100% listen to Jennette McCurdy as an audiobook (it's on Scribd)! I think because it was adapted from her comedy stand up show of the same name, the fact that she narrates the audiobook means you get the full experience/appreciation of her dark humour vs if you were reading it - can't wait to hear what you think in another video 🙆🏻♀
Excited for so many of these! Been hearing so much about the Jennette McCurdy, sounds great. If you’re interested in the complexities of the ethics around using child actors, and if you haven’t already read it, I recommend reading Sarah Polley’s essay collection Run Towards The Danger (side note: she’s directed the Women Talking film adaptation that’s coming out this winter). The book is great, and dives pretty deep into her complicated experiences as a child actor. Thanks for another great vid. You the best!
I’m currently listen to im glad my mom died atm and I’m loving it so far I’m like 1/4 of the way through and really finding the mechanics of child stardom interesting
One world is probably my fav indie publisher too! I know historical fiction is not always your thing but based off your reading this year, I think you’d love the mountains sing which is published by them!
Thank you for this video 💖 I have pre-ordered Babel by RF Kuang coming out 1st September and I cannot wait! I was lucky to get an e-arc of her upcoming literary fiction book Yellowface and loved it so much I had to have Babel. Not long to wait now! 😁
Some of the books that I'm excited for are 'The Marriage Portrait' by Maggie O'Farrell 'Little Eve' by Catriona Ward 'The Ruin of All Witches' by Malcolm Gaskill
My comment seems to have been deleted but I love this type of video so much! I am nervous about the new Less novel as well but also curious 🌝 most excited for Bliss Montage and Angie Cruz’s new novel, this fall is jam packed with new releases 🥳
Thanks for your video, Grace! I'm putting this Celia Dale novel on my TBR list right now. By the way, if you haven't read any of Roald Dahl's weird and creepy adult short stories, maybe you should check them out. I read them first as a teenager and loved them, and I still keep them on my shelf for a fun little read from time to time
I was waiting for you to mention the new Less book & understand your conflict. Also I have Less in paperback so do I want the sequel in hardback? No I do not but can I wait? I am also annoyed when publishers rebrand an author's books & they don't match - criminal!! They should publish a cover like the old ones along with the new cover - it is very upsetting.
Hi Grace, Great video!! Could you give us the link to the book reviews page you use to discover new books? I think it was something with Book Cellar, but I'm not quite sure. Thank you :)
