So versatile to have a stencil with its mask.great way to rescue the background. The complementary turquoise really makes the oranges pop.Amazing how every artist used the same stencil in so many unique ways. Thanks for inspiring.

This turned out so beautiful. The idea of a beautiful blue October sky just made those Fall colors shine! I have Shawn’s tree stencil which comes with the masks and I might try something like this!

I have only been doing mixed media for about a year and a half and have been reluctant to use the masks from my stencils. After seeing you create those beautiful leaves...I have a little more confidence to try to finally use my masks thank you!

Thanks so much for sharing that you sometimes get stuck and hate your background. It's true you need to just keep pushing through the ugly. I love the technique of excluding some of the background. Works almost every time!

You did an awesome job of showcasing how to use masks effectively. I often struggle with using them. I was wondering how the blue was going to work with those fall hues, but once you got it all done, I could see your vision. It's a lovey page!
