These 3 other Olympic moments shocked me the most: *Olympic organizers referring to South Korea as North Korea *The Wrong national anthem played for South Sudan during Men’s Basketball event *The Olympic flag raised upside down during the opening ceremony
@@justlutra That "you"was meant neutrally, wasn't meant to address anyone In German, we'd say "man" in that case, but afaik, there's no real equivalent in English. And frogs are eaten in France, by the way
I still cannot comprehend someone in charge saying ‘let’s not give the athletes AC’ …IN SUMMER….and nobody thought this would be a major problem?? 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
I don't know if this has been mentioned yet in the comments, but what about 60% of the food that they are offering to the athletes is plant-base protein, and they are restricting all of the animal-base protein. It gotten so bad, that both the UK and AS teams had to fly in their own supply of it and hired chefs as well.
@@jimbo9208 Apparently they've been doing it since 2018 and got away with it every time until last week when they were finally caught. The men's World Cup team spied on a Honduras practice a couple years ago prior to a match. But now Soccer Canada needs to ban the use of drones by any staff member.
@@ImissVine782 The reason is much more stupid. The Olympics cancelled the video game series for esports and NFTs. They cancelled a beloved video game series for the scum of the earth in NFTs. A lot of people, including myself, are predicting that the Olympics are going to be beating themselves up for that stupid move and try to get the series revived.
If you're at the point where ppl are debating if the 1936 opening offered more entertainment that this year's, then you REALLY must've Fd up the ceremony!...🤣🤣
The football match between Argentina and Morocco was very controversial. Could have been avoided in the first place had the referee checked the video to verify the goal.
LOL,this video just scratches the controversies of the Paris Olympics :one of the performer's testicle appeared to be hanging out of their underwear , they told a brazillian surfer to hide or remove the image of Jesus on his surf board or he won't be allowed to participate in the games, the thai and algerian competitors allegedly trans which compete in female boxing (though ,i'm not sure how in a country like Algeria where the main religion is islam will allow trans competitor ) , announcing South Korean team as North Korean . The Paris Olympics are a disaster tbh .
nevermind the algerian transboxer,a female boxer called Joana Nwamerue has met him on a competitionand they were in a sparring session and he told her that he's gonna smash cause he's a man and that he will feel his manly strength and that he's a man but for the others he's a woman . She gave an interview in one of our big media groups .
@@danielivanov930No performer had a testicle hanging out. He was wearing stockings of some kind, probably pantyhose, and that rips easily. Apparently, the hole got bigger and bigger as the performance went on.
@@jennifergreen6510 ahh ,just saw a second image where the pantyhose is ripped and it's more clear . Thanks for the correction . Some youtube channels reported on this but didn't correct themselves afterwards. There's so much screw ups in Paris olympics that by the time something gets debunked ,several pop up 😬
@maeannengo4908 the fat person in the middle even posted about it. Then she deleted it. Coward now playing the victim. They even had a youn kid next to a naked trans. These are sick perbs
Sports for centuries have always been something that has bonded people from different backgrounds. These Olympic games have been the exact opposite of that.
You forgot the one where they made the Palestinian swimmer remove his swim cap bc it has their flag on it. Even though every other athlete has a flag on their cap. 😮
The other athletes come from actual countries with presidents/prime ministers/functioning government etc., and did not simply receive an invitation to participate (;
@@razka8281 Stop. Your logic is flawed. That's not how you go to the Olympics when you represent an underrepresented country. You don't just get invited. You still have to qualify. Palestine is a country under occupation. Like Vietnam was by the US, Like South Korea was by the US, and Honduras, and Nicaragua, and Guyana, and PR, and the Philippines like Lebanon was by Israel, Ireland by the British, Congo by Belgium, and Indigenous in the Americas by the British. A country is a country because the people say it is, (although recently, also because the UN says it is.) Not random occupiers, or the US and their friendly conspirators looking to loot land and resources. Before you say their government are terrorists, the US also called MLK a terrorist. They called Malcolm a terrorist. But not Winston Churchill, not King Leopold who hacked off children's limbs in the Congo, not the KKK who tied Malcolm's father to railroad tracks and lynched and disemboweled pregnant women. Not Israel who has massacred almost 200,000 and displaced/ethnically cleansed nearly 2,000,000 people. You're always a terrorist when you fight for your freedom using the same methods they use to oppress you.
