Lmao the beginning cracks me up but truly shows the kind of competitive nature these guys have. He wasn't satisfied with top 10. He wanted top 5 at minimum 😂
@@kurtisgibbs6698we did have the second worst defense his first year and we were a play here and there from the superbowl, so that honestly might be true. I will say if Mahomes consistently can get an above average defense I don’t know how he won’t win the Super Bowl every season.
@@tat5157 KC has been top 10 in fewest points allowed 3 of his 5 seasons. They were 16th in yards and points allowed last year. Exactly mid. He hasnt had a BAD defense since 2018, and even that defense lead the nfl in sacks. It's amazing a defense could lead the nfl in sacks and be awful, but they were.
He just got top 10 and the #1 D-Tackle on the list. He’s underrated if you’re a casual, if you’ve been watching he’s been the best defensive player on a team that’s won 2 Super Bowls.
week 2 colts should have ended the game with a Win, a sack, a forced fumble, and a forced fumble recovery (while holding matty ice) week 4 raiders end of first half same thing had a strip sack fumble and recovery TAKEN AWAY BY CARL CHEFFERS WITH A PERSONAL FLAG
He should be in the top 5. He had a prime AD type season and helped his team win the Super Bowl. I can't even count how many game ending plays he made for us last year. Dude is inhuman.
With all due respect to Bosa, I feel like he was definitely robbed from DPOY. Chris Jones won championships and put the team on his back. His leadership. His menacing presence on the field. Come on NFL! but i understand. The CHiefs has gotten to a point where we can't win every trophy and be on every Madden cover
I agree this years list was super whack. How do you not have Creed Humphrey, Joe Thuney, Trey Smith, Nick Bolton, Ladarius Sneed, none of those guys on this list. They disrespected the hell out of the Chiefs this year. From beginning to end.
Huh? Since 2018 the chiefs have had the 32nd, 16th, 27th, 28th, and 11th ranked defenses lmao. They always give up a shit tone of yds and td’s so they cant really be exposed all that much. Just last season they gave yp the most passing td’s, had the worst pass defense and the 32nd ranked red zone defense.
Chris Simms puts it perfectly. He fucks plays up. The ultimate play fucker upper. His counting stats are good but holy shit when you watch him he just shits on ridiculously talented olineman. Bulls them, shifts the hands and go right by. Even in doubles he pushes with the best of em. He’s such a dominating presence. And things look scarily easy most days.
The Chiefs could have lined him up outside vs the Bengals plenty of times in previous meetings, but were holding onto that wrinkle for the right moment.
Ok, I was at the Championship game, before the cameras switched back to the field he was inside, I saw him yell at Dunlap and point for him to go inside, he shrugged and moved over. We see how that turned out. No one has ever pointed that out.
Man the Jones brothers are a different fucking breed. Chris jones top 3 defensive players in the NFL and little brother Jon Jones is the greatest fighter in UFC history. Absolutely insane. 🤣💀
i was so mad when they called that play on the raiders roughing the passer. i said it then that they cheated you and im saying it again now! hope you stay in KC Big Fella!
Great player, but if I was the Chiefs? I wouldn't pay him either. I'm not just saying that because I'm a Broncos fan either. The Patriots showed everyone how you continue long term unchallenged success at the top. You only pay 2-3 guys on the roster top of the market money. You trade the others at their maximum trade value for capital, and you scout well enough to reload. Simple as that. Fans fall in love with the name on the back of the jerseys too much, when they should be in love with the name on the front more. Mahomes, Kelce, and maybe one more guy should all be getting the best contracts at their positions in the league on that roster. But? You never pay a 29 year old Defensive tackle top of the market money. They have bodies that break down faster than most other positions. Rumors are he's asking for 32-35/year over 4 years? You're crazy. I'd be shopping him for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Then, I'd be signing some other edge guys to replace his production, and have Spagnuolo run the Nascar type fronts with like Karlaftis, Jadeveon Clowney, Justin Houston, and some other guys. They would have to sign Clowney, and Justin Houston. But, you don't resign Jones when it could cost you your young linebacker core, or offensive line core. You just don't do it. Sorry but I'd be trading him for the best offers out there. Honestly should have probably been shopping him before this past draft. Fans would have been angry, but you could have maximized his value right after winning the Super Bowl. Now? People know he's playing hard ball with the Chiefs in negotiations, so when they come to the table to make trade offer? They are going to say "We have to shell out this enormously large contract negotiation, and give you all this draft capital?" Chiefs fumbled this whole process from the beginning. You can't try and keep the fan favorites in town, while also keeping your Super Bowl window wide open. It doesn't work that way. You need to pick one, or the other. You can't try and do both at the same time. I applauded them for trading Hill for what they did. They made the right move and still won the Super Bowl. Imagine all the future draft capital Chris Jones will net the Chiefs? If they keep him? Mark my words? It will cost them further down the line. Could cripple them enough to force them to let a Creed Humphrey, Tray Smith, Joe Thuney, Nick Bolton, Willie Gay, or L'Jarious Snead to walk later on down the line. Not something that they should be ok with happening. Next year I think Snead, and Gay are up for deals. Year after? Bolton, Smith, Humphrey, and Thuney decisions are needing to be made.
Patriots paid DT, OL, and QB , the rest can walk. So you are almost right, but they did let Wilfolk walk when he got in his 30's. Jones might be to old to play this card now. I guess your Broncos are doing it right 😂😂😂😂
The true reincarnation of #58. Chris Jones just like Derrick is a true wonder to watch. They even look a like if you compare their pics side by side. KC has been fortunate to have two dominant players and Chris Jones will go down in history as one of the best to ever do it. GO CHIEFS!
Don't near have the motor DT had. Truth be told, DT had one of the quickest 1st steps and was unstoppable turning that corner. DT had a total of 30 sacks his first 2 seasons. In 7 seasons, DT had 85 sacks, while Chris has 65 sacks. Yes, he rushing from a different position, but he still got doubled many times. He created way more fumbles and tackles for loss than CJ. If not for the rings, Chris would have a hard time making the NFL HOF.
@kccryptkeeper4874 well you're comparing an interior DT to a DE/OLB, so it's not really an apples to apples comparison. Yes, Jones & Donald play the same positionn so that's a closer comparison, but I believe the DT reference was because Jones is a KC Chief. Donald is stronger and more consistent than Jones.
Just think.... everyone involved, is going to let 5 million dollars, cause Jones to leave the Chiefs in 2024. Makes me sick. But here we are. He already said "Chiefs for life"... but if that actually was the case, he would be at camp. Sad. But at least he will ball out this year, so another team will pay him 33-35 mil a year. He will set the record, after helping Chiefs to repeat.
The amount isn't the problem, he wants his contract nearly fully guaranteed, so he won't be easily cut after he turns over 30 years old, chiefs are being cautious after the Eric Berry situation.
Sorry Aaron but Chris has had better help the past 2 seasons and it's making the difference, Chris Jones is the best dline man out there right now, it doesn't get better than him...
So fucking mad about him losing TWO SACKS last year to completely BOGUS penalties. Look at the carr sack in this video, and the sack on Matt Ryan that would have won the chiefs game against Indy.
