Some video game bosses are just downright on another planet. Here are some of our favorite criminally insane bad guys. Subscribe for more: / gameranxtv
Every time I think about Armstrong I get a stupid smile on my face. His boss fight sequence is my favorite. I played it so long ago but I can remember his lines word for word. Also you got some stuff wrong about him. He doesn’t want to protect the status quo he wants to tear it down and go primal. He is survival of the fittest all the way, he doesn’t want people to have unfair advantages due to their social status or wealth. Which is ironic because he supercharged himself using his wealth and status.
He said it himself: he's using war as a business, to end war as a business. It's the same thing with the nanomachines. He's used his status and wealth to elevate himself to a position of power great enough that he can end the system that allows people to do exactly that. He's become what he hates for the sake of ending the system that gave him the power to become what he is.
My question is did he get his money passed down from family, or did he earn it himself? Because your statement could be very conflicting. If he is "survival of the fittest" than the right move WOULD be to supercharge himself (to be the 'fittest'), and if he earned his wealth on his own than he doesn't have an "unfair advantage" because it wasn't given to him, he earned it. Sorry, I didn't play the game.. loved the first one, played the second... meh... ignored them until the more recent ones, and those were kind of dumb and repetitive and desperate, massively over rated (sorry Jake).
The only reason is the wrong way, is that he failed. Have he succeeded, it would have been the right way. Same for Amstrong. For society as a whole. Might makes right. The victor always rewrites history.
I hope handsome Jack makes it in the next list I mean we all loved him for how he a a bit balanced in cool genius and crazy in the three games (BL 2 BL the pre sequel and Tales from the BL)
He's not too crazy and besides Borderlands is a franchise with a shit ton of insane characters... Tiny Tina, Boom Bewm, Zed, Claptrap, etc. and I mean A SHIT TON Borderlands has a unique style to it because of its characters same with BioShock.
Early as hell, but like, Crazy Hand in Smash Bros, ya know the theory of the hands being that of children or people... And that thing is pure insanity from the way it moves to it's ruthless attacks.
I got a couple of characters honestly, and completely biased in my first choice which would be Vincent from FF7, absolutely loved Clouds inclusion, but I do want another FF rep, as for someone from a franchise not in Smash Bros yet, Yoshimitsu from Tekken/Soul Calibur (not that we really need another swordsman, but oh well)
I love metal gear bosses, especially Armstrong. But you forgot to mention the best part of psycho mantis, the gameplay, he literally reads your mind, he tells you what video games you’ve played before, and he predicts your controller inputs, he really makes you feel like he’s reading your mind
“No one is named ‘psycho-anything’ and is a nice guy...” OKAY HOLD THE PHONE. How are you gonna do my man Psycho Pete like that?! He’s such a sweet, troubled guy who is nothing BUT nice to his friends who are horrible to him! **plays “C’Mon N’ Ride It (The Train)” by Quad City DJ’s on a ghetto blaster while dancing around**
The main villain from Lost Oddysey by Blue Moon Studios had me rolling with how insanse his plan and tactics were to get there and VILEY manipulative he was as well to the main party
I think of Helis the leader of the Shadow Carja from Horizon Zero Dawn. He thinks an Ai (who has been programmed to destroy the world as a glorified reset button) is a god that has divinely chosen him as a prophet. So he’s worse then crazy he’s really stupid.
Love Sander Cohen, he's one of my favorite things abt the franchise and wish Fort Forlic was longer. It was an actual delight to be there. It was a change of pace and you couldn't help bt kind of like it. The mannequin room was incredible the first time around and scared the shit out of me.
The moment i read the words "BATSHIT CRAZY" i knew who was going to be the number one. Metal Gear Rising, son! It comes back to your mind in response to nostalgia.
Vaas definitely has to be included at some point. Dude gave me chills the first time I saw the ads for the game. I expected him to be the main villain, and I kind of consider him to be the main villain despite how the game plays out. Amazing character.
Loved the choices! I think you hit most of the best ones right off the bat. Personally, Kefka's the biggest batshit villain because of how much he lacks motivation in what he does besides just a general disdain and disregard for humanity. He is sane, he just doesn't have a single fuck. Some spoilers below for suggestions? Majora from Majora's Mask is pretty out there, without all the masks needed to defeat them, and the fact that it's an inanimate object that gained sentience through evil rituals in it's past and decides that a moon hitting the earth is a decent pastime, I think they fit here. Pretty much any Prime Evil in the Diablo series. Resident Evil has so many more fun ones like Albert Wesker, Lisa Trevor, Dr. James Marcus, Nemesis, Alfred Ashford, Alexia Ashford, Lucas Baker. Giygas from Earthbound. Stefano Valentini from The Evil Within, though he shares similarities with Sander Cohen from Bioshock. M.Bison from Street Fighter. Lavos from Chrono Trigger. Shodan from System Shock 2. David from the Last of Us, because fuck that guy. Micah Bell from RDR2. This is just personal I hate him and he's a straight up bastard. The Illusive Man from Mass Effect really loses himself by the end of the third installment. I can't think of who else to add to the list here from Silent Hill. Dahlia Gillespie? The Order? Pyramid Head? GLaDOS from Portal. and uhhh.... I think that's all I got for now.
Sander Coen was the point in the game where my sensibilities had had enough. The weight of all of Rapture's self-inflicted insanity reached a tipping point and had turned creepy in a way I hadn't experienced since over empathizing with Star Trek civilizations that destroyed themselves to the last man. I had to put it down for a while, but I sure am glad I finished it.
11:00 ok Armstrong is my new favorite character in video games the man gets humor and idc if he is a villain he is funny that I'd one big funny senator
Personally I would have chosen Ruvik from The Evil Within because the ENTIRE game world is influenced by his psychotic mind, turning everyone into monsters and even nearly turning Sebastian, aka the playable character into one too.
I remember the "Scissor Man" from Clock Tower being terrific on top of a serial killer.. and a pain in the ass gameplay-wise. And no mention of the main antagonist of "Hard rain" the Origami Killer? That one got a few screw loose. Also 12:48, nice shot ;)
Kefka wanted to become a god. He almost achieves it. However the only villain to fully achieve their goal is the first boss from FF1. That's right, Garland.
Most villains from the borderlands franchise could have made it on the list. Some have a few good intentions, however the way that they go about it is all wrong.
How did Handsome Jack not make this list? He's the best villain when it comes to skirting the line between genius and insanity. Not to mention, the entire BL2 story plays out as him believing he's the good guy doing what's necessary to save Pandora and you're just another bandit. He's the posterboy for "the road to hell is paved with good intentions".
Damn piggsy was a blast from the past I remember being terrified of him playing Manhunt even though I probably shouldn't have been playing that game but I turned out okay lol
James Bedford there’s actual plausible science to explain that one I can see that being done IRL with the right tech I don’t see how you survive having your head popped like a zit in any scenario
@@AveryPennewell thank you my friend, more coming soon just stuck on a verse right now, have an awesome day, appreciate your positive energy, goes a long way
Glad to see SH4 get some recognition. The game is pretty good but it's overlooked because it's not actually in Silent Hill. Walter was a great villain though.
