As a courtesy correction, there is no island chain named The “buh knee” IslandS. The islanD to which you refer is “BIMini Island”… the closest of the Bahamian islands (Bahamas) to Miami and the US. coast. Again, not meant as a negative… merely a clarification. Clearly the entire Caribbean chain provides a plethora of pronunciation challenges, with its mix of language origins (or “oranges”, as Trump would say ;-) Thank you for an excellent overview.

I dropped my grandson off for work at Wawa in Deland.. There was actually gas there.. People lined up and I could barely get through the parking lot.. It's so sad to see people running out of gas on the highways while trying to evacuate.. 😢

I remember Hurricane Charlie split Captiva Island in half. The greater end Category 4 Hurricane I hope Tampa doesn't split. Some of the sand on The Island is turning into water Someone said they couldn't bury pipes because the ground was so soggy.
It's one way to let people know how each category to see how big, how much strength, how much potential dangers, and to take precautions when dealing with one.
