The Gucci eyeshadow palette was a shameless cash grab. It’s embarrassing to the brand in packaging quality and product quality. Lovely exterior but plastic inserts with tiny pointless shades is unacceptable. Shame on Gucci for treating their customers like this.
Thank you! I’d like to try it, but I wasn’t sure about taking the risk. My fave concealer is Tarte Shape Tape (the original) and I hear a lot of people complain about how heavy it is. However, I apply a very tiny amount (a dot in the darkest under eye area is enough) and that way it works great for me. So, the Hourglass seems similar to me in that respect.
I agree with you. Hourglass concealer is the best of all concealers I have ever tried. It's just perfection, but you have to use a very small amount, as you said. It is waterproof and the only one that lasts on me intact after having tears while cycling in a snowstorm 😅 no other concealer in the world can stand that😊
Love this series. 30mins of sassy! My worst: 1. RB tinted lip oil 2. Bare Minerals liquid mineral concealer 3. Biossance squalane mineral SPF (caused a horrible burning rash for a week!)
@@izellove783 I bought 2 shades, Affection and Joy. Both stained unevenly, even though I applied an even layer. And they were drying. I’ve pretty normal lips without much peeling normally. This definitely made my lips wrinkly and flaky at the end of a days wear. I highly recommend layering with lip balm if u do get them.
Hi!! My top 5 brands & worst product I've tried & regret purchasing. 😬 Make up by Mario- Ultra Suede lipstick (too drying on lips) PML- Concealer (Couldn't find my perfect shade) Natasha Deona- My Dream lipstick (too pale for me) Hourglass- Concealer (too drying for under eye area) Buxom- Powder Blush (color pay off is different when applied to face)
Could not agree more on the Hourglass Vanish concealer (terrible on my 41-year-old, dry undereyes, even the tiniest dot blended out looked dry and cakey and settled into fine lines - and I tried for a LONG time to make it work), the Huda Glowish skin tint (100% Tin Man), and the Ilia Multistick (sooooo many better stick blushes on the market at this point, very patchy and too emollient).
All these bronzers are supposed to mimic being in the sun which is why the yellow and gold undertones. You would have more success using them as highlighters.
Morgan, thank you so much for doing all the videos! The Gucci palette packaging is so beautiful!! Take out the colors of the eyeshadows and keep the packaging. Denessa’s eyeshadows remind me of middle school eyeshadow.
I love the Cali Ray setting spray. I literally took a shower to calm my nervous system with my full face on, granted I didn't have my face fully in the water but it still looked freshly applied when I got out. If you're oily skinned I would have to skip it if I were you, its glowy and definitely not mattifying but it doesn't claim to be mattifying, so.
I love the Nars radiant long wear foundation and the Hourglass concealer 😊 also Superhero mascara! 😂 I will say every time I wear the LYS powder bronzer, it’s so patchy on me but I love the cream version.
Worst: Make Up Forever...that powder you hate. I also don't like the reformulated HD concealer, I loved the old one. Kosas: the brow gel. Sephora collection: the newish lip creams. Tarte: the Maracuja concealer, dries way too fast to blend. Charlotte Tilbury: unpopular opinion, but I don't like the Hollywood Flawless filter.
CT quads the palette of pops in pillow talk, that thing got hard pan so fast. ND the cream pot eyeliners, i was disappointed in them. Nars the holiday 2022 blush palette was so hard pressed, I've tried all different brushes and just don't get much pay off. Benifit hola bronzer, i really don't like. Hourglass i didn't love the extreme lash mascara.
