Great video. We are taking my mum for her 90th on Splendour in September- 3 of us in a side aft cabin - big balcony. The shoe holder is going to be a great way for the 3 of us in our cabin.
We love these videos. We have been watching a lot of these vlogs and they all have a lot of different ideas and have been purchasing the items that we feel would be great for our first cruise. When I saw your shopping on Encounter you purchased the expandable bag, straight away we said we were going to purchase one of them as it would be handy for a lot of things. Excellent Vlog and thankyou for all of your Vlogs they are wonderful.
Hi Rob and Ali, I have watched all your cruise videos and found them all really great. This video is excellent and has great content. Very useful for someone like me, who is relatively new to cruising. Would love to see more content like this. Thank you both for sharing your cruise reviews. It really helps. Much appreciated 😊
Hi Stephanie. Thanks for your support and comments. We are already working out what to put in the follow up as we have another 10 things to 'showcase'. Hopefully we will get to do that one at the weekend. If there is anything in particular that you think we should include please let us know. Always happy to try to include other peoples ideas.
Hi Rob and Ali, always a pleasure to view your videos, especially in regard to The Queen Elizabeth ones. I am interested in the attire to wear in the evenings and general wardrobe gala nights, meals, and the nightlife. Also, how passengers enjoy their cruise and why. We are booked for the New Zealand cruise on the 3rd of December, and very much looking forward to it. Keep up the videos. They are great and very informative.
Hi Rob and Ali Thanks for the video and information. I will consider some of the item you suggested but others I may only consider if I cruise more often. I did find it very interesting. I also enjoyed your video about the cruise line I am going on. I do not enjoy not knowing what I am up for and therefore watched each video. My husband is not interested to watch them, that is because he knows I will. We are only 20 days away from our cruise so too late to purchase from ebay any how maybe next time. But I will purchase some of the wire hangers that you mentioned. I was going to take some plastic ones I have, but after watching your show I will go with the steel ones. I am sure everyone will find something of interest. Thanks Charmaine
Definitely love these videos. So practical. I loved your heads up in another video about the motion sensor light on the P&O ship ... now have a battery operated magnetic light from Bunnings for $5 to take on our cruise in 8 weeks
Thank you that was very helpful, I use a number of them, my daughter and husband will be on there 1st cruise soon, I'll show them this very informative thanks
Kia Ora guys we are the Wall family we've been stalking you guys for quite awhile so we thought we better subscribe we love your videos and find them funny and very informative we will be cruising with P&O in January 23 on the 14th and we are very excited we've cruised before back in 2014 a month or so before we started ivf.......we now have a 7 year old ,looks like the father sounds like the mother my name Dean I'm 55,wife's name is Phyllis 46 and then there's young Lawrence anyway we've booked 2 more cruises after this one in January, a Disney one and another P&O we are looking at other cruises as well anyway Rob love that Pacific dawn lanyard you wear around your neck and my wife loves handbags......hmmm so does Ali ,keep up the great work guys cheers the Wall family
Kia Ora Dean, Phyllis and Lawrence. Thanks for supporting us and great to hear of your family success. It sounds like you're getting back to cruising big time. We did look at the Disney cruise and would have loved to have gone on one but the fact that the are quite expensive and only 2 nights put us off. We are keeping an eye out for a deal but not holding our breath. Which is the other P&O cruise you are going on? We are back on the Encounter for the PNG trip in June. As for the lanyard, when you have a drawer full of P&O ones why buy more. P&O had some great deals on the handbags on the last day. The prices were already pretty good with the tax free discounts but I think there was a further 10% off on the last day. Have some fantastic cruises guys and if there is anything you want to see in the videos be sure to let us know. We're always looking for ideas.
Yes very interesting and I don't even cruise. I just find the whole idea of cruising fascinating so any videos like this and the others you have posted are great.
Hi AR. Your first sentence brought a smile to our faces. It never occurred to us that people might just watch for entertainment rather than to see what they had signed up for. Thanks for making us think again, we will consider that when making the videos. Take care.
Hi Rob and Ali, I definitely would like to see more videos on preparing for a cruise. e.g. I read a comment on a Cruise facebook recently about collating a Covid 19 medical kit. I have made up a Covid 19 kit and also a first aid kit for my cruise in January. All these small ideas do come in handy to make your cruise 🚢 smoother. 😊
Hi Judith. What an excellent idea, thank you. We all go on cruises expecting to enjoy the freedom but there is always a possibility that we may end up in quarantine. Would love to do that video. If we may ask, what have you included in your 'COVID kit' please? Happy to mention that it's your idea on the video too.
Thanks Debbie. There have been only positive comments so far but we have also had some suggestions for other things that we hadn't actually put on our list for part 2 so will definitely be making another one of these and some more besides. If there is anything you would like us to include please let us know.
Hi Sue here from New Zealand I Love your videos can you find out about whats on offer for Celiac people in the way of Gluten Free foods on Cruises thanks that would be a great help
Some good tips there, and I think this content is certainly helpful. We have started taking power banks with us as many cruise lines are moving toward in-app tools for cruisers, which means using your phone constantly while on board.
