Jen, you look amazing. I started using Cover Girl Powder as a foundation because of your recommendation. I love the way it looks on my 52 year old skin. I really enjoy these videos.
Just have to say that I love your video topics - you always find a way to put a cute little spin on something that just elevates the video that much more. You have a really insightful perspective on what will be interesting to us as viewers - you were born to be a makeup RU-vidr!!
Oh this was awesome! So, so many fantastic products. I love nyx brow pen, merlot moment, & stone cold fox; so we must be besties! 😊 Thank you for being here for me !
I’ve been watching you for a few years now and I swear you look younger than ever! You have a beautiful glow! I love your videos and trust your opinion the most-we have similar skin.
I agree with NYX lift n snatch brow (color taupe) also love their micro brow pencil ; the Maybelline Lifter Liners, the Loreal bronzer; Revlon lipsticks; and the Milani cream blush! Im going to try the Almay powder blushes
Not at all! Most talc is perfectly fine, there's a lot of fear-mongering out there about it. The reputable brands get it from sources that are free of asbestos. The trouble is mostly when you buy from a brand (like Claire's or another super cheap makeup supplier) that doesn't do their due diligence when it comes to talc. :)
@@JenPhelps I’m so glad you said that - awhile back I threw out so many products because of it and now I regret it - Thank you so much - I highly value your opinion - you definitely do your homework!
Your hair truly looks beautiful! Woo hoo.....can't wait to hear all of your drugstore favorites! My wallet thanks you so much! Can't wait and thank you!
I love the Maybelline Lifter Gloss and am excited to try the liner! I can't wait to do a gloss/liner combo once I shade match the liners with the glosses Petal and Ruby. I no longer buy Colourpop for reasons I won't drag out here, but their formula is so good, and I'm for sure using up my current palettes so as not to waste good product I paid for. I use the Milani eyeshadow primer, and that really helps keep everything in place.
Thanks, really enjoy these videos. Sad about Flower beauty, I bought an early, early eyeshadow called Wanderlust, when they first came out in Ulta, and the colors and texture were so beautiful. Also the only drugstore lipstick I buy is Revlon because I don't like the scent in the others, especially Loreal. Appreciate your mentioning the scents!
OMG , Jen I bought 80% of these products because of you and now I'm on my way to buy the Impossible stick primer and the cover girl powder so it'll be 100% 😅 I've been following you because we're about the same age and I've convinced my older sister as well to follow you. Thank you for the honesty and for the inspiration. Keep shining 🌟
Hi as along time viewer so happy you are doing this video....what is so amazing is so many of your favorites are still products you are enjoying along with their newer launches too!..Me Too!
Thank you for sharing your picks with us. I have bought a few makeup products upon your recommendations and love them. You definitely know your stuff 😊
Can we talk about brunette Jen? Wowza! Looks very sultry, sexy and sophisticated but I am partial to brunettes. But I will say the strawberry blonde, it’s so very youthful on you Jen. So I guess as we get older our hair gets lighter bc it has a youthful energetic effect. Great video! Enjoyed it on a lazy Sunday afternoon. TY!!
This series was new to me, but what a great idea! Thanks for sharing the three years ago favorite and your current favorite. Here are my picks: Elf- Holy Hydration Melting Balm & Stay All Night Setting Mist (green) L’Oreal- True Match powder & Voluminous mascara Covergirl- Clean Fresh Yummy lip gloss (probably stickier than your preference) Milani- eyeshadow primer & baked blush Colourpop eyeshadow- Nude Mood, That’s Taupe, & Deja Brew Maybelline- vanilla eyeshadow single, Lifter gloss, & Superstay Ink Crayon.
Hi Jen, great video. How about doing a video on your best shade? Maybe a GRWM video with showing your best shade of blush, lip color, foundation, etc. if the shades themselves don’t all work in harmony, then their runner-up.
Jen, you always look beautiful, but the last few videos you look especially so. You are just glowing. Thanks again for your continued high quality videos.
Colourpop is one of my favorites also Jen. I have most of their large palettes, blush and other products. I've used Revlon, Maybelline and Loreal for a very long time and I like them all so much. Good to be reminded of brands I've heard of but forgot about Jen. Thank you so much Jen for a wonderful video and it is helpful and very enjoyable.❤💜🙏🌹🌺💐🌸
Did I miss Profusion? What do you like from the Ulta brand of makeup? I guess they would be considered on the drug store side. Great video, Jen! I’m always wondering what’s good at the drugstore whenever they have sales.
Oh wow I forgot about both of those brands! Profusion doesn't seem to be sold in stores anymore...my Walmart no longer carries it so I totally forgot about them. Ulta brand has nice blushes and of course their Complexion Crush foundation is one that I've mentioned a lot on my channel...it's a gorgeous finish! Also their eyeshadow primer is really good.
LOVE THIS ❤ I have to agree with the other commenters here about your darker hair, looking Absolutely Gorgeous on you❤ This was really interesting. I have one of those face palettes from PF, but it was the Dream Team one, and I still really enjoy that one. I'm a bit sad about Flower beauty. 😢 I bought their newer shimmer palette over the summer, called Coastal, but it was on Ulta's site. I really hope they don't fade away. Recently I bought that black lip oil from Milani, and LOVING it for Fall so far! I also bought their new primer, and the shade Nylon, in their color fetish balm formula, and really enjoying both!! I can actually wear a "rum raisin" color, without it making my chronically dry lips, drier 😂 And the primer is Amazing too, very smoothing ❤
