I think if what happened with, Benoit hadn't happened. We might of got him Vs HBK or Bret Hart at WM too at some point in history of Mania. And Eddie vs so many others. *Edit... the Dominic Mysterio vs Rey Storyline world of been a lot different with Benoit and Guerreo still alive
Guerrero vs angle would have been crazy sick The amount of skill they both had The story they could have done Guerrero being the cheap guy could have been a heel but loved as a face Angle as a mega heel - Olympic athlete hating Guerrero for making wrestling a joke
It is unfortunate, but their career as the best performers during their prime days have inspired many others who would do a tribute if opportunity will present itself.
@@tobiaswilliamson00 How ironic and poetic would've been seeing Guerrero win the big gold belt that belonged from the same promotion (WCW) where the higher-ups never saw him main event ever.
@@madandy2008 it’s funny people think that plan was so horrible like Taker wasn’t in a Handicap match with Big Show & a Midcard A-Train with Unknown Debuting Nathan Jones as the guy he’s mentoring lmao Nathan Jones is no different than Snitsky or Heindenrich. at least Kane feuded with Snitsky & Taker feuded Heindenrich before & it made sense since Snitsky tried to help Heindenrich at the RR but Kane stopped it
@@MASTER3371 I think Undertaker learned his lesson about tag matches at WrestleMania from the Nathan Jones debacle. The match had to be changed from a tag to a handicap match because Jones was too green, which is why he instead did a run-in. I wouldn’t be shocked to find out Taker was concerned about a repeat of that with Heidenreich, given how Taker had become familiar working with Jon during the fall of 2004.
A bit of a shame Taker never faced Barrett at wm. Not saying i wanted Wade to end the streak, but i would've enjoyed seeing a Taker/Nexus feud, especially recalling that the Nexus cost Taker a buried alive match prior. A shame they didn't keep Wade as the Nexus leader going into wm.
As someone who didn’t watch Big Show’s “conflicted” gimmick during the Authority Era, it’s upsetting to see the big man sad about not getting his match with Shaq. I would watch that match.
@@thesprock5270 it could but I don't think its going to. I think Tony khan wasn't impressed with big shows wrestling thus far. Which makes sense yet doesn't. Khan loves the gymnastics crap so he would be a bad judge at the other style
Big Show was great in attitude. Hell, the dudes put in work for so long, let himself be insulted, his family be mocked, and himself constantly mocked, and kept at it. He’s the kinda guy who sacrificed it all for his fame, he truly deserves any match he wants.
How ironic it would've been. Ted DiBiase Jr. ending the streak to the same Phenom who DiBiase Senior introduced in 1990. If only management worked with him a little bit more than intended. And sad for Wade Barrett not going one-on-one with Taker at Mania 27.
@@TheMuldoonFella ted dibiase jr is my favorite wrestling what if, so many storylines could have been created based off stuff his dad did and he could actually go in the ring. Not 5 star classics but he didn’t have to be carried by someone to get a good match. The stuff with undertaker would have been cool, he could have made his own million dollar faction, have his gimmick to put bounties on ppls heads, it would have been awesome imo
@@loganwagler7997 hey i agree man, his charavter wouldve carried the fueds. You dont need to be a Bret Hart or Bryan Danielson in the ring. Character work, works. Ted couldve been a main eventer but alas here we are sadly
Taker vs Sting will always be one of those missed opportunities in wrestling. The one time that both men were in the same company, they never interacted. Could it still happen at some point? No - sure, Sting has apparently managed to no sell Father Time, but at this point the Undertaker is held together by duct tape and a prayer.
@@cassiusfelix2805 on one hand, Sting has managed to no sell Father Time rather well, and is still working matches - albeit he’s definitely mire limited in what he can do. On the other hand, I’m fairly certain that the Undertaker is held together by duct tape at this point. That second point pretty much kills any thought of the match occurring, nevermind it possibly being as good of a Dream Match as we’d’ve all hoped it’d be. Least we’ll still have the older games that had ‘Taker and Sting, make our own Dream Match…
Not exactly a match change, but originally Taker vs Orton at WM21 was supposed to see Orton kill the legend of the streak by having him beat Taker, but Orton refused out of respect to Taker.
The one match I would've loved to see more than anything at WrestleMania was HBK vs Eddie Guerrero that match could've been one of his greatest matches at Mania but sadly fate intervened R.I.P. Eddie
Other cancelled matches for Taker include Taker vs Abyss for Mania 26 but they couldn't get Abyss so they tried to do Taker vs McIntyre but then HBK decided he wants Taker to retire him so the plans changed and stuck with Taker vs HBK Streak vs Career
For years, I heard that the reason Abyss didn’t come over to WWE was because he wanted to break The Streak and wanted it in his contract. Vince balked and negotiations broke down. I have no idea if that’s true.
