A year ago I entered this giveaway because I thought it would be nice if for nothing else to give them to someone in the family. However, after hearing how awful you have reviewed these tools to be I would be ashamed to show up to pick them up or give them to someone and they find out how terrible you have said they are. I think you should have bought something nicer and made it a decent giveaway and not a big joke you have made it into. Somebody somewhere would be thrilled to have these tools so I think you could make them feel better about them. Just my opinion.

In a heavy equipment environment they won’t hold up… but for normal use they are fine. Allot of people don’t realize how hard the heavy equipment industry can be on tools

Exactly the reason i wanted to see this happen. I knew yall were a serious, bon-a-fied HD shop and would exercise HF claim "tool truck replacement" tools. You were the only shop that i knew couldnt be bought to say "Oh these tools are GREAT!! We crack 2" bolts everyday using the Icon breaker bar and a 6 ft pipe without a single issue. So at least from me, thank you for rising to the occasion. @C_CEQUIPMENT

Matts off-road recovery latest video he welded a 9 mm wrench to temporarily fix a steering tie rod while recovering a vehicle . Then went on to explain (rant in he’s own words) that he has never found any uses for the 9mm & 20mm wrenches . Just reminded of that with your 9mm dilemma and found it funny

I absolutely LOVE this video! I entered this last year. I have talked about these Harbor Freight Tools in a lot of your videos. I kidded about making room for them and so on. I am 72 years old and I really can't use them any more like when I was young. I would really like to see someone win these tools that, as you said, Young man or woman that is just starting out in the mechanics world. I would take the free swag and wear it proudly. Thank You for all the great videos and laughs in the past years. You should get an award for all you do. I am a dedicated viewer. I hope to meet you and everyone there some day. I followed all your instructions as directed.

Here is my valued opinion on my tools of my trade. I have used mostly Snap-On tools since 1969. In 1970 I bought their largest rolling toolbox and filled it with all snap-on wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, air wrenches and special tools...over the years. I used Metric, SAE, BS and Whitworth sizes. Also special tools for Cummins, Detroit Diesel, CAT, VW, BMW, MBZ, etc. I've worked on Aircraft [A&E], trucks, buses, racing cars, diesel cars and trucks, motorcycles from Honda's, to HRD's, VW's, lawnmowers, generators sets to Ferraris and Helos over the years. I inventoried my ONE, ALL Snap-On tool box for insurance. At replacement prices it came to over $90,000. I have 4 other tool boxes BTW. Knowing what I know now, I WOULD BUY ALL THE HFT tools I could, for my current needs...NOT SNAP-ON. The HFT guarantee is actually better than Snap-On, MAC, Craftsman, etc. BECAUSE HFT TOOLS JUST REPLACES YOUR DEFECTIVE TOOLS WITHOUT AN ARGUMENT, LIKE SNAP-ON...IMHO. ¿Are HFT tools as good as Snap-On? NO, but you don't need to have your family starve to buy Snap-On tools to earn a good living. Blessings.

Back in the early 70s my father spent a small fortune on snap on tools for our farm use. I found a use for the big sockets, they work great on sinking trot lines deep on our farm pond till my father found out. Long story short dad went with me to get the sockets back off the trot line, but I had caught a 50 lb logger head turtle which dad did help me load. Oh I still have all the old sockets, never lost one. Great video

I think you hit the nail on the head with these things. For someone just starting out in automotive, small light duty equipment, or tinkering in your home garage harbor freight makes some decent tools. My favorite kit from harbor freight has been the $129 Pittsburgh (goes on sale for $99 multiple times a year) mechanic set. I have 3 of them now and keep one in each vehicle. That thing has saved me so many times and takes up no space whatsoever. I have had the original for about 8 years now with zero issues. It’s also cool to see that harbor freight is expanding their lines to give better quality, because even just a few years ago the icon and Quinn line weren’t an option. Also I’m going to guess the snapon setup probably cost about 28,000