My personal worst five: Nars- Multiple Sticks (very sheer and glittery) Hourglass- Scattered Light Shadows (waaay too much fall out & expensive) Tower 28- The lipglosses (hate the scent) Tom Ford- not sold at Sephora, but the Shade & Illuminate Foundation (separated on my face after 30 mins.) Summer Fridays- Skin Tint (my skin looks exactly the same with or without this product)
What a super good helpfull video, thanks, dear Morgan!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩 For me, 1.) Rose Inc. cream bronzers, what a trash i decluttered from them, i tried 2 colours with my lighter skin with cooler undertones, to orange, and they were dry before expiry date. 2.) Hermes bronzer, almost 100 euor's, formula super beautiful, so refined, shade range for lighter complexion: orange! 3). Charlotte Tilbury: the terrible glitters for her latest 9 pan palette, yes, 53 years here with more sensitive eyes, but only loved the mattes, the glitters DID hurt my eyes. 4). Tom Ford, maybe half of their eyeshadow palettes are so, so indeed, and their beautiful foundation in the glass bottle, when are they ever gonna leave out the lavender oil, so that i can also use it? But it's difficult to leave extra stuff out ot products, sensitive skin here, and the EU brands, still quite some EU brands here, just cannot stop putting fragrance in their complexion products. 5).Westman Atelier I want you mascara, ok, but not wow for this price, safe on my sensitive eyes, but back to my Chantecaille one when finished. Thanks again, super helpful video for us here, thanks, enjoy your day!!!😘😘😘😘
I damn near flatlined when I saw the tower 28 😂. I have drier skin and it wears so well on me especially throughout the day so I hope they never touch the formula. Maybe they’ll introduction another variation like what you mentioned.
Mascaras are such a personal thing. My lashes look amazing with the IT Cosmetics. They are naturally thick and have length though. It can get super clumpy if you layer it up too much.
so i don’t use bronzer ever but i bought solar paint because i used to be one of those glossier fans. i saw into the gloss talking about how you could apply it where you would do blush in that across nose stripe as a ‘suntan’ alternative to the ‘sunburn’ blush look, which if you like a shimmery blush might be a vibe. but i literally just use this as eyeshadow on the rare occasion i wear any.
@@redzgirl2476 i’m not that into shimmery blush but i do think it looks cute and sunkissed!! esp if the bronzing drops mixed into moisturiser look is too all over bronze for your liking
Im here to agree with you about the cream bronzers. That Anastasia, the Freck, the Glossier, all of those are bronzers i have in my drawer that i never use. Really odd colors... I also agree that the Gucci palette should have a better formula, im thinking like Natasha's cream to powder formula, or something more creamy at least ... OHHH!! And the Danessa Myricks glitter gel pot was a nightmare. I could NOT get it to set down even no matter what and it actually made my eyelids sore, dont know if thats from the formula or the trying to make it work. But its awful. The duochrome one with the doe foot is pretty good though, although not glitter. Also, the Rose Inc tinted serum looked terrible on me, so bad I took it back. I couldnt make it work. Ill stick with the Chanel water fresh tint for that sort of idea... I would also agree that the finish of the Westman Atelier stick foundation was a letdown, (i ended up with 2 shades i dont really use) but i LOVE their liquid foundation, its so beautiful. Love the list videos!! Keep em coming!!... ❤
The It Cosmetics Superhero mascara is one of my faves. However I have descent lashes to start & look for seperation & lengthening. Most other clump my lashes together & flake terribly (2Faced BTS mascara). I also like the Nars radiant foundation on my super dry skin.
Thanks for this review. I don’t understand the Tom Ford review as your eyeshadow is absolutely beautiful. I know it’s pricey but your eyes really pop with that pink shimmer.
Ilia multistick is one of my favorite make up products ever 😭. It’s the one product that made me start loving cream blushes and blushes in general bc I didn’t have gods experiences with powder blushes. I understand not everyone’s experience with a product is going to be the same, I also used to own one of their darker shades, maybe the lighter shades would give less pigment than mine did, I’m just saying this to put it out there that I particularly enjoy this product very much! Sadly Ilia is not available in my country’s Sephora, so I haven’t been able to repurchase it, hope they haven’t changed the formula.
I know everyone loves bronzed skin but in colour theory bronzer is for warm skin toned people and contour is for cool toned ! So if the shade pulls to yellow,to red to something is because is clashing with your skin tone !
