Thank you for showcasing a Miss Read book. They are my very favorites, and I have read read them all multiple times. They are excellent as audiobooks. The illustrations are also great.

First time listening to you. Found you by "accident." I subscribed because you seem to like similar bks. ( one being clean romances) AND you mentioned 2 of my favorite book channels; Jenn Reads and Miranda Mills 😊😊🤗🤗 Another one I really enjoy is Gina Stanyer. She has quite the collection of Miss Read bks, Rosamunde Pilcher ( she got me going on R.P. and I am now collecting all her bks. (trying to). My first one was Winter Solstice because Gina talked SO MUCH about it. FANTASTIC!! My favorite illustrator or one of is Tasha Tudor. Also EB. Shepherd. I used to have every bk. Tasha ever published, prints, notepads, her sketchbk, many books about her life. Such a fascinating woman. One of MANY who started writing/illustrating to support their family. Will look forward to your posts. Did you say "Eight Bks." for the 2nd hand book shop? Thank you!

Yay! I'm so glad you're here!! 🥰❤️ I've actually watched/followed Gina before, but I'd forgotten about her channel for a couple months. I've been catching up with her again recently. She also made me really interested in Rosamund Pilcher! I've only read one of her books and I really want to read some more! Do you have one that you think would be a good spring/summer read? That's amazing!! Tasha Tudor is one of my all time favorite people. I agree, she was such a fascinating woman! I have her cookbook and some of the recipes have become my favorites. Abebooks.com is the online website that I get many of my books from secondhand. I've always had a very positive experience using it! ❤️

I have purchased many of your recommendations... thank you so much. I have one that stick out from my younger years and I re-read it recently, "Calico Captive", I think I was in about 6th grade (I'm now 73 yrs. young). The other I have read several times and given it as gifts .. it is 'Eat Cake'. Love a good read and as do a good knit or crochet. Hugs to you.

First off, thank you so much for mentioning my channel! And I’m so glad I prompted you to start making videos again. 🥰 This video was so lovely. Second, I think every book you talked about here is either a favorite of mine or is on my TBR! We are kindred book spirits. And Miss Buncle Married is as good or maybe even better than the first book. I love them both. And I hope you enjoy the Mary Stewart. I haven’t read that one in a long time and now you’ve made me want to reread it! 😊

I found your channel a couple of weekends ago when I was sick and it was such a good distraction from feeling ill! You mentioned so many books that were old favorites of mine or sounded like I would really enjoy them, so I definitely felt like you were a book kindred spirit. 🥰 Now I'm even more excited to read Miss Buncle Married! I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was one of the first D. E. Stevenson books I read. And I'm hoping I can fall in love with Mary Stewart too, if only because she has SO MANY books so it would take me quite a while to read them all. 😁 I didn't dislike the one I read. I just had a harder time getting into it which is why I'm suspicious it may have been a timing thing. I'll definitely let you know what I think about this one. The synopsis sounds so good!!

I feel like spring is usually used as a transitional season to show the passage of time or a new beginning rather than being focused as the setting for the whole book. That's probably why it's harder to find just spring focused books. Wonderful list! My TBR will be expanding.

Secret garden was cholera. Took me a long time to finally read it as that part scared me and I hated I couldn’t pronounce the word and no idea what was going on with everyone dead or screaming. Once I did though it be a a favorite

Aren't they just so good? I'm definitely going to try to read them in order. I like reading all series in the correct order even if they say you don't have to. And Gina Stayner is another booktube channel that I love! I'm so glad you found some books to add to your wishlist! 💕

I will be reading The Secret Garden for the first time this month. 🙂You mentioned being a fan of Georgette Heyer's mysteries...which one is your favorite? I'm hoping to read Footsteps in the Dark soon.

The Secret Garden is such a wonderful story. I hope you love it! It has been a while since I read the Georgette Heyer mysteries so I can't remember a specific one standing out as a particular favorite. I just looked up the summary for Footsteps in the Dark and I think that is actually one I haven't read yet!! I'll have to add that to my TBR for this year. 😊

Thank you so much!! I do really enjoy middle grade books. Many of my favorite books are in the children's book category. 😊 I haven't heard of The Grace of Wild Things so I'm going to look it up. Maybe my library will have it available. Thank you for the recommendation!! ❤️