Another would be Taker opponent was apparently Abyss. Around 2005, they apparently considered giving Abyss a contract and putting him in a feud with Taker for Mania 22. But Abyss turned it down to stay in TNA. Not sure if this is entirely true, but honestly I would have liked to see that match. It would have definitely been better Taker vs Henry, which is what we got instead.
@@nickonite and Jon Moxley was one of The Druids at that Years Royal Rumble Doesn't change the fact that They wasn't on the Main Roster yet And Especially Punk since he just Signed with the Company few months ago and wasn't ready for it yet
Hopefully Shaq vs Paul Wright could happen in aew soon. I thought at Stone Cold vs Hulk Hogan would have been a dream match as well? And Undertaker vs Sting Wwe have done mess up everything.
@@burnthetrolls5971 Sting needed a top level heel to fight at Mania and HHH was a good choice. They had history: WWF vs. WCW, DX vs. nWo, it was right there. But Sting should've won. Also, I didn't understand why he went for the WWE Championship (he's 50, he doesn't need it). I know he doesn't like Authority figures, but wouldn't a feud with Kane make more sense? Then bring in the Deadman to avenge Kane at Mania. Sting wouldn't have gotten injured if it weren't for Rollins, so, it probably would've worked!
@@kevinfreitas6832 if the build with Taker vs Sting made sense yes it could've worked but HHH vs Sting the storyline they were given it made no sense Sting the last from the WCW hold outs fighting him I mean I could understand why Sting even said it was ridiculous
As someone who's favorite book series is A Seires of Unfortunate Events and someone who loves Adam's Undertaker nicknames... Lemony Wicked and The Series of Unfortunate Main Events made not only my day, but probably my entire month. I needed that laugh.
Speaking of the battle of the billionaires. According to Bruce Pritchard, Hardcore Holly was set to get a massive push and be Vince's champion going into the show against Bobby. However, the deep lacerations on ECW in 2006 ruled him out for a few weeks and therefore he was forgotten about in favour of pushing Umaga to lose to Bob
Andre the Giant's Memorial Battle Royale & the Women's Battle Royale in 2020 & 2021 because of the pandemic. I still don't understand why the women's didn't take place on the following Raw after WrestleMania 37. Nothing that special happened on that episode except Damian Priest losing his first match to Miz & Morrison, Maryse returned, and Alexa Bliss explained why she helped Randy Orton win.
Another for Undertaker was Hade Vansen. It was a dropped gimmick, it was a guy meant to be this dark cult leader literally having mutant followers. And the idea was Taker and his spooky magic vs Vansen and his legion of mutants. Vansen cut literally one promo only and was never seen again.
Shame Mick Foley didn't get that Mania 15 main event, he could have held his own in it. Taker vs Sting should have happened but sadly it never will. And damn, Cena vs Taker at Mania 32 might have honestly stole the show (since the rest of it was quite weak). Above all, it's for the best the continuous streak breaking plans failed and it was able to last as long as it did.
Technically either Angle/Henry ending The Streak would’ve happened at Wrestlemania 22. Angle would’ve been the original plan, considering the two positively stole the show at No Way Out 2006 over the WHC, but presumably Angle backed out after going over and was replaced by Henry in the casket match, who then proceeded to lose to Undertaker anyway.
Hearing Shawn Michaels vs. Eddie Guerrero was a possibility for Mania 22 is always heartbreaking (no pun intended). Two wrestlers who have never met in a one on one match, two different styles but very similar journeys, Goddamn I wish we got to see that match.
Despite Daniel Bryan having his WrestleMania Moment, I am down for a Triple Threat match between all three of the Evolution members. That would be great imo.
Correction, they should've done it for WrestleMania 26, cause 25 had Randy vs Triple H. Speaking of stable triple threat, they should've done shield triple threat for WrestleMania 32
Triple H vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania X8. I heard the original plan was for Austin to win the Undisputed Title & hold it until WrestleMania X8 where he'd face the 2002 Royal Rumble Match Winner, Triple H. But for some reason Steve didn't wanna play ball & Vince decided to go for Triple H vs. Kurt Angle until it was changed to Triple H vs. Chris Jericho in the main event. I SERIOUSLY wish we could've seen Triple H & Steve Austin fight at WrestleMania X8. It would've been a CLASSIC.
