I bought the Neural DSP Tone King Imperial MKII amp sim shortly after it came out a little over a year ago and it has become my most used amp sim! Not only does it sound great for country and rock guitar when recording my songs in my home recording studio, but there is one feature that I use all the time that no one is talking about! ‪@NeuralDSP‬

Sounds great. Almost bought it last Christmas. Will be buying for sure partially thanks to your demo. Good stuff.

It’s a great amp sim! Should be going on Black Friday sale in a few weeks too!

Sounds awesome with your tele. 👌 Working the input/volume with the Imperial plugin is key!

Thanks! This paired with a Tele is definitely a great combination 👍 Have you tried the Morgan amps Neural DSP just released?

This was a really helpful run through. I was trying to get cleaner tones on this given as you said the volume bottoms out. I figured the input/output gain was there to solve this just wasn’t sure if that was the “right way”. Great video

Thanks Adam! Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching and commenting 👍

Thank you so much! I have been using this for 2 years and I had no idea you could use the cabinet with the microphones only, same with the metronome I use it but I didn’t know it had drum kit. I do use a third party IR, York audio to name it Bassman 4 x 10 and the Deluxe 1 x 12 and it really gives you more tonal options. Thanks again!

Glad it was helpful! One thing I learned from a commenter is that, on the drum kit sounds, you can option (or alt on PC) click on the white dots and change the sounds. You can add snare, additional kicks, etc. to make basic patterns. Really handy! I've heard good things about the York IRs. May have to check those out. Thanks for watching 👍

I'm with you. Of the Neural amp sims, Tone King is the one I open more often than the all the others. I don't have to try very hard to get a great tone out of it, and it's simple enough to just plug 'n' go.
@DadRockAndGuitars
@DadRockAndGuitars Год назад
Yeah, it's kind of hard to get a bad sound out of it. What genre do you usually play with the Tone King?
@davegrice3423
@davegrice3423 Год назад
@@DadRockAndGuitars mostly classic/southern rock. I’ve tried to fake my way through some country songs too though and it does a nice enough job there too.
@DadRockAndGuitars

@@davegrice3423 Awesome! It's perfect for getting those tones 👍 I like to pair it with the ML Sound Lab ML Plexi and ML 800 on a doubled guitar for those southern rock sounds as well. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend Dave!

Great review. Thinking about getting it, sounds very different to the other NDSP plugins.

Thanks Miguel! Yeah, it's definitely a bit different from their other plugins, but I think it's a nice change of pace. BTW, great playing on your videos 👍

Great Video! When i play electric, i like mostly really clean sound like Mark Knopfler. Tried a lot of Amp Sims for that matter, but tone king is just really simple to use. Though i am having a lot of trouble to dial in a good tone. Your mic and cab settings i will surely try
@Squall6575
@Squall6575 Год назад
Agree. I really like it, but I wish it had more headroom. Getting a good clean sound from a humbucking guitar is tough
@DadRockAndGuitars
@DadRockAndGuitars Год назад
Getting really clean with a humbucker is a bit harder. I find that turning down the input quite a bit on the plugin really helps give a lot more headroom. Of course, you'll likely need to turn the output up on the other side of the plugin.

@@DadRockAndGuitars good advice. Im definitely going to continue playing with input and output, but Ive yet to strike the right balance. Thanks!

Nice overview - FYI, you can right click on the metronome white dots to add snare accents in 4/4

How is your Tele so quiet?
@DadRockAndGuitars
@DadRockAndGuitars 3 месяца назад
Hey Roderick! I assume you're meaning not having any extra noise in the signal. I'm not sure I have a super clear answer for you 😅 I use good cables (Monster Guitar Cables , the Rock version I think - not that it probably matters which version). The room I'm in is on it's own electrical circuit, so no refrigerators or other noisy things on the circuit. I just got lucky as that's just how the house was built. My recording gear is on the circuit, but it's all plugged into a cheap power conditioner. Also the plugin does have a tiny bit of a gate on it by default just to catch any little noise that does come through. There are a few spots in the room where I get a tiny bit of noise when using my tube amp, but that spot I'm sitting in is a really quiet spot. Probably more info than you'd wanted, but hopefully that helps! BTW: checked out some of your songs. You're a really good singer and have a great voice! Looks like you're also in Nashville?

@@DadRockAndGuitars That’s awesome you’re on your own circuit must be a great benefit with all the recording you’re doing! Yeah it’s my American Tele, I suppose in the grand scheme of my mixes, the single coil buzz isn’t really noticeable, it just bugs me when I’m practicing lol. Yeah I’m in Nashville bud, playing whiskey jam on 5-20-24 you should come through!
