Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time RU-vidr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. On my channel you'll find lots of videos about drugstore makeup and drugstore dupes (those are my favorites to film!) but I also review high-end makeup as well. "My name is Alice" is the story that happened to me. My husband and I worked in the house another eight months before we sold it, and it was the warmest most welcoming home from that day forward. We'd purchased it from the son in a family that had lived there for 40 years and everything down to the wallpaper was original from 1849, including the furniture. But no one had lived in it for over 15 years, and it was like a horror movie. It was crumbling, dark and scary. Kids had broken out all of the windows and people in the town told scary stories about it. Once I heard "my name is Alice" the feeling in the house totally changed, and I swear it was light and bright in there even on the cloudiest day. The rooms shimmered with light. My husband also felt the warmth and marveled at the light. I'd often just sit on the interior staircase and soak in the warmth. I'd suffered from severe depression all of my life and I'm not kidding when I say that Alice healed me.

LOVED! I would listen to more stories for sure!! I lost my service dog (type 1 diabetes) to old age, I tried to keep him no matter what, "I'll carry you around, whatever it takes." He saved me so many times, but he was in pain, and couldn't walk anymore, I brought our lab outside so he could potty for weeks to watch him fall...This was for me, he was miserable, holding on for me, this is selfish. So I made the call and slept on the floor with him one more night. I told him I will hurt forever, held him, and thanked him a thousand times for everything he had done for me until it was time to go. I held his paw, and it went limp..I drew my hand back and looked away. I watched him go. It was a ghost-like wind? But I could see his outline and he was running, like he was young again..from one corner of the room around me then gone it, just there and gone in a blink of an eye. I wish I knew what he was running to, whatever it was felt joyful. I thanked him one more time for letting me see him run again.

The first story was from me. I literally broke out in a sweat listening to you read it, hearing it out loud brought it all back. . You're such a good story teller. Your one about you at your house when you were young was super creepy. I can imagine how scary it would have been with the darkness of the woods. Loved all the stories, I hope there's a part 2!!😱👻🎃💚

So funny you said you grew up catholic because from the first story I wanted to ask how many people who gave their stories were catholic. My ex mother in law was catholic and my aunt and my cousins of course were and they All have stories. I believe all of their stories and have wondered if catholics are touched in some way...❤

Hmm I wonder! My mother in law had an aunt who could actually see spirits all around her...mostly good but toward the end of her life she saw more of the bad ones. Her kids took her to see doctors because they were worried about the fact that she always said she saw spirits but they didn't find anything wrong with her. She was a devout Catholic also.

Angels came and pulled me into the living room when my dad was passing.. as soon as I was pulled in he took his last breath.. it was a consoling experience not a bad one! I’ll never forget that! I believe in angels!

I 100% believe every story that Jen told about her own experiences. She lives in the oldest area of the country (in terms of settlement) so I have NO DOUBT that there are just ghosts all around all of the time... Spooky.

Sorry, I am going to have to pass on this for now. I am in the Middle of Hurricane Milton and THAT is scary enough. We are safe and for now we still have a home and power. Many, many others are not so lucky. It has been a day of tornado after tornado and now we are under a flood advisory too. We are unsure of the condition of our home right now as my husband's job requires him to work until Friday night. It is a very secure building with backup power so I went with him. He didn't want me home alone. I am very glad I went. We know the house is still there because our weather station is still transmitting, requiring power and wifi. I'll watch later. I've really been looking forward to this episode. If you were going for extreme fear, your timing is impeccable!

I'm so sorry you're going through that and I'm glad you decided to go with your husband! I've been glued to the TV and praying for everyone in Florida. 🙏 After what happened in North Carolina (my brother-in-law lived in Asheville for over 20 years) Milton is like a gut punch. These disasters seem to be happening more and more frequently. I really hope your home is okay and that everything is restored quickly. I know how horrifying hurricanes can be, I remember during Superstorm Sandy, I sat on the floor of my downstairs bathroom all night (the only room without windows) listening to the trees coming down and the wind shaking the house. We had no power for almost 2 weeks, it was awful. I pray that Florida is more prepared and will able to get everyone up and running quickly! ❤️

@@JenPhelpsFirst, thanks for the support from everyone. I am home. Hubs McGubbs is still working. Our house is ok and we have power. The yard is completely flooded and we lost most of our fencing. And by that I am mean some of it is just gone . The rest is strewn about the yard. Many trees down. We were very very lucky. The neighborhood across the street did not fare nearly as well. I am going to see what I can do to help. Again, thank you all. ❤ I thought you may like an update.

An ex boyfriend once told me if he died before me, he would haunt me. Unfortunately, a few years later after both of us had moved on he was murdered. Then years later, I was washing dishes, there was a window in front of the sink and out of my peripheral vision I saw someone walk behind me and I also felt a cold breeze as the shadow passed me. I looked around the corner to see if it might have been someone who also lived in the house. It wasn’t, I was home alone with my kids who were sleeping at the time. I immediately thought of what my ex boyfriend had said about haunting me. That was the one and only time I’ve ever experienced anything like that but I will never forget it.

I really enjoyed this, Jen. You have a wonderful quality when you read them. I felt like I was in the story you told. And believe me, I really didn’t want to t to be in them as they totally scared me. If you have more stories, I would love to hear them. (I am Catholic too) and believe in God and Jesus but there are things that cannot be explained. I also believe that God sometimes sends Angels and our deceased loved ones to comfort us. 🙏😇❤

I really enjoyed the stories. I have many but the one that stands out but to me it's particularly spooky. My stepdaughter passed away several years ago during the 4th of July weekend. Me and my husband went to attend the funeral services and burial. The next day we went to the grave site one more time to visit. We lived several hundred miles away so we didn't know when or if we'd ever get to visit again. I was sitting in the car waiting on my husband when I glanced at my phone. My stepdaughters contact information was opened. I wasn't doing anything with my phone but holding it. It gave me a weird yet peaceful feeling. I think she was saying goodbye to me.

I loved this so much! It's one of my favorite videos that you do! It's fun, different, interesting - and always distracts me from getting ready! (I don't think about your make up or my own! Loll!) Hi Jen, loved this even though I couldn’t watch at night, when I first saw it on my feed it was dark out so I waited till I could watch it during the day. We were Catholic raised by my grandmother. When my mom who’s been gone now 11 years, was put in Hospice care, (she was 90 and had fallen and broke her hip and was in so much pain, even though they did surgery she was not going to heal and was bed ridden for over a month) it was right before she passed, my sister and I were sitting on each side of her bed holding her hands. I had 2 cousins who were there as well sitting on the other bed next to my mom. It was gloomy outside and the blinds were down, I saw these globe like lights come in thru those blinds into my moms room and it put a glow into my moms room, I didn’t think much about it but I could see my cousins elbowing each other. They told us afterwards that what they saw were Angels over us and they just kept coming and surrounding my mom and us. My mom hadn’t said a word in 3 days, right at the end she opened her eyes, had a smile come across her face and she said momma, then she was gone. My grandma came to take my mom and I felt so at peace afterwards.

That wedding photo looks like it might be one of the nurses from the hospital days, as women were cutting their hair shorter even before the trend hit in the 1920s. What I can see of her clothes looks right for late teens-early 20s, too. Very romantic to speculate about. Also, my grandfather came and silently stood at the end of my bed at the exact time he died...in a hospital bed 20 miles away.

When my dad passed away from complications due to early onset Alzheimer’s my son and I heard a man cry! I called my daughter who was with my dad and she was crying saying he just passed. 😢 My dad still show signs that he is here. ❤