I love stila's Shimmer and glow, I have it in shade Kitten and it looks beautiful with pinkish makeup. Also it doesn't crease at all and stays put till I remove it.
I love Fenty, they have my absolute favorite complexion products BUT they also have my least favorite complexion products. I can not get the Pro filt'r soft matte long wear foundation to work for me, but Eaze drop is my holy grail.
The tartlette tubing mascara is my fav mascara of all time. it's so easy to remove.. you need to wet your eyes and wait for 20-30 seconds, then it'll be easy to remove by just pulling the mascara gently with your finger..
I have dry skin as well and I ha e the same opinion about the ROSE inc foundation with the balls inside to go on weird and look dry and powdery on my skin. It's awful. I feel like I'm applying it wrong but it's a No for me .
Oooooo I love the two faced lip liners! They stay put forever but go on so nicely. I have Teflon lips though so they barely give me a tingle, if anything I sort of get a mild numb for a minute then all is well.
My favorite brand by a mile is fenty. I’m a marketing girlie, so more than just the formulas, I admire their packaging, branding, marketing strategy. I have a crush on them, basically. That being said, their lipstick in Makeout Break (the name!! 💖) looked like I had frosting all over my lips. Not for me, but I still love them.
This is a great reminder that everyone has a different experience with makeup based on their skin tone, texture, elasticity, skin’s ph that day, and the product formulation. I agreed with many of your choices; however, Westman Atelier has what is likely the most appealing foundation stick for me. It’s also one of my favorite products from the brand (and I have at least one of each item). The pressed powder doesn’t do a thing, the tones of the lip suedes aren’t close to what you see on Sephora, and the eyeshadow pots are very disappointing, beginning with how they don’t adhere well to the skin to blendability. Oof, then there are the brushes. I didn’t try the Valentino craft glitter, but their Color Flip Palettes are insulting. There are luxury eyeshadows that aren’t very pigmented purposely. That’s not what these are. You’ll hit pan before you begin to see a hint of tint. I understand why you chose the glitter. Where is the binder? Skin around the eyes is far too sensitive for a product that gritty. It’s always interesting to get the personal and professional opinion of a PMA. Keep up the great work!
Urban Decay's Naked 3, Naked Honey, Naked Cyber and Naked Heat are my go to favorites. The Urban Decay Naked Wild West Eyeshadow Palette looks so pretty mixed with the Naked Honey Palette. My top five favorite brands are: Colourpop, E.L.F. , Maybelline, Too Faced and Urban Decay. I never had a product that I bought that I hated from each brand since they both work well on my oily/acne prone skin. I mean the only one shade that sucked in the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette was the shade Trick either then that I didn't have a problem with any of these brands. The Maybelline Super Stay Skin Tint + Vitamin C be careful when you use that cause when I was wearing it for my twin cousins's 21st bday party, I got into my eyelash and it burned but I still like it for a no makeup makeup look.
Speaking of CaliRay, I only have one of their products which I was influenced by Risa does makeup. It’s they’re So Blown clean Blurring Primer. Their claims are to be a “pumping hydrator, poor eraser, oil, controller, make up replacer .” I really really like this primer. It does very well in blurring my pores that are craters, especially around my nose . It’s a nice primer
The Fenty Beauty concealer didn't work well for me. I have combination skin with oiliness in the T-zone. It made my under-eye area look dry and creased right away. It also made it seem like I had too much makeup on for a long time, which was disappointing.
Agree on the It Cosmetics superhero mascara except I would say my experience was even worse. It was so clumpy and drying for me that I actually threw it out
I got Charlotte Tilbury's eyeshadow quad Bella Sofia in 2023 as a gift on her mobile app (for big order) and the formula is the same as her other quads (I also have Pillow talk, the golden goddess, exaggereyes), so I guess they definitely reformulated it!
The only one I absolutely disagree with is the Tarte, Tartelette tubing mascara. I LOVE THAT. I had to really search over the holidays to find anything beyond a sample tube. Use a makeup eraser cloth with lukewarm/warmish water, dampen the cloth, hold it to your eye for a 15-20 seconds and it will help break it down to remove easily.
