Somehow your channel splashed on my RU-vid . Bangalore it’s food is always close to heart. I am a Malaysian was studying in Ramaiah from 1988-92 period . Really enjoyed living there . Not only Dosa Kesari bath, Bisebera bhat , rawa idli was my favourite. We have Masala dosas in Malaysia but not like woodland or kamat of Bangalore. You are thriving on the old reputation. The dosa that we are 20 years back has gone . Done bloggers cover up dosa points and come here to make their living. If it helps them at the cost of people seeking points to get good Masala dosa, they will be feeling misled.

When I was in service in Bangalore during 2010, after office hours I use to eat Masala dosa in Janata Hotel beside Bata show room in Majestic. What a delicious food it was. Still I remember it's super taste.
The more well accepted theory in udupi and our region is that Masala Dosa was invented in Mitra Samaj restaurant which is near udupi Shri Krishna Mutt. But right now, no doubt Bangalore is doing justice to the dosa more than any other place we know .
I have considered Janardan hotel, sir but due to the length of this video I limited it only to Masala Dose. Another video is in the making and Janardhan will be part of it.

Hotel Mangala at Hanumanthanagar 50 ft road next to kaggis bakery is also popular for Masala dose. One can try. And also it is famous for Khali dose and Rave vade. It is 30 years old Hotel.

CTR and Vidyarthi Bhavan have historical significance hyped up beyond necessity by the social media crowd. Excess of ghee and butter have been one attributes of a masala dosa. For the ubiquitous masala dosa lover, it is all proportion, temperature of the tava, a nice roast on the external crunchy yet soft to hold the palya at the centre. A touch of butter to go with the hot exterior, not in excess. Those who want to eat the crispier side, they tear the edges first, those who want to go for the palya dig into the centre. You don’t need a Shakespeare Kripal to tell us how to eat a dosa. A good tour . That said there are plenty of dosa hotels small and big that have mastered this wonderful dish. But only a few that prosper in its hype

I like A2b Masala Dosa @ malleswaram is good. Size is big. Chutney, Sambar is yummy. For a man from Chennai, Karnataka sambar is not palatable. They add jaggery. Bi2 hotel opposite CTR is good.
Sir, I haven't had pleasant experience at many of the A2B branches recently. If it is TN style dose, Sendhoor Cafe is much better. Agree that By2 is good. On Sambar, each state has its uniqueness and they are good in their own way. It takes few repeated tasting sessions to acquire the taste. The best way to enjoy Karnataka Sambar is to try the Idly Sambar dip.
True. Bangalore us for amazing authentic food. Have tried a couple of cafes but not all. No other state can compete Masal roast. In Thailand restaurants it's all bunkum and nonsense. They lack talent. Good karnataka. God bless land of Mother Lavern. Thanks.
Masalae Dosaes originally are from Cubbon Pete, old Bangalore's Petes. The Udupi - Coondapur chef - entrepreneurs took inspirations from Cubbon Pete restauranters in the early 1920s when half a dozen of them came to Bangalore to start their enterprises. In entire South Kanara - Udupi one doesn't get good idli, Vadae, Dosaes like the one get in Bangalore

There was an hotel called malabar which was located in balepete, their masala dosa was unique coz of their different palya, it was an great place foodies, unfortunately closed few years ago

Sir, regarding the origins, Masāle dose is different from Mysore Masāle Dose... Masāle Dose originated in Udupi and by default chatni pudi is sprinkled... Mysore Masāle Dose originated in Mysuru and they use the red chilli paste instead of chatni pudi... In areas around Mysuru(including Bengaluru) you will be served Mysore Masāle Dose if you order Masale Dose and in Uttara kannada and Dakshina kannada districts you will be served Masāle dose with chatni pudi is sprinkled(called as pudi dose in B'lore).

Best Khali Dose is Dwaraka Hotel, N.R.Colony, Bangalore since 1972. Nobody can beat them with their Khali Dosa + pure coconut chutney poured on the Dosa like sambar.

Shape of Dosa does not matter! Research n rennovation is going on in Masala Dosa making in the world replacing red garlic chutny with all sorts of powders n ghee is abundantly used. Yet the best Masala Dosa is yet to come!
Most dosas are over hyped. Dosas sometimes are too oily or too crisp. The chutneys and sambars are also sometimes too spicy. I used to like the simple masala dosas made at India Coffee House in the MG Road area. Airlines is also quite good.
The dosa at India Coffee House is good but it’s a different style of dosa. Airlines used to be good 15 years ago, my recent visits were not that great.

Some places started giving more than one chutney nowadays. Among the places mentioned in this video, at Shree Sagar (CTR) and Lakshmi Nataraj, they give two chutneys. Chalukya Samrat and Om Sai Skanda provide three variants of chutney.