I find Tokyo and Beijing Winter Olympics showcases more genuine and unartificial social sensitivity and friendship that Paris Olympics feel overshadowed by a gaudy hedonistic party vibe
If the Olympics are to showcase not just the athletes but the culture and values of the hosting nation, there should be some tolerance toward images from the opening ceremony as they represent what the host country celebrates. The controversy over the Feast of the Gods was stupid. It was engineered by some gaslighting christocentric morons who think the world should revolve around religion put on a pedestal.
I didn't understand what 'The last supper', a painting by an Italian Artist, had to do with France. Especially since it's displayed in an Italian gallery.
The only people who have been "mocking" God are those who claim to believe in him while hating people who are different, people who are ignorant, & don't like outsiders. Look at what happened to Sodom because of that & if you actually read that story, you would know that it was about people who were being inhospitable, suspicious, & hostile towards outsiders, not gay people. The Olympics have never done anything regarding religion, why the hell would anyone think they'd start now? Oh right, the "Christians" who pretend that they are being "persecuted" do that because they are self-centered & believe that the world should revolve around them. That's another thing your God doesn't like.
Watching Angela Carini crying as she apologized to her dad for loosing her Olympic boxing match to a transgender male was very difficult to watch. Brought a tear to my eye. I used to really enjoy the Olympics but needless to say I am not watching.
dude stop even she knew she was wrong and the boxer from Algeria. she can't be transgender because it's illegal there. women can gave xy chromosome and that info is probably false too
Lord, take us to the good old days of Rio 2016; my introduction of the Olympics which made me become a fan. With the exception of Israel slander, dirty swimming pools, and a bad judging call, it was a fairly uncontroversial Olympic games for Olympic standards. For France, it's every half-hour that something blows up the internet for the worst.
I feel like 2024 Olympics is getting political, from banning Russia because of war but not Israel nor North Korea. But I'm still happy my country win 1 gold medal🥇🇵🇭
Not to mention about 2024 wich The Olympics cancelled their deal with Nintendo about the game of super Mario Olympics game because of Nft, Btw, Any of these scandals could be bad but the 1s with Drones privacy invasion and wich evolve injuries is already bad enough
I think it’s the end of times when Nintendo picks NFTs over making a new game for the Nintendo Switch. 10 years ago, we didn’t know what an NFT is. Video games are forms of media that will be historically significant for generations to come.
Imagine being so immersed in Christianity that you don’t understand references to Greek culture, such as the fact that the Olympics originated in Greece. For instance, the white horse and its rider symbolize the goddess of the Seine River, which was the backdrop for the event and represents the Olympic spirit, rather than death or an apocalyptic horseman. The party you think is a parody of the Last Supper is actually a Greek bacchanal-a lavish, noisy festival that lasted several days, held in ancient Greece to celebrate events like the Olympics. And the blue figure isn’t a parody of Jesus Christ; it’s Dionysus, the Greek god of fertility, wine, and pleasure. Also, the Olympics celebrated physical prowess and divine favor, concepts linked to the symbolic power of the bull in Greek culture. The world doesn’t revolve around Christianity, and not everyone aims to offend Christian followers. If your ignorance and lack of cultural knowledge lead to offense, that’s on you.
It wasn't even the intention to copy 'the Last Supper'. They were showing a bacchanal with Dionysus and Sequana (the goddess of the Seine) to honour the Olypics' roots in ancient Greece. They apologized anyway, because you can't win an argument with stupid angry people. They're just going to believe what they want anyway.
a bunch of NPC behavior in these comments. if you think ALGERIA is gonna let someone transition you must be delusional. it’s quite literally illegal to be trans or transition there.
