@@alexgarrett8074did you ever get it figured out? I just installed this in my wife's car and now there isn't audio. I guess I will just have to install the old unit until I can get it figured out.
hey man, just put mine in and started up the car n no bootup? any ideas. mine is a 2011 base gs sedan, i may figure it out but just wanted to ask in case ya might know what’s up¿
So how did you screw in the new radio to keep it in place? The screws that came with the stock radio are too short to reach and the A/C vent isn’t going to hold it in place.
There is steering wheel support. Contact their customer service to get the password to unlock the hidden menu so that you can select the correct car model.
Guys did anyone else have issues with one or more speakers not working? In my case it's the front passenger speaker bose system. Another weird problem I had is the bluetooth pairing mode. Phone and head unit see each other but can't successfully pair.
@@luismcwhorter8926 what color is the amp wire and is it coming directly from the amp in the rear or are you talking behind the head unit and what power cable are you referring to
@@alexgarrett8074 yep, if you have the Bose package in your car you can’t use the radio unless you figure out how to wire the AMP wire to the new head unit
Left side speakers didn't work. Bluetooth pairing didn't work despite trying again and again and on different days. I didn't do anything different. It just worked once. I really hope I do not have to repeat this process again. I don't look forward to doing this again should I get a new phone. Don't know if I damaged something myself or the unit is faulty. Tried sending emails to their website but they weren't keen to help me. The moment I left a bad review they suddenly want to help me. Long after I had installed the unit and other extras like dashcams and reverse etc. Was tired, fed-up and in no-mood to repeat the self-installation again. I left the bad review for everyone to see and I ain't ashamed of it. Some people had a smooth time. For me not worth the hassle despite the lower cost.
The dash separating is a recall, I found out about it like 2 weeks ago. They were supposed to tell everyone, and claimed they did. But I didn’t hear shit. Call a dealer and ask about it, they have to fix it
I had my 2012 Mazda 3 dash separating for a while now but did not know this was a recall. i didnt get any letter from them. Looking into it, it said that Mazda just extended warranty 7 years from the original warranty start date (which is only until 2018). Were you able to get yours covered by the dealership even if its past the covvered warranty dates?
I also never recieved a letter about the recall and I am the only owner of my 2012. I dont know if they followed the proper procedure for notifying customers. @@LarnCat
Was wondering does the new device push enough watts to the speakers ,does the music you play through it still sound good. Is the bluetooth real good? Can you hook a back up cam to it as well ..and it comes with the harness to hook up as well .
All yes, I also have one of these in another car different brand and it makes it significantly better and easier to navigate. CarPlay is such a gamechanger and is better than using your phone with a car phone mount. Bluetooth latency is low and connects really quick l
I have a different brand but it's designed just kind your's. I can't find a message icon on mine and saw that when you started yours you didn't have one either but all of the sudden you did. How do I get a message icon to show up and how do you get all steering wheel controls to work for phone. Thank you
Great video . Are there any settings on the tablet that control the back up camera from displaying in reverse ? Mine stopped working and I am not sure where to start 😢
You can use the knob that says push audio control and you can see the settings and the controls on the small red screen. The the screen that the guy just installed doesn't have to do with anything. With that small screen, it's on the dashboard
I have a Bose in mine ,does it still work ? I hooked it up and it has power but no sound and the medium sized plug still isn't plugged into anything ,and the audio video female plugs are not plugged into anything
@@charlenearanda7849 there are ones that are compatible just a little more expensive but honestly you can take it to a audio shop and they can do it for like a hundred bucks in less than an hour
Do you know if there is 3 constant hot wires on the 2nd gens? I cant find any info on this but Im having a constant with the brown wire, a violet one and a red one and im thinking its not normal but wanting to find a forsure answer to this.
Many many thanks for this video. I have the same car, so I feel good about my chances this will work in mine. … even better that it also works with the iPhone 15.
Ok, so I got this (they’re all pretty much the same hardware under different company names) - and after much pulling of hair - I was finally able to get it to work. The issue is that - there’s no manual. Installation is a breeze - but understanding the apps boils down to pure trial and error. The wireless CarPlay is atrocious - I’ve had to create a “shortcuts” script on my iPhone to automatically disable WiFi on my phone so that it won’t connect wirelessly - essentially forcing it to connect wired. The only issue I’m left with now is - how do I get the unit to automatically connect via Bluetooth?? Without a Bluetooth connection, you won’t be able to hear the other person when receiving or making calls. I have to manually connect to Bluetooth as my phone doesn’t automatically connect.
