That sort of thing was very common with sandman maybe not od and resuscitated but he was in a bad shape during a lot of his performances

I never understand why people harp on the "he wrestled the same night" part of that story. It's really not that surprising. I feel like people must have a drastic misunderstanding of what's involved in reversing an OD. I work at a homeless shelter so we get training on this stuff since about 90% of our residents are drug addicts. We occasionally have to administer Naloxone to people who have OD'd. It takes literally a couple of seconds to bring someone back from essentially death to fully sober, alert, and normal. It's not like you have to spend days in hospital getting treatment. As long as you catch it quick enough so that there isn't brain damage from lack of oxygen then you're back to normal and completely sober in seconds like nothing ever happened. There's absolutely no reason why he wouldn't go on to wrestle that night. In fact, it was probably the OD which allowed him to wrestle that night. If he taken enough to get fucked up but not OD then he wouldn't have been taken to the hospital, wouldn't have been treated, and wouldn't have been sobered up. He would have just been left to sleep it off in his hotel room.

Henry Burris We live in a time now that you’re creativeness can get you over sometimes more than you’re size. I can’t imagine someone like Orange Cassidy in the 80s or 90s but now. Here’s hoping for things to progress even more in the future.

Fix it? It would tank in a couple years and all of the awesome talent he'd help bring up would be spilled out onto the indys. Corny is good for rearing talent, but the man has no modern sensibilities for televised wrestling and would run WWE into the ground as a result. It'd be all plodding matches with 6 foot 5 and up behemoths putting each other in rest-holds for three hours every Monday. I love the guy, but he's stuck in his ways and his ways aren't going to sell PPV buys.

@@fuzzydunlop7928 agreed. I love cornette but he is forever cemented in his beliefs of what it takes to succeed or what is good wrestling. Sometimes even contradicting himself by saying "wrestling is huge men showing they're monsters and the strongest in the world not the fast pace flippy s**t" hates all the bigs other than kane and taker from his time but works,I think anyway still for MLW. I do love Corny and listening to his stories though.

During the mid to late 1980s and into the early 1990s Jim Cornett's was always portrayed just as a pink trousers, pink shirt and tennis racket carrying manager of various wrestlers in the WWE. I just never knew he was much more than that for the business.
