1 Year Post Big Chop - Natural Hair Journey 

I would like a 2 year update...

YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL YHOOOOOOO, please pardon me I can only properly exclaim like a South African, so here it goes Bathong or haibo!!! yho yho yho!!! ja neh!!! yeses!!!

I never did the big chop but was able to successfully transition in 2 years from bra length permed hair to my now chin length natural without losing any hair. I am now 3 years in. My hair is a healthy 4C, manageable, stretchy, course, and thick. I'm loving it!

I just made it to 7 months post big chop I'm just happy I can do a big high puff and afro at this point 😩😂 My natural hair goal is waist length since my relaxed hair before I cut it was around bra strap length💕💖

Your hair is beautiful..I went to dominicans let them perm and put highlights in my hair after 7 months of growing my natural hair i noticed shedding thinning and It was split ..I shaved all my hair..now it is hiding under a wig until I see curls ..im tired of weaves and have learned my lesson

Next time you decide to get sew in make sure you braids your hair first and put a hair net on and also a closures. That's what I did when I first got sew in. It's protect your real hair underneath cause your hair be cover

0.47 min : Same for me !!🙈😆 The hair at the front completly broke of and after the hair grew back a little I kept on straighting🙃 But I stoppted wearing weave, clip in extensions etc., Did the Big Chop and started wearing only Wigs to protect my hair and it‘s doing soo well☺️

Normally on days I want my hair straight I just braid or twice my hair and pop on a wig.

I'm 6 months big chop post ...I can't wait until a year comes....and see how long my hair will be then...I had cut my hair 3 times in 3 years so yeah never doing that again....hair grows 6 inches a year or 1/2 cm a month so I think I have 3 inches of hair now.....

I NEED HELP! About a year and 6 months I went bald. Fast forward to now I’ve let my hair grow out and have never had it shaped only trims. My hair shorter in front, mid length on the side, longer in the back. I have measured different points of my head and my strands are about the same length (4a/4 ). When I’m wearing an Afro it all looks pretty much the same length.I’m struggle with pulling the front part of my hair into a bun. I was wondering if anybody else had this and if it’s normal?
