Hello, friends! It's just a few days away from Halloween...are you excited? I'm excited! I love Halloween, and I've got a perfect new sweater for the occasion!
Show notes below have time stamps and links to my project pages both on my project blog, My Favorite Day (MFD), as well as on Ravelry (Rav). If you have questions about anything in the video, feel free to leave a comment or email me, and I'll be happy to try and answer!

Intro & Announcements
I got nuthin' this week...though I do share a short tale of how we have ended up with a tiny critter living in the porch room, on purpose. Life in the mountain house, y'know? ;) (Upon further investigation, this little guy is a common house mouse, Mus musculus, not a shrew as I originally thought. The irony of this situation, considering how much time we spent trying to rid our house of mice earlier this year. Sigh.)

I shared my idea for our 2024 MAL. I'd love your feedback and input! Feel free to leave it in the comments or email me. I'll be starting a thread for it in the Rav group and I'll make a blog post for it on the website as well.

Good to catch up with you this morning between loads of laundry and other household jobs. Your Halloween cowl turned out super fun. I really like the idea of next year's MAL (even though I'm terrible at keeping up with the chatter). I can see myself continuing my personal sock yarn club plus maybe setting aside several sweater lots, as you suggested. Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! Your Sweater looks lovely on you! So pretty! I can't wait to have a "Pool" of WIPS. January is a great month to start that!

Deschain fits perfectly! Glad the little tweaks worked! I’ve got to get some socks on my needles… trying to finish up a few larger projects. I’d like to start/finish a whole lot of kits (mostly cowls) I’ve purchased over the last 3? 4? years. Sheesh! And then the quicker things … mitts, hats. Guess I’m having way too much fun knitting without much planning. Which is okay, really. I swear I have a project for every mood (from super easy to “Absolute Total Concentration”)… welllll, most projects are leaning to the easier end of the spectrum. Thanks for sharing all that luscious fiber! Can’t wait to see what you end up with!

Love your sweater. Nice job. My daughter and I are going through a haunted house on Halloween. She likes me to go because she thinks it’s funny when I get scared and holler 🤣 Hope you have a wonderful week

A name for for your Along could the the Pull Party. Collect your supplies (yarn, fibers, kits, patterns, etcetera) you want to use in 2024 and when you need a project you go to this collection of yummies and pull the next project you want to work on. Your sweater is wonderful! It sounds to me like your little critter may have had a stroke or brain bleed. If he got into some poison this would be a possibility. Its so good that your giving him a cozy spot to convalesce .

I love the idea of having a pool of yarn/projects ready to pull from next year and keeping it to 24 items or less at a time. For me, I would split that up into 12 sock yarn and 12 bigger projects (new and WIPs). I like that you generally allow up to 5 WIPs to be included so that I'm encouraged to finish up things I'm working on as well as start new things. I also appreciate that you are getting this out early so that I can spend some time during the holidays to plan and pull out yarn from my stash. There are definitely a few things that I did not get to this year that I plan to put on this list for next year. Thanks again for hosting these MALs! I love the encouragement to get projects made that are ones I want to work on as well as the company from the group chat.

Yeah I was saying my favorite motif was the spiders and that was the very first one!! The bats are also so adorable.

Hitting pause to say how awesome your sweater looks on you. Totally a win. It makes me happy to see you so happy and I am glad that the yarn finally discovered what it was meant to be.

The sweater looks lovely on you! For your scrappy socks, how many stitches did you cast on? I usually cast on 56 sts for a US2.5 or 3mm needle.
@fibernymphdyeworks

Thanks! I did 48 stitches on a US 2.5.

Something in his ear? Could be balance. Stroke? My cat had a stroke and he was walking in circles.

Possibly? We thought maybe some kind of neck injury or vascular issue. That happened to my dog too, later in life. :( But other than the constant circles, this little dude seems perfectly happy and healthy, at least in so far as I'm able to judge with a small critter like that.

How about wearing your Halloween cowl as a hood?
