Stopped for a sec to comment because wow, first video I've seen that someone actually edited out the wake word. Very nicely done too. Not surprised to see other comments on that!
I got an echo dot for Christmas, previously i wasn't too fussed and didn't bother looking into them but great video, pretty convenient and useful features.
I love how you edited out the wake word, i just dont get why everybody cant just mute their alexa when watching these type of videos. thank you, youve helped a lot.
We use our device as an alarm clock and then you can also ask it to play any song you like to wake up to. I also use as a timer when cooking. I ask it the weather every day. I also ask it to spell something for me or trivia questions. It will also do math questions. You have to be careful because sometimes it will pick up on conversations when not prompted!
This is really weird.... In my Amazon Alexa setup at home.... I have had more than 100 "Routines" ---- which is Amazon's name for little programs that run based on events happening. For example, one routine might be triggered by a motion sensor. Then the routine causes all the lamps on that floor to turn on, etc, etc. Well..... Here's the weird thing..... I have deleted several such routines because I decided that I don't want them to do that any more..... Yet those routines are still doing what they were programmed to do. Even though they've been deleted! Apparently, they exist in Amazon's cloud.... and their software is so buggy that deleting a routine doesn't always delete that routine. 😣

I am getting wayyyyy too many commercials when I use Amazon echo to play the radio, especially when I want to hear sports talk stations. Every time I turn on the radio or change stations to a different sports radio show, I get a commercial from a sports gambling website. Am I suddenly going to begin betting on games after hearing the exact same commercial 100 times ??????? I tried setting the volume to ZERO instead of turning it off, just to avoid commercials but then the volume increases suddenly a few hours later for no apparent reason. And why is there a lag of 3-5 seconds when I have an FM radio in a different room turned to the same station ? When I first got Alexa I could say the name of the station but now I have to say "Play" prior to the name of the station. Most of the tips in this video were a complete waste of time. Horoscopes were probably useful in the middle ages, when the earth was still flat but only the mental defectives among us have an interest in this now.
Number 10 should really say control any lights or plugs etc if you have the relevant pieces of kit. I use Hive and the level of control via my Echo devices is fantastic. What about Alexa commands such as Announce and Drop In?

Call out with them through my phone. To. See how they are doing. Bc. 1 of my. Dogs. Talks back. Lol but haven't taught him to say ( ALEXA ) & MY AKITA He's trying to talk but again need to teach them to say Alexa. I actually. Taught both my Dogs to say. Everytime when im watching a video and the person says "ok Google" mine activates, that's why I'm buying Alexa lol Edit : I have Google on my phone lol I don't have the product
1. Turn off and on bedroom light. So, I don't have to walk around in the dark. Two. Set timer to turn on and off heater in my bedroom. So it's cozy at night, but off during the day. 3. Weather. 4. Time. 5. Timer for cooking. 6. Play classical music an hour before bedtime. 7. Alarm set in the morning to classical music. 8. Skills to read scriptures. 9. Play random music. 10. This day in history.
11. Add items to my calendar. 12. Grocery list. 13 to do list 14. Local radio station 15. Phone calls 16. Bedroom light it's on a timer to wake me up in the morning 17 play White Noise ocean sounds.
I was worried to watch a video about Alexa because I was sitting 2 feet from mine, but round of applause and big thank you for editing out the word ‘Alexa’. Very thoughtful aspect !
My friends and I have played Escape room, it's kind of annoying cause there arent many options and Alexa keeps declining any moves we try to make. But it's good to get you to think outside of the box and challenge yourself
How can so many people dislike a video that was amazing enough to not use the Alexa alert word all throughout? I mean 90% of the other Alexa videos out there do not have this basic level of intelligence!

I have a echo show 8 and would like more devices around the house. What's the best alexa to buy to team up with mine. It'll only be for music so just a speaker is fine
@@Fannabama ,You can actually change it to English (United Kingdom) or other options.. It does give you a warning that certain skills, etc. won't work, but it doesn't matter to me, I think it's brilliant. (Only a woman's voice though).

The video shows you have a Harmony Touch remote. Can this work for your TV/Sky box with Alexa without a hub? Or do you need a hub to make them talk to each other? Thx
Do you show in any of your video's on how to set them up, because im going to be new to getting one and Im clueless on what (She) all does, so any advice would be greatly appreciated? And once set up is she just programmed for the person that set it up only recognizes that particular voice only?
I got two dots and one google mini... I am going to be honest the google mini is so much more advanced. I am about to replace the dots. Google minis are so much faster in reacting too which for me was an eyeopener.