For Tower 28, it's their mascara. Controversial, I know. But it made my eyes burn and flaked off really easily. For Merit, maybe their lip oils. I used to love them, but unless you're wearing something underneath them, they separate badly. For Kosas, it's their deodorant. It had a promising start; it kept my underarms dry and fresh smelling. And then it went 'off' and the majority of the product was ruined. For Fenty, her stick foundation. Another promising one because of blendability, but troubling ingredients, plus it fully came out of the packaging and fell on my bathroom floor. There wasn't that much product to begin with! I really love Milk as a whole, but they released the driest mascara in 2022, I believe, in a white and pink tube, and it was just unusable. Maybe I received a bad batch though.
Interesting, the haus labs eye shadow palette was easy to use for me and that hot pink in particular is ssssuuuuuperrr sparkly and no fading in my 10 hours of wear. Oily eyelids prone to creasing and didn’t use a glitter primer either.
Me too! I keep seeing this as a poor release in videos but I love this palette. I did manage to pick it up for half price, I probably wouldn't have paid full price for it ($66 in Canada, $33 half price). However, it certainly is my go-to palette now and knowing how much that I love and use it, I'd pay full price to replace it with ease.
Piggybacking on this idea! Worst KVD - liquid mod blushes are oily and erase your makeup underneath Givenchy - I don’t think they make high quality makeup, they should just stick to fashion, aside from the powders Tatcha - sunscreen in rectangle packaging spits out runny product without you even doing anything Fenty - their powder bronzers are literally a shade of dark yellow on the light to medium shades NARS - I agree with Morgan, the natural radiant foundation is the worst I’ve tried & had the same experience Charlotte Tilbury - Airbrush Flawless Filter foundation is drier than the Sahara, cake city and oxidizes like crazy Estée Lauder - I think double wear is one of the most cakey noticeably thick foundations at Sephora, idk how anyone other than drag queens that need the fullest coverage or oily skin girlies can wear this IT cosmetics - the whole brand looks outdated to me, never tried anything I loved aside from the IT for Ulta brushes Too Faced - the lip injection gloss AND lipliner hurt, also I think their eyeshadow formula in large palettes is like drugstore & hard to blend ABH - Modern Renaissance & Soft Glam palettes are dusty and too much fallout!! Smashbox - like the glitter liquid shadows, the liquid lipsticks also come in small rectangle packaging so they dry out extremely fast Stila - I HATE the one step primer, it has glitter! Urban Decay - I agree with the naked palettes, 1 & 2 were the best and everything else was unflattering shades and/or too dry of a formula to be quality
Honestly mind boggling that so many high end and luxury brands still have products that are not just sub par but bad. Like that Valentino glitter shouldn’t be a thing. How did that even make it to release? 2024 is my low buy year and I refuse to purchase sub par products for high end prices.
I feel like people hate the dynessa myricks chrome flakes because they don’t know how to use them properly they are supposed to be chunky because you only use a little bit and then it’s supposed to look like separated flakes on the lid it’s not a gel eyeshadow it’s basically a chunky almost glitter but I think they’re beautiful if used right
Well, what experiences can I share? Hourglass is my favorite brand, unfortunately I am not really satisfied with the mascara Caution, Extreme Lash Mascara - in this price segment I expect perfection. Positive aspects of the mascara: absolutely compatible with sensitive eyes; pleasant texture. Negatives: The wiper opening might be too big, too much product comes out in combination with a really bad lash brush. I have "fly feet" after use and it has a lot of fallout throughout the day. I still continue to use it bravely, as I have the feeling that I can make up for something by wiping it off and because it wasn't cheap ;-) Note on Benefits Fluffy Brow Wax: I like using it because my sensitive skin tolerates it better than the alcohol-based (and then smelly) 24h Brow Setter. So for people with extremely dry, sensitive, rosacea skin, the wax is a good alternative :-) All the best, Maria
This was so useful in knowing what not to buy. I have not bought most of these, but a lot of my least faves are different, namely the Rare beauty lip oils, eyeliners from fenty, Ultra blur powder from Laura Mercier, Liquid eyeliner from Huda, and the quickie concealer from Urban decay were total fails for me
I agree the fenty eyeliners have amazing shades but awful formulas, they dry up too, don't glide at all on me, and not good for waterline, where I'd put interesting colors at. I hated the UD quickie concealer, I took it straight back.. I wish they had just kept the original Naked foundation and concealer. Why get rid of a product that everyone loved so much?...
