GAME 3 Preview:
Jazz (2-0) vs. Lakers (0-2)
The Jazz came out on top once again against the Lakers, taking the 2-0 lead in the series. Their stellar perimeter play propelled them to this lead and unless changes are made defensively by the Lakers' own perimeter unit, Utah looks like they'll run away with this series.
While the Lakers fought back in the 4th to cut the lead to 1 with less than :15 to go in the game, the Jazz remained cool and kept the Lakers at arm's length.
Isaac Cage played a masterful game, scoring seemingly at ease both inside and from the midrange. He finished with 38 points on very efficient 18 / 28 shooting. Howie Carney continued to drop dimes everywhere he went. He finished with 13 assists to go with his 14 points on 5 / 7 shooting.
The Lakers didn't enjoy a hefty contribution from Chucky Big Dong like they're accustomed to. He finished with a pedestrian 19 points and 12 rebounds. His lack of dominance this game led to the Jazz outscoring the Lakers 68 - 40 in the paint. The Jazz also outrebounded the Lakers by 12 boards.
Going back to Los Angeles in a 0 - 2 hole is new territory for the Lakers these playoffs, who entered this series dropping only a single game out of 9. They've got to reset if they want to get back into this series.
Meanwhile, the Jazz look to extend their streak through these playoffs after dropping their first game, which now stands at 10 wins in a row.