@@douglaspeck8535 I would have agreed until he said you could get almost 4 of the harbor freight set ups for what he paid for the snapon box. He only paid $7600 for the harbor freight stuff. Also he did say that if you pay cash you get a deal and I’m sure he did, but that’s still expensive.
@mikehunt3222

@@mikesorg6746I bought my SnapOn bottom rollaway in 1987 that’s probably half the size of his. I paid $1,500 for it back then which was a rip off (but I was young and stupid). I bet today that same size box would be 10-15 thousand dollars. Wouldn’t buy it today because I’m older (but no less stupid). 😂

I've got one and I use it for everything. Got various bits and rollock pads and they're nice. I think mine has more power than either of my pneumatic ones. And the 4AO battery lasts a lot longer than a person would think it would.

My 17yr old son is getting close to having a year in at a local Ford dealer in their quick lane shop. He has home schooled since 5th grade due to being bullied, he is finishing his junior year and plans to finish and graduate high school by around the end of this year. This has allowed HIM to work a full 40hr week and purchase HIS own tools from our local Harbor Freight and continue to progress with the help of good co-workers taking him under the wing. Even his older co-workers that have Mac and Snap-on pat him on the back for NOT jumping on the truck and going broke. I plan to forward this review for more info to help support that. I have been a subscriber a couple years and share different episodes with him.

I bought that biggest aluminum pipe wrench from HF because I was rebuilding an industrial oven with 1¼ and 1½" pipe and fittings. I'd have one size shorter steel pipe wrench, handle in a vice on the floor, and stand on the aluminum wrench to break some fittings free. The jaws are sharp but definitely not hardened enough. That said, the wrenches worked to take down the oven to sell it & will work again when I go help install it in the new home. HF and "value" means not the best. Use the tools carefully and they'll keep working for you. 👍😊

I have really enjoyed the process of testing the tools out. Over the years I have decided that if I can get what I need in either S&K or Proto, I’m happy. Proto usually isn’t fancy, or even pretty, but are consistently built well and hold up. S&K just does it well and are usually always shiny. 😂 I consistently used a S&K 3/8 ratchet for years, and would reset brake bolts win hammer on the ratchet handle, it would throw sparks, but never marred the surface. And never broke ratchet gears. Great job guys, keep up the interesting videos! God Bless!

When is started Delta Airlines as a mechanic in 1978 I was fresh out of the Navy. I walked in there with a Kennedy hand box on a creeper. It took years to buy all the tools I needed. Mac, SK and Craftsman were the preferred tool back then. Snap On.tools were never the.preferred tool of practical mechanics as they were.double to price and too.slick. :). The mechs that had Snapon would bead blast them so they were not so slick. For well made some.good tools also. When I retired after 40 years I gave my tools to a local aircraft mechanic.school. They made.me.a.good.living. :)

Snap on makes a 4piece set of thin adjustable wrenches with a rubber grips. They are absolutely fantastic. They don’t loosen up as you are using them. They are awesome I highly recommend them. They one of my most go to tools.

I absolutely love and enjoy your channel. I wish more business people were as honest and stand by their work as you do. You buying all of the HF tools with your own dollars and giving and honest review after a year, especially giving it away to a hopeful your mechanic just getting started is truly a reflection of you and how you run your business. Just an honest comment with no ulterior motives. Continue being you and I will enjoy it.

Awesome review! I work on semis, farm equipment and old Indiana rusty vehicles and we are hard on tools as well. Flee market, Napa, craftsman, DeWalt, they are all in the shop, boxes, pickup trucks all over the place. All that said, I truly appreciate honest reviews. Thank you for the videos!

What? No Kevin impersonation! I think he would have some classic movie reference about the tools. Looks like you gave those tools a great workout. Loved the good, better, best comparison. I would have died and gone to heaven to have that toolbox and contents back in my 20's. THANKS for sharing! 🔨