@@redzgirl2476 same I loved the old the UD naked concealer as well, I liked the naked line for both foundation and concealer, pity they got rid of the old concealer, I find the quickie too drying.
YOUR TOP IS STUNNING! Where did you get it? It is so gorgeous love it! Thank you for your video even though you're breaking my heart with the ilia multi stick!
I have never seen you use Jones Road, have you ever used that product?? Ive seen lovers/haters of it. Personally i dont think it appeals to me, it looks a bit sticky/Vaselineish if youve not checked it out, could you please??
@lynettefinnigan9540 Morgan has reviewed Jones road. I believe she spoke highly of their pencils and seems like she liked their eye shadows but the foundation, I think she did try it but it was a pass. It is truly a product made for a demographic much closer to Bobbi’s age group so few young people have liked it. Also the balms that have some tint, the remain tacky all day from what I’ve seen but I think it was designed to do that.
The corrective pencils are great and so are the pencil eyeliners. You will only like the foundation if you want a LOT of moisture and almost no color pigment. It gives a lovely glow on my VERY DRY skin. This is not for oily girls. They quietly reformulated the original and it has not separated in the pot on me yet. I enjoy it in the winter for a no makeup look at home. I went to a store to be matched. When I have a minute I’m going to try it as a primer or will try mixing it with a drier foundation. I think it will work as long as the drier foundation is NOT water -based. If you go to the store they will give you a 3 day sample pot. I took 2 shades and was glad I did as the fair was perfect and the beige too dark. PS: My hairstyle does not fall in my face so I don’t have the “sticking hair to the face “ issue that some people find annoying.
The only Tom Ford quads I will use are the ones stamped with the TF on each shade. They are the best and consistently good. Example: Honeymoon and Nude Dip.
I've never liked a single fenty complexion type product. I mean primer foundations and concealer. I've tried every single foundation except the new stick. The powder is okay, i like the color selection of powders that they have.
Abh bronzer in the golden colour can’t remember the correct shade name this bronze is lovely for me but I use fake tan so my skin has a more warm tone so it suits me actually prefer it to the Chanel bronzer!! 😮
I bought 2 of them recently and they were ok. Better than the Glossier ones for example. The shimmer one is super sheer, but sometimes that's a vibe. The matte one was pretty nice...
Estee Lauder Youth Dew. Worst scent ever! Ilia multi stick is terrible, no pigment, so hard and stiff! Lancôme teint idole concealer is the holy grail!
Every women over 50 wore Youth Dew in the late 60’s- horrible smell. I was in college working at a high end retail store and could smell it a mile away.
Looking at that LYS mascara you can just see a CHUNK of mascara at the end of that wand... My asian lashes screamed just from seeing that big wand with that gigantic blob of mascara lmfaooo
I am an eyeshadow palette whore… I am loyal to know brand and in my collection right now I probably have 50 pallets. However I HAVE NEVER PURCHASED AN URBAN DECAY PALLET… NEVER ! WHY IS A RIDICULOUS REASON THAT I’M ALMOST EMBARRASSED TO SAY, BUT IT’S THE TRUTH. I do not like the rectangular pans that are so close together . I envision hitting pan in the center of the rectangles, pretty quickly of the popular Shade, which is normally the White/Ivory. And then I can see myself having to smash my brushes into the corners of the rectangle to pick up the product . I do not understand that design, but that is their thing . Circle Eyeshadow pans in my opinion on the best option … rectangle absolutely not.
