10 Best Places to Live in Michigan for 2023 including best cities to live in Michigan and best places to live in Michigan for families.
Michigan is famous for being the bedrock of America’s auto industry, but the Great Lake State is as perfect a state as they come. Leave the harsh long winters aside, although you could start looking at the glass half full if you lived here long enough. For starters, Michigan has such an abundant natural beauty that is hard to match. No other state lays claim to such a wide stretch of freshwater shoreline as Michigan and its 3,000 miles of shore, with a million-and-one family-friendly attractions naturally built to encourage an active, outdoor lifestyle.
Everyone here happens to live within six miles of either a stream or a lake, but this should come as no surprise given the state has an astounding 11,000 inland lakes. From millions of acres of forests, to thousands of miles of scenic trails, golf courses and ski areas, 100 parks and recreation areas less one, and close to 10 million acres of public land, Michigan has it all.

Grand Rapids (#3) is a great place to live, but the video narrowed in on east grand rapids. The rich area. The high school has a yacht club... not a boating club, not a sailing club, a friggen yacht club. I would not want to live there.

So. There are no good cities to live in north of Lansing? You couldn't pay me enough to live down there. By the way there's this other part of the state called the Upper Peninsula that has a few small cities that I'd take any day over those on this stupid list.

Do you know if it's commuter-friendly and has good/decent public transportation, like buses and trains?

Does anyone in here who IS from Michigan, happen to know if FERNDALE would be a nice livable place for average single people (without families)? How is public transportation over there? Is getting around town gonna be OK even like for people who don't own a car? I am on a fixed income, and do not plan on commuting to Detroit much. I just wanna live in a nice safe quiet neighborhood all alone by myself; that is close proximity to basic amenities like grocery shopping, general stores, and public transportation. Absolutely DO NOT plan on raising a family anytime soon. Just lookin' to rent or buy a small home to live ALONE in peace, and possibly even RETIRE there. What is your advice or opinions on this? 🤔

I don't know about the public transportation but it's suppose to be a good centralized location to live.

@@fernoverbaugh4615 Yes, I've heard it's pretty close to everything and is a pretty small town in general... A car may not even be needed.

The opening shot is Chicago😂 The Hancock tower, the Chicago river, Lake Michigan which is on the western side of the state. Not even close to Detroit, Michigan’s inly big city, etc. Pretty dumb.😂😂😂

This video is a joke. A bunch of Detroit suburbs?? Really? I have lived in Michigan for decades and avoid the Detroit area like the Plague. The sunset coast of Michigan has one charming beach town after another. Google Saugatuck, Holland. Grand Haven, Traverse City etc if you want to see some truly spectacular places to live. I ski in the winter, boat and troll for salmon on Lake Michigan in the summer. Road trips to the Upper Peninsula to see Pictured Ricks National Lakeshore and countless waterfalls are a must. Sorry Detroit area, you can't compare.

Michigan sucks. Hot and humid in the summer, freezing cold in the winter. The eastern side of the state is a depressed joke. Whoever made this is massively trolling you.