Hi Peter. Good thinking. We do take powerbanks as they are useful for the cameras but we should include them in the next video. Thanks for the reminder.
I also watch and enjoy all your videos. It’s interesting to see the different ships and it most definitely helps when making choices for our trips. Loved the 10 things to take - really useful. Personally, I would appreciate info on things such as: Ship etiquettes - what not to do while on board and what to be mindful of. And what you should be doing ( eg to tip or not to tip- who to tip/ when to tip/ how much to tip.) Shore tours - I have loved watching your experiences on the different tours you have done. Definitely keep doing these please as the content is so valuable. Activities/ services onboard - particularly on sea days. Things not to miss in your opinion. I enjoyed your over view and trying out the Encounter pandora shop and day spa services Onboard offers - future cruises, duty free etc. I’ve also just heard about players club for the casino and have no idea what it’s about. Would be interested in your opinions on prices/ savings/quality/ when to buy etc I will be watching whatever you’re posting as it’s just so interesting and a great help. Thank you both!
Hi Kelly. Thanks for supporting us and thank you so much for your ideas. This is the sort of information that we need so that we can make videos that include things that people want to see. We are probably going to do a 10 more things at the weekend. We do have some videos from the Luminosa with the shopping and duty free prices so we'll see if we can make something from that. We also have video from our Port days at Airlie Beach, Cairns and Port Douglas from the Luminosa cruise that we will be doing. Advance info for you alone, we did kayaking at Airlie Beach, SkyRail and Scenic Railway at Cairns and Crocodile cruise at Port Douglas. We are on the Quantum of the Seas in 15 days time so will definitely try to concentrate on some of these other things for you. Thanks again and best wishes from us.
Yes please, I have watched most if not all and I find them highly entertaining. But, its good to see some Australian cruise content. Even better if you could add links on where to get stuff. Ive watched a lot of Yank gear videos and they always use their Amazon or other links but a lot of them wont ship to Oz.
Hi Michael. That's a good point and we will do that. We did look at all this affiliate malarkey but not sure that we can be bothered, plus it's not about trying to find ways to make money, it's about having some fun, which is what we are doing. Thanks for coming along for the ride.
Power cords can be tricky, we went on p and o in July, no problems with our travel adapter but in November on RCI they confiscated so let people know to double check.
Hi Julie. Thanks for dropping by. We also have never had an issue on P&O, Princess or Carnival with an overload board (not surge protected). We have not been on RCI yet but we are on 28th Dec so we'll see how we go on.
Hi Sarah. Fantastic idea. Since we started cruising without the girls we tend to focus on what fits the 2 of us but for a family that's great. Would we be able to include that in one of our videos and say it was a suggestion from you?
Hi Rob, great information. Have done a few cruises in the past but nothing recent so good to get a refresher, particularly from someone who's in Australia also. We've booked on Royal Caribbean at the end of January which is how I found your channel. I saw an American RU-vidr who used the shoe storage idea also but put all little things in it she wanted to easily grab, in addition to shoes down the bottom, ie sunscreen, sunglasses/glasses, jewellery, etc. I think it's a fantastic idea. I also wish we had one of your handy laundry hampers as everything just ends up draped over something in a corner with us usually. Also I'm going to order some of those magnetic hooks to try.
Hi Tania. Thanks for the support and comment. Not sure which Royal Caribbean ship you are on in January but we are on the Quantum of the Seas on 28th December for New Years. We will be doing a whole series from that cruise so you may find some of those interesting - hopefully. We actually came across the expanding bag by accident on the P&O Encounter. We didn't realise it was expanding at the time but when we did we just had to buy it as it was ideal for laundry. I think we only paid around $30 for it and the same ones were around $70 on Carnival recently. Anyway, we hope you have a fantastic cruise in January and enjoy the Royal Caribbean experience.
@@taniasarah5616 We already have a couple of requests for things that people want to see. Is there anything that you would especially like us to include in a video for you to see before you go?
@@robandalicruisetravel Oh that’s very kind of you. I would be interested to see how crowded the main dining room area is (we’ve booked a couple special restaurants but want to do some dinners in the main dining area) and also if you could find some quieter areas of the ship to hang out in. It can get so busy sometimes and we didn’t book a balcony this time. Hope you have a fantastic time!!
@@taniasarah5616 Hi Tania. No problem, we can do that. We have booked for Wonderland and will be doing a video of that. Heads up, if you have booked that restaurant maybe wait to watch it if you don't want to ruin the surprise.
Very useful video, thank you. Can I ask where you got the heavy duty hooks for the washing from please? I have some smaller hooks but the ones you have look so much stronger . Great tips about the pillowcases by the way. Thanks
Hi Elizabeth. Thanks for dropping by and for the comment. We got the big magnetic hooks from eBay. They are the 40mm versions - www.ebay.com.au/itm/304099410571?var=603227927213 Hope this helps.
