1 Timothy 2:3-5 KJV
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; [4] Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. [5] For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1 Corinthians 8:6 KJV
But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

I can't believe what I'm hearing. I base my morality on the disgust I feel when I contemplate the harm/suffering caused to others as a result of my actions, so I steer away from such actions. It can be called empathy, and I would do it even if there were no reward. Ppl who don't get this instinctively and need the threat of punishment, or believe fidelity to a god is all that restrains ppl, scare me. They scare me a lot.

You can be honest and say "I dont know". Trusting in the speculations of ancient ppl, who also didnt know, just to have some sort of answer, doesnt make you correct per se. Me not knowing doesnt make your speculations correct, just because it feels more empowering to have some sort of answer. It actually blinds you to the slow, long, process of discovering the truth.

@@a.n.9767 That interesting, because I have never heard from any gods. All I've ever seen are man-made, man-printed, man-compiled, man-written books by men who claim to be the spokespersons of a god, and ppl who put trust in the claims of those men. The scriptures didn't form themselves in the sky, or appear miraculously anywhere. In fact, the scriptures from an allegedly all powerful god happened to be formed and passed in the exact same way they would it they were just made up by men. Isn't that interesting? The misdirection you are attempting is to suggest that trusting in the scripture is somehow trusting in a god. But in reality, we are trusting in the words of men who claim to be speaking for a god. God has written a total of zero words in any Bible. Isn't that something? It like god chose the exact same method that things would have unfolded if it were all just made up by men. Wow.

Also important to note that just claiming random things is not "having an explanation". Saying that god did this explains nothing, it just creates more questions, which religious people are very unwilling and uncapable to answer cause then you need something called science.

This is just evidence that these people never actually read the bible or take their religion seriously. The bible clearly tells you it's okay to commit genocide, to rape, to murder. The fact that you're not going out there raping and murdering is nothing to do with religion, that is to do with secular morality. It comes from us talking to eachother and writing down how we think we should live. Modern day morality that we all hold as important has nothing to do with the bible, and in a lot of ways is contradicted by the bible. If morality really was that important for religious people they would behave more humble.

I’m lost to what you’re saying. Jesus said these two commandments I give to you and hang all the laws and prophets. Matthew 22:37-40 KJV Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. [38] This is the first and great commandment. [39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. So in return. We don’t kill, steal, rape, teach kids to disobey their parents, idolize an images. & Adultery. Jesus thought love, compassion, & healing. For that the Hebrews, Roman’s, Greeks, Sanhedrin & Pharisees killed a just man.
