This was definitely helpful, especially that Custom Style tip, because Dad's email had me like "No Buster, no chips!? You want me to S-rank them in a staring contest!?" 😂😂😂

I think it's worth mentioning that to gain S+ rank with custom style you need to do it under 5 seconds. Even if you achieve S Rank through triple deletion you still won't get special chip if you take longer than that. Also there's second hidden rank which requires to do the same without opening the custom screen a second time meaning you have to do it with your opening hand (otherwise you could use Fast Custom/Full Custom to get another turn within the time limit)

There's a 2nd layer to the cust style as well to where it matters if you've opened your cust screen during battle or not as well. So if you use fullcust, then s-rank using standard chips, you can get a different chip code than if you just simply s-ranked. This is considered S+ ranking while not opening your cust screen is S++ ranking. This is helpful to know if you're looking at chip guides.

It is, pair it with the Heatspread PA and you've got the classic Disco Inferno combo. Slap a Copydamage on an out of range target and you've got yourself a screen nuke provided the enemies stay on their side of the field. It's one of the best ways to get past a certain postgame obstacle, though I'd recommend Muramasa with Copydamage for an easier to draw combo for that.

Fun Fact: Molegra’s can be damaged while hiding, but it must be an attack that damages a panel (ex. GutsMan’s hammer, PlantMan, FlashMan, etc). Apparently X-Panel chips also damage them but I’m not remembering how much damage they do. Also the Viney virus is commonly assumed that you can only damage it through the vine which is actually not completely true. Any Fire attacks that hit the main body of a Viney will hurt it and do Double Damage. (x4 if on a Grass Panel)

Quick thing about custom style. You can use Mega Chips like Hero Sword, but using Navi chips (and probably any screen dimming mega chips) will not count for getting the special chip. I was able to get Big Wave using Hero Sword P, which I highly recommend for the custom style only chips Thanks for the video, it has really good advice :)

That charged bug rock shot might be the reason I start up a white playthrough. But great video, cause I only knew 3 & 4 growing up. It's also a good video for anyone who's trying to use the Apprentice folder, I think it's that one, for the time trials. I wanted to give it a shot with the extra folder that I had, and I ended up learning about how to use metalman beyond just the first tile ahead of you, that rock shot 200hp chunk, and how prism actually functions, just from forcing myself to use that folder after seeing someone else easily do the time trials with it. But I went in there thinking I might be able to complete one or two of them, but I walked out of there last night with just bowlman and darkman left to complete.

There's one small thing that the Jealousy chip in the thumbnail reminded me of. Hidden Enemy chips. Some enemies, like Swordy, Gutsman, Flashman, Protoman. Will use Area grab. However, this is not considered a chip as it would be in PVP, so you can't use Beat or Cut in with another screen dim.chip, BUT, you CAN use jealousy and Damage them for each time they would use it, AND keep theme from using it again. However, Kingman's variant, Plan B will not work for this. As it is considered an Action, only Area grab and Stage changing enemies like Dominerd will be affected.

I have a few suggestions if you will make another confusion clearers video in the future: 1.) BlackBomb - Some players may think that its only useful when comboed with a fire chip or with heat style, but there are plenty other ways to trigger the explosion. These include fire projectiles from enemies such as Spikey, throwing them on lava panels, or even on fire type viruses themselves (does double damage too since they got hit by both the bomb and the explosion). The bomb itself can also break through guards. 2. Bug Stop and Bug Style - Even with bug stop equipped, it is very likely that players will attain the bug style when majority of battles are played with a bugged navicust. This is because even though the presence of bugs isn't felt during battles, the game still gives you bug style points (higher the points for a certain style, higher chances you will attain said style). 3. Barrier - Besides protecting you from damage, the barrier also protects you from certain environmental effects such as Windbox's wind and Flashman's flash stun. 4. Hole and Dark Giga Chips - Dark Chips such as Bass, Serenade, and Dark Aura require the hole chip or the Dark License navicust program to be used otherwise they just poof into thin air. However, placing the hole itself isn't enough. You need to wait for it to open, and only when it is opened, you can activate the dark chip.

For the bug subject, the bugs aren't "random" (not that he said they were). They always (seem) to relate to whatever program is not following the rules (buster has issue, then youll have the misfire bug). Where this is particularly useful, there is a program called "collector" in most of these games. It makes it so all battle results give chips. If you error it, it does the opposite, and this is perfect if your grinding bosses you dont need the chips of (like challenging dex) for bugfrags, and always make zeny off those fights

In either bn2 or bn3 you can use prism and a seed that summons woodman's tree spikes on it to bug out the game and basically do infinite damage. I think it works because the seed and the prism can occupy the same square, the seed takes like two seconds to summon the spikes, and for every FRAME they share the same square they proc the 120 or so damage on the prism. Legit so busted.

Thank you for your compliment, pal! I rarely play PvP in any games but as a kid I always thought the classic Gutsman or Geddon1 into Snake was really cool. Grass Stage and Bamboo swords, Lance is a really cool chip that most people loved too!

I sometimes neglect copy-dmg when I don't want chips that are useless in some really important cases, but this is one of my favorite chips before even considering the extra benefits, so satisfying. It'd be kinda nice if it somehow still did something when there's only a single target, especially cause that's strue for probably most of the harder fights. Tbf, it works with basically any folder, and can round out that strong single-target that gets you through those cases where copy is useless, * means you can easily put it at the end of a turn to get it out of the rotation.
@waynemidnight7454
@waynemidnight7454 Год назад
That makes me wonder if you can use on the Navis in the game. Like, if you hit Metalman, then damage the Gears on the field, will he take the damage too? What about Flameman's Candles or those annoying Bubbles that Bubbleman spawns?
@Gnurklesquimp2
@Gnurklesquimp2 Год назад
@@waynemidnight7454 There's some weirdness between how normal enemies, mobs that support a boss and stage objects are coded, so I'm not sure. I don't think it works with stage objects (Time bombs etc.), but I'm not certain what counts as what, experiments between different fights can lead to unexpected resutls in these games. Another thing I never fully tested: Let's say there's 3 enemies and the middle one has copy on it, then you use like a spreader to hit them all, does the marked target receive 3x dmg from the attack? I'm sure it does at least 2x, but I was never able to verify specifics.

With the legacy collection here and all, I would like to leave a valuable postgame hint: During the Secret area you will have to deal with those numbered monoliths, problem is, sometimes you have to kill two at the same time, with 250 HP each, IN ONE HIT! 3 things: Grass Stage (either Battlechip or navicust program) + BulkBomb (130 fire damage once hit by fire attack) + any fire attack on the bomb (if you're any Heat style, you're set for life with the Bulkbombs!) Guaranteed 260 fire damage on the entire enemy field. 340 if you use Bulkbomb 2 (Defeat Flashman in every variation and open his security cube in Undernet 2).

@daniellongo6583
@daniellongo6583 Год назад
The jealousy image was used as thumbnail art to simulate confusion. Jealousy and Twin chips do have some playability within the game but for arguments sake let's just say they are angled more towards PvP. Jealousy deals damage if enemies have chips, so you can use it on enemies that steal territory as they have AreaGrab hidden from sight (Swordy virus is a good example of this)
