Hey, It's Dodgik from the 2nd game. It was an incredible game at least for me, I did type gg but in the ally chat(not used to ally chat at all lol). This game drove me back to sc2 and I remember for what I loved playing it after a break. I didn't take opportunities to kill enough, that doom drop killing my hive that a turning point for sure. We got outplayed by the legendary switch from bio to mech to bio. GG
i think the live commentary is pretty easy for him. he's literally just speaking through his thought process in real time. it's quite interesting to see how players as good as him think.
WOW! That was fun to watch! I'm amazed. The Protoss in the second game is a good friend of mine and he was stoked to get a chance to play with you. Super cool.
God this is the best channel on RU-vid. Usually I watch Starcraft 2 for the results in tournaments. That's just keeping up with the scene. uThermal has turned it into pure enjoyment. So creative and engaging. Thanks for all the awesome content, Marc! *click* Adios!
Awesome as usual! Just a content suggestion, would it be possible to cast a replay of one of these challenges? Its doubling up on commentating but it would be really good to see the stats of both sides (supply, economy, apm etc) to see if it was ever possible for both opponents to run over you at any point (I doubt it!)
it is insane to see the skill gap. Its like a simultaneous chess match. Both the opponents are good but he's still faster all the while giving commentary. Multi tasking mastermind
Any days now, I fully expect to see one of Harstem's "Is it imba or do I suck" submitted by Uthermal's victims. Is Uthermy imba or do we suck? "Well, a bit of both I'd say." XD
I think there was one a while ago on a weird challenge. The analogy was something to the effect of its like getting in a boxing match with Mike Tyson, except Mike Tyson is only allowed to open hand slap you left handed. But even though it’s not a good boxing strategy, he will still beat you because he’s still Mike tyson and you suck.
Haha found it, search for uthermal Imba, should be top result. I got the basics of his analogy but his explanation is waaay better. around the 14 min mark
that second game looked really close at one point and then Thermy just turned up the multitasking extremely hard, even the commentary seemed to get more heightened haha. WP good sir
I was watching Husky, then lowko(still into it) for years... but watching u playing that masterly, more than pr0ns, means a lot😅 My daily routine needs you. keep going! My absolute favourite - greetz from Austria.
uThermal makes Starcraft so much more interesting! I would love to be one of the Diamond players! How do I get to be one of the Diamond players in one of these videos?
Fun fact, as a 2v2 player and Terran, map 1 where the protoss walled in the back of the base, that jump up location is bugged. You can't go up with reapers. This map has been in rotation for years and never fixed lol
There are essentially 3 strategies you can try against him I think. Try to out multitask him since you have more players Contain him while the rest greed hard. Turtle up and beat him with more supply
I don't know whether it was happening this time or not but, if it wasn't, maybe next time you can find a practiced 2v2 team to face in a 1v2 challenge. people that have experience working together.
That toss playing like a platinum. No spell casters or warp prism. Stalkers vs tanks? Ht or disrupter would've been huge. As a diamond toss I feel offended.
@@cyberkekosis I'm diamond 3 pushing diamond 2 on my good days. I've got a lot of experience in diamond and from what I've seen the difference is that people start using spell casters in diamond. I'm thinking he was either diamond back in the day or exaggerated because he wanted to be in the video.
When you play against a high GM in a stream you are so stress that you play badly. And we have a tendency to think we are better than what we are. I'm diamond and I know we are not that good and I would be humiliated, but you can try against him. And a caster that is micro incentive against an opponent who is way better at micro and have a godly macro at the same time is not a good Idea. You will cast a storm, kill almost nothing while hurting your macro that is already 3000x worst than his.
@@MrWertheron Well I agree that I'd get demolished but I still think storm would've really helped game 1. It couldn't have been any worse than running stalkers into tanks. Maybe I shouldn't back seat game though.
I was thinking that the protoss should have gone for a proxy stargate in the corner, even get fed some resources from zerg and rush out 4-6 oracles before showing them or going in. Then just slaughter the scv line. Sharing the resources would make it a lot harder to predict, because the zerg's gas that would normally go for banelings would be just pumping out oracles instead.
First game was a destruction. The protoss player should have played to his strengths which is to say, not going for active units like pheonix and blink stalkers and doing absolutely nothing with either. Stalkers against that many tanks in a straight up engagement may as well be air. Second game was surprisingly close and they actually got some good counters in. I've got to say though, the 2 diamonds HeroMarine played against seemed a lot better. They got to ling bane ultra BC without a hitch and by all rights, should have comfortably won that game.
The protoss enemy game 1 totally botched his phoenix play and had no ground army at all. WTF was he doing? I think he killed 2 units and lost 6 phoenix so wtf was the problem there? PHoenix was theoretically th eright opener, he just sucked at it.
How do you guys handle your armies? I tend to rally all newly produced units to 1 of my bases and then occasionally jump to that camera location and add to an army hotkey? Do you rally new units right to the front and hotkey them onsite? Do you prefer all the army hotkey, which is a messy solution but works so easily?
how to play with better players in multiplayers? im normal and i would like to play with normal players , but there are a lot of noobs every time y play and i waste my time
1v1 is the only one that matters, team games are good for testing builds, etc. Marc just beat 2 diamonds, I've won 1v2s, and 1v3s, granted I had the extra resources, but the lower supply cap, but either way Marc was right about don't turtle and expect to defend against 3 or 4, or even 2 kinds of cheese. But as you get better, the matchmaking ai, will match you with less experienced players, presumably, though not always, balanced against your opponents. But grandhamster 4v4 is NOT the same thing as grandmaster 1v1. So have fun, worse even worse than a noob, is a basket case who refuses ever to expand or do anything, a Terran who immediately evacs to gold, even if its halfway across the map (planetary way better), or a teamkiller ffa flake (milad), because you tend lose those games: why I typically had to play roughly 10 times the 4v4s to stay in top 8, 3 times as many 3v3s, and roughly twice as many 2v2s as 1v1s. Play StarCraft man. 🎉
This series is incredibly entertaining, I don't know how everyone of these I've watched is so close and exciting. Great work with the commentary, it really is a core element of the entertainment value and you knock it out of the park.