The Debiase Jr one could have been an epic story, his father coming back to tell him that the Undertaker is basically Mythic and can't be beaten at WM, along with IRS, Virgil and making more legends that accompanied his father telling him similar, the story could've been amazing but we'll never know
@@SomeDumbKid1 I'm not saying he was good but you can make something out of pretty much every one at a certain level. Do you feel like Levesque carried himself like a star before becoming triple H? I just would have loved if Anyone unestablished would have gotten the rub.
The streak never should've been broken period. Not every goddamn thing in the industry has to be sacrificed at the alter of putting some new guy over. And this is a PERFECT example of it. Imagine sacrificing one of the most legendary things in the business to put over a guy who didn't even stay in wrestling. The Streak was something the fans loved, and it should've stayed. For the fans. Using it to put someone over is absolutely idiotic. If you're not extremely well established, you haven't earned it. If you are, then you don't need it. Either way, let the fans have it.
Taker vs Sting is the match that always got away... but also the match that I'm glad never happened because whatever's in your head is better than the match that would have been so be thankful I guess.
I know many people would go for HBK Vs Eddie as their dream match here (and I would too), but dammit Cena vs Hogan would honestly be such a monumental match in itself. Just the cultural divide between the adults fans who grew up with Hogan, against the younger demographic who Cena's catered to is enough for me to love it 😂
Some Dream matches that wish could’ve happened: Undertaker vs Sting John Cena vs Samoa Joe Kane vs Abyss Aj Styles vs Shawn Michaels Goldberg vs Ryback CM Punk vs Aj Styles Edge vs Bray Wyatt “The Fiend” Kharma vs Nia Jax Charlotte vs Beth Pheniox Aj Lee vs Sasha Banks Aj Lee vs Alexa Bliss(original character) Roman Reigns vs The Rock
This was a SummerSlam Dream Match but it would've been interesting at WrestleMania. In 2012, Dean Ambrose was gonna face Mick Foley as the two were hardcore at the time and also Ambrose had been calling out Foley. Foley refused because this was around the time he wanted to stay retired but went to Impact Wrestling (TNA) as a consultant for the network. I might be wrong though.
I don't really know what to call it, but a top ten great matches that were poorly received at the time. Like I watched the 2012 Royal Rumble recently and it's fantastic; but at the time because Sheamus won it had folks up in arms
Took me a good three watches to realise that when Adam said "Sheik Tugboat", he meant that Tugboat was going to be a sheik, not that the main event of Wrestlemania 7 was going Tugboat vs. the Iron Sheik. That would've been... something... 😖
For WM 22, it was originally meant to be Orton v Batista for the title instead of HHH v Batista, but Orton’s face run flopped so bad that it was changed around.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Big Show vs SHAQ at Double or Nothing since it's right ahead of the NBA Finals, or on a special Dynamite in early May when TNT has the NBA Conference Championships
just imagine the crowd at wrestlemania 27 as the undertaker and sting stared into each others cold eyes, neither man moving an inch, then suddenly the ref calls for the bell to start the match! dont worry because at least we got lawler vs cole
Shane McMahon with "The best working punches in all of WWE" is a Golden call from Adam xD! I guess just punching them counts as *working punches*, right? Like, "Those punches sure are working", lol
Undertaker was supposed to wrestle abyss at WrestleMania 22. Funny how Sting was too injured to wrestle Undertaker, but Sting is just fine in AEW. Was Sting just scared or is it because Sting is more comfortable with the smaller AEW wrestlers.
Yes Daniel Bryan deserved that WWE championship at Wrestlemania funny roman numerals but honestly old or not I kind of wanted to see the Evolution triple threat. Especially since Batista was on his way out very soon anyway so they might as well have done it,
Damn I clearly remember when Power 106 announced that Eddie Guerrero had passed. I was in Middle School, close to Thanksgiving break and we were taking down decorations in our classroom. We had the radio on blast and then...bam they announced it. All of us were quiet, shocked and sad...the next day WE ALL HAD A WRESTLING MATCH IN THE GUYS RESTROOM! 😂
Charlotte, Becky, and even Rhonda had already shown they could throw together a better match than that. But we had to have an anti-climax to prove....what was the story again? Pro Wrestlers have cheap pin supoerpowers? 7+ hours of suffering to get there didn't mean anything to Vince? Becky vs. Rhonda started out as the hottest feud in all of wrestling, but they had to kill it somehow, I guess. That'll teach us to cheer WWE's chosen heels and boo their chosen faces.
Taker&Kane were suppose to face Snitsky&Heidenreich in a tag bout at i think Mania 21 and Snitsky was suppose to pin Kane. Takers streak would've ended without him getting pinned...... Thank Vince for changing that plan