Exactly; they let a bunch of rightwing lunatics from the US convince them that a man was representing conservative Muslim Algeria in a women's boxing match
No, he/she didn't. A hungarian boxer will compete against him/her today 16:30 CEST. (I don't know which pronoun to used to avoid offending anyone. 😮💨🥵)🟥⬜🟩🥊
#1 really deserved to be in this place. I'm pretty sure what happened in Ukraine and Gaza, especially after the recent death of Ismail Haniyeh (Hamas de facto leader) for the latter's case might led to WW3.
I’m disappointed as a Christian in how people are treating the Drag Queens during the Opening Ceremony. They are really getting to the point where performers like Nicky Doll are suing against these awful people for defamation. This shows that people are still xenophobic and don’t do a ton of research until pointing fingers since they are instilled by the “Christian Persecution Complex.”
lol, writing for Science. No demonstrable difference? Name a sport with a transgender athlete and tell me they are not in the top tier from nearly the start? Weightlifting? Yes. MMA? Yes. Swimming? Yes. Boxing? Yes.
@@CoolCjstar I already gave examples. But e.g., "A new weightlifting record has been broken by Laurel Hubbard, a transgender weightlifter from New Zealand, after winning twice in this year’s IWF World Weightlifting Championships" reports one news site. Mountain bike racer Leia Schneeberger won a major race 3 years in a row until a biological man came along as a transgender woman. how he wins consistently. Cece Tefler can go from 390th rank as a man to 2019 NCAA DIV. II "Women's" Champion in the 400m hurdles. Highschool track, Verónica Garcia, other highschoolers like "Terry Miller, Andraya Yearwood, transgender sprinters, finish 1st, 2nd at Connecticut championships" Five biological males who identify as female won girls’ state scholastic titles at outdoor-season spring meets in Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Oregon and Washington. So, maybe we just have diff. definitions of "dominating"! What I mean is that transgender women more often than not rise to the top of their sport typically by an unfair margin and displace real women taking their opportunities and recognition.
Ya it’s the most stupid thing ever. Like the men’s verse women’s world records don’t clearly show the difference. And biology works forwards, never backwards. You can give them all the hormones but they’ll never be anything other than the gender they were born as. And it’s sad so many support these delusions and even the Olympics allow trans as long as they started hormone therapy by 13, which no kid should be doing. That whole movement is gross.
Oh my gosh I cannot rn 😭 The Algerian girl boxing is not trans 😭 like would you really think the country, Algeria, known for its conservative ways really have a trans woman? No of course not and also the girl is from a small town from the middle of no where so I don’t think she ever heard that term before??? Like make it make sense ☠️
Besides the controversies, this is a different topic but a country like France is not 3rd world country but I heard from relatives that lives in France or visit said that they do not have public bathrooms at parks or on the country roads. That is horrible! France, you have to upgrade your country.
Why were there so many that you can make a list ? I thought the Olympics were the one time that countries could come together (without) controversy !!! It's like they wanted you to focus more on that then the competition
You did not mention the two biggest controversies; the Opening Ceremony and the female bi big controversy. Was this deliberate? If so, shame on you!!!!!
It's not just people leaning "right wing" who found the mockery of "The Last Supper" offensive, it's everyone who recognised that mocking any faith is not OK!
lol how is banning men from womens sport controversial? what`s really controversal is letting men box against women. also: no mention about equestrian sports at all?
@@nrsrymj a female boxer called Joana Nwamerue has met him on a competitionand they were in a sparring session and he told her that he's gonna smash cause he's a man and that he will feel his manly strength and that he's a man but for the others he's a woman . She gave an interview in one of our big media groups . In 2022 he was disqualified for ''not passing the gender test''
How could the Olympic committee allows Simone Biles to make the comment “ at least it’s an all black podium when the women’s gymnastics medals were awarded and not take away or medal for that racist comment
for me, the most controversy at Paris Olympics is on boxing, where our boxer CARLO PAALAM becomes a victim of cheating. He won on 1st and 3rd round but because he is asian and the judges are Europeans or white people, they announced that Australian boxer as winner via split decision, even they know our co - Filipino is a winner! OLYMPIC JUDGES FOR BOXING SHOULD MAKE PRESS CONFERENCE AND MAKE REMATCH AGAINST THAT AUSTRALIAN!!!!
