Tools from Dollar Tree can be enticing - mostly because of the price tag. But are these worth risking a dollar for? Well, these 10 are. Also, check out my video on the top 5 tools NOT TO BUY from Dollar Tree!
We have the twine and level at some of the ones in NC! They have come and gone depending on the one you go to so I think they just order the stuff that's selling or switch up what they order to get new things. I have all of those and agree as well. The little hack saw they sell sometimes has help get me out of a bind once or twice as well
It's a good thing I get deals at Dollar Tree when I see them because as the value of a dollar decreases with time so does the value of the products that Dollar Tree can supply. For example, you can't get that larger size leveler at the Dollar Tree anymore. Now they have a really cheap feeling smaller magnetic one. There's also a ton of other decent products they used to sell that were either discontinued completely or replaced with something else lower quality. Go ahead and look up Dollar Tree tape measure on Google Images. You'll see two different results for the 16-foot. Spoiler alert, the cheaper looking one is the newer one... Eventually this is going to start hurting the company. I've heard in the past that they had plans to start selling items higher than $1 but that seems to have fallen through or something.
@@jimmysgarage9068 yep I bought out all of those little tool boxes already at one store, I use them for soldering kits, small kit storage and battery storage I love them for organizing.
Nice video! I would've never thought about DT for tools, but I really need to get a Magnetic pick up tool, just didn't want to pay what most places charge for them. But I'll be getting one tomorrow for a buck! Thanks! 👍
The hacksaw is worthless unless you’re cutting butter, or maybe a PVC tube. Even then, it’s almost a single use item. The hand saw isn’t terrible for a $1 saw, but the handle will fall off. Thanks for watching!
Totally disappointed.....was waiting on you to bring out the pry bar, but sadly you never did !! I've used the dollar store pry bar more then anything on this list and i have almost all of those items. How could you not place the pry bar on this list ?
Only one I disagree with is the safety glasses. I'm not going to trust my eyes to a $1 pair of safety glasses. Losing your eyesight would be no joke, so I'd definitely go for the best name brand safety glasses available when I'm using the angle grinder / cutoff saw, etc.
I agree completely with that - I'd have great luck with these though. It's important to use a grinding shield when using an angle grinder, but I think these $1 glasses provide a great barrier between your eyes and the casual flying hazard!
I've got several of those little $1 toolboxes. One keeps the hot glue gun and sticks, another's got a soldering iron and solder, third one's got air compressor accessories... One of my favorite things from DollarTree used to be dust masks (until the DemPanic started and they all sold out). Works great keeping sawdust out of your nose and mouth (and like the masks everyone's been wearing around town for the past few months, does jack effing sh*t to stop the spread of viruses). =)
