For those looking for an easier grind you can semi afk. This is how I would start out as a new member. 1) agility. With agility you can run longer without needing to stop. This is super helpful for questing. You can also make decent starting money this way. From about 55-71 agility you can do agility pyramid and bring in around 150k-400k/h depending on level and fail rate. The other argument would be ignore money and get your marks of grace and get the full agility set before really questing. 2) questing and nightmare zone. Rack up about 100qp and around 60/60/60 melee stats. Get the quest that lets you teleport to ardougne and then walk south ish to yanille. go into nmz with melee only monsters. Start your first few runs using prayer and save points solely for the potions you can buy from nmz. (Overload and absorption) once you have this completed aim for the recipes for disaster dwarf quest. Complete this quest and get the rock cake. Go back to nmz (select hard rumble and select melee only monsters) drink an overload and then rock cake to 1 hp (it can't kill you) and then drink up to 1k absorption points and go afk. Keep your hp below 6. (When starting out anyways) and earn enough points to buy 15 herb boxes. Sell the herbs. Money. A tip for new players to nightmare zone. Do not rock cake and then drink a overload. It will kill you. You will lose 30k easy and fast. An overload lasts for 5 minutes. When it wears off the game will tell you in chat. Drink the overload at about 55 hp and then wait for you hp to go down to 5 and then rock cake down to 2hp. 3) farming. Early on farming is tedious and slow as hell. But at about level 20+ you can start making huge gains. And decent money. Once you get the pattern down for farming runs it becomes about a 20 minute daily task. And eventually you'll get to the point where you make enough money to do riskier herb runs and they pay a whole lot more. 4) teleports. Work on your magic to get at least the teleport to Camelot (40? I think) this speeds up traversal of the map significantly. This is useful for questing and just general play. 5) general armor setup. This will be your biggest save up and also your biggest spending til later game. At about 10m you can get some of the best mid level gear that will last you long into the late game. At 6.6m (currently) the obsidian set and the berserker necklace with the obsidian longsword, is the best melee armor set in the game when it comes to straight statistics in the damage category. With a 30% strength bonus and a 10% accuracy bonus the straight dps it provides is actually quite silly. Mystic set, chaos gauntlets and a smoke battle staff (currently 2.3m I think) will give you a huge leg up when it comes to training magic. You can use chaos runes well into the later game for everything and get a huge benefit. (Chaos gauntlets come from the family crest quest.) for range try to get the Ava's accumulator (unlocked at 50 range) and not the Ava's assembler (sic. Don't remember the low level name) and aim for black dragon hide armor. (70 range) you will also want to get a pair of d'hide boots. (Eventually. They can be really expensive and are a later ish game item) . If you have an y specific questions feel free to ask!

This video was incredibly helpful! There is so much content in Runescape, its hard to know what to do. Obviously I want to get higher skills, I've been having to piece together slowly what goals to reach for, as I dont want to just blindly and inefficiently raise skills like I did in the old days on my first account.

Throne of Miscellania is a must, same with getting full graceful, would also recommend tears of guthix for free construct lvls early on. also varrock diary's is really nice for battle staff's and if you do mining.

A MUST DO for everyone who became a member for the first time is doing a bunch of quests asap. You get a bunch of exp for different skills and access to places, special items etc. I had a text document with the quest orders somewhere I can share it if I find it again.

I think working towards Fairytale Pt 2 for the Fairy Rings is a good way to get around

Agility is a must, at least 30-40 purely because in osrs it drains so quickly and takes forever to regenerate and youll be running a lot even with teleports.

Get a coal bag and 60 smithing to start using the blast furnace. Get Bone Voyage done to unlock bird house runs for passive hunter xp and sand crabs for efficient combat training.

Fishing is also important. It's the best skill in the entire game so deserves to be on this list x)

For slayer if you are mid level and can cast earth strike, just do Krystilia's quests. You can safe spot all the higher level monsters and for 50k/ 5 thousand casts earth strike will be be very economical. My first task from her (lesser demons) got me to level 34 in like 4 hours of grinding plus two larran keys that netted a 200k profit in the process. It also leveled my magic pretty good too.

DIARIES! Preferably the hard ones, but easy and medium should be fairly doable Along the way youll go across all of runescape, train skills ans do quests :D

Also get to 40/50 thieving early game saves alot of time later on (stealing ftom master farmer can also make some nice starter cash

This is a pretty good video but you should put thieving and Agility in there, thieving is a zero investment money making skill that you can Farm as part of getting the ardy cape, and if you plan on doing all the quests you suggested agility definitely helps

Just became a member at combat lvl 80. First thing I did was buy a dragon sword. There's no quest requirements for the dragon sword and its just to hold you over until monkey madness 1. Another thing im doing early on is getting the ancient mace. The special attack restores your prayer so you can use it to save money. Its a reward from another slice of ham I believe so there's 5 or 6 quests to do to get it🙏 . first thing I did as a member was train agility to 25 then did tree gnome village and the grand tree, in prep for monkey madness

Throne of Miscellania and Royal Trouble, one right after the other, once you have 40 Slayer and at least 1M to set aside for it. Also, full Graceful outfit and fairy rings. Travel is everything. For an alternative to woodcutting, an easy recommendation is fishing. Karambwan are lucrative and only take 3 quests to gain access to. Or if you're an absolute madman, you can get all the requirements for monkfish.