Banning Russian Federation is the biggest controversy. Removing the strongest competitor in virtually any sport is a poor strategic move. Watching it became kinda boring.
So many common sense solutions for most of these controversies and no one is taking heed at all, especially those who have the power to change things. Polluted water in the Seine? Move the marathon swimming elsewhere. I'd choose safety over spectator accessibility any day. And there was no need to apologize for anyone over the depiction of an Ancient Greek bacchanal! People look for anything to be offended by. Biggest solution of them all? Get money and politics OUT of the Olympics and their organization process.
Beautiful and spectacular games! A huge worldwide hit if you ask the athletes, spectators, viewers, tourists, reporters and experts. A disaster if you listen to haters who haven't even watched the games.
Last sopper or The Feast of Gods? I think some religious people jumped to fast to conclusions. That scene was not in my taste but can understand why that mean modernity and open mind.
One of the worst Olympic organization event. From the ridiculous opening to the quality and availability of the food they served, to the athletes (not to mention the long lines the athletes has to make to get it), the bed where they sleep, No a/c in the rooms and the hostility of some people on the streets.
*This Olympics might literally be the worst. Mainly outside of the competition. But the whole Canada drone scandal is a mess but the players have overcome more with some of the staff and coach.*
At least the team wasn't disqualified from competing, and rallied to go 3-0 despite finishing second in points due to forfeiting 2 match wins' worth of points from the drone scandal. Edit:Though getting eliminated in the first round of the knockout stage seems worthy of a payment for years of cheating (supposedly).
@@Monada79 it's clearly is. Are you blind. Everyone with eyes can see what's going on. Don't care the official narrative, they are lying and thank God most people see it
Girl what it wasn’t based off of the last supper ☠️ if you did a little bit of research then you would know that. And also do you really think they would mock the last supper in the OLYMPICS which is from Greek origin? Like oh my gosh.
"The Last Supper" is not in the bible. Actually tons of things christians think are in the bible are not in the bible. But thats a big one. It was made by Renaissance painters thousands of years later. And by the way, Leonardo Da Vinci was almost certainly homosexual or bisexual.
Matthew 26:17-29; Mark 14:12-25; Luke 22:7-38 and I Corinthians 11:23-25. Quick Google search dude. I'm not even a Christian and the opening ceromony still offended me. By the way, even if Da Vinci was homosexual, he painted The Last Supper fresco because the Duke of Milan (Ludovico Sforza) commissioned him to for a Dominican convent. Sounds like a religious 'Christian' act to me. His sexuality doesn't take away from what the fresco is, why it was painted or what it represents. Is 'On the Origin of Species' irrelevant because Darwin was Christian?
That famous bit of the Bible with the feet washing, one of you will deny me. and the take, eat, this is my body and my blood. That is the Last Supper which, an iconic Christian scene which Leonardo (regardless of his irrelevant sexual orientation) painted..
being transgender is illegal in algeria, how would she be able to transition. she was born with a condition, someone who knows her irl has said this in her comment section.
Drone Incident: Yeah, that was pretty embarrassing... Number 8: Eh, I actually didn't notice that during the Opening Cerimony, I kind of think there's too many subjects in there for that to be considered reminiscent of The Last Supper, reminiscent of Greek Gods having a party would make more sense (Having someone lounge on a giant platter seemed a little odd to me though) Air conditioning: Oh come on! Get those poor folks some *proper* A/C! Heat *sucks*, it's not that hard to figure out, and don't *charge* them for it! As for Hijab, wouldn't Sport Hijabs be a thing or something? (That might be a stupid question, but I might as well ask)
Banning Russian Athletes is a big downfall for the 2024 Olympics, we can see other countries with conflict are being allowed to take part in the Olympics but Russia cannot what a shame
