I haven’t been on a MTB since my big crash in the 90’s, I live in Wv near Snowshoe. I’ve been watching all the enduros last week while I’ve been under the weather. I’ve scouted the woods behind my house and am ready to build a few features this year and be ready to get a new bike next year. I’m really setting an outlook of riding in an enduro at some point in a few years. They look fun and mentally challenging.

I believe most of the riders really are too hyped before the start seeing it as a normal race. Obviously this is still a race so you can't be slacking either, but there is always one big pile at the front that just comes smashing into one another, and you can 100% end your race right then and there because of your bike getting damaged, or you end up with an injury. You should have a good strategy and stick to it, because I feel so many are just going full YOLO at the beginning of these races.