Im curious, as a returning player to osrs what is considered early, mid and end games for content? right now i have all my stats around or above 50 and 51 mems quests left but i feel like this video heavily points to that still being very early game as opposed to at or near mid game. If anything i want to know so i can better place goals for myself

If you have 99 str or att you can get into warriora guild and into the cyclops without warrior tokens.

*id recommend getting full grace set and high agility as a first priority. A lot of people never do and they could do things, much much faster. Faster xp Faster gp

This is a serious question. What are the first things someone should do becoming a member when their account is fully max f2p, 1493 skill level, with stuff like gold not being a issue?

Best money I make with woodcutting is killing ents in the wilderness, I'm around lvl 82 wcing and I think I make about 350-400k/hr last time I checked, not amazing money by any means but better gp/hr than just chopping magic trees by far, they drop noted logs and idk the rate for bird's nests but I feel like I get them much more than just cutting trees, plus they're safespottable and only in like lvl 14 wildy so as long as you're paying attention you should never get pk'd, and you get double the logs you would get killing them underneath the woodcutting guild. Also, I'm 90% sure all axes chop ent logs at the same rate, so if you are low on gp or don't want to risk it you don't have to use a dragon axe. Edit: completing the medium Wilderness diary also increases the speed that you chop ent logs, so even more gp/hr.

My current slayer task is to kill 90 loar shades... Without any teleport to mor'ton you can imagine my food being turned to garbage by the ghasts in the fucking swamp, I'm questing a bit more so I can use fairy rings

For people that uses in game money for membership: try not to stress about money. like when you're just doing money making for these 2 weeks and not progressing account further(im talking about buying or collecting stuff)and dont be scared to invest money into skills. saying that cuz i met alot of ppl with same problem and out of experience..

Most of the goals are solid but I think there's some bad advice mixed into it. For one, Wildy altar is a popular PK spot and quite risky for new members who don't have a lot of money to spare. For people who have played a while, risking 300k in d bones is no big deal but for new players and especially those who are funding their memberships with bonds, that's a lot of money that could be easily spent elsewhere. A much safer and cheaper option for training prayer is using ensouled heads. Resurrecting chaos druids will cost you something like 150k to get to 43 prayer while praying d bones will cost you around 250k with the risk of being pk'd at any time. Second, "Spare cash" is such a 4Head tip (aka useless). Just get 5m to start flipping at ge is terrible advice for someone new to the game who has no idea how to make money. Not to mention 5m is no small sum for someone new also funding themselves on bonds. It would have been infinitely more useful if you had instead suggested some accessible money making options available to member accounts. Stuff like farming herb runs, making unfinished potions, making planks, blast furnace, etc. Third, while I do agree starting on slayer early on is definitely what everyone should aim for, I would like to point out that rather than an arbitrary level like 50, new members should instead be aiming for level 55, which is when broad bolts are unlocked. These significantly reduce the cost burden of early ranged, which is the most useful combat style IMO. Aiming for 61 ranged for rune crossbow and 55 slayer for broad bolts is a great goal for any new member to aim for that's powerful and light on the bank. Fourth, I don't think woodcutting should be on this list at all. 61 WC should be a goal for F2P players, not members. Almost nothing changes about the skill post members and it's really not even that lucrative either. Yew logs sell for like 250 gp now, which is about the same price as coal, which you can mine quickly in MLM, or fishing and selling raw lobsters which are equally as AFK. Fifth, High alch like woodcutting shouldn't be on this list either as it is easily trainable F2P. You can just splash on rats for a few days to get the level needed for High Alch and honestly, that should be done well before you spend any money/gp on members. Now for things that are missing from your list, working towards full graceful outfit by training agility is by far the most obviously missing one. Both the outfit and the skill improve the other parts of the game considerably by improving your mobility. Skills like runecrafting, hunter, and farming all offer good options to make money and benefit significantly from the increased mobility from graceful + agility. Next, I'd say establishing farm runs + birdhouse runs is very useful to newer players. Hunter is a very easy skill to train while you only need around 32 farming to start doing herb runs for profit. Tree seeds/bird nests from birdhouse runs and herbs from herb runs (as well as farming contracts from the new farming guild) are both great early game money makers with fairly low investment required. Next, especially for new players with not a lot of money or those funding themselves with bonds, Miscellania and its associated sequel quest are great goals to work towards as once you finish them, they are consistent money makers that require nearly 0 effort, which is perfect for newer players who already have their hands full trying to learn the game. For players funding themselves with bonds, Miscellania + daily farm runs + birdhouse runs will usually net you enough cash to maintain the bond without much trouble.
