We are Robert & Alison and we live in beautiful South East Queensland, Australia. We are both originally from England but chose to live here for the lifestyle and, of course, the sunshine.
We started this channel as Rob and Ali's Big Days Out during the COVID Pandemic really to share our experiences in the Great Outdoors with our families in the UK as they were unable to come to Australia.
We have always loved cruising and as Australia opened up again we were lucky to be able to rekindle this with the exciting new ships and cruise lines that are returning or coming to Australia. The channel seemed to be an ideal outlet to combine our love of cruising and creating lasting memories that we can share with others, so we changed it to Rob and Ali Cruise & Travel.
We hope you enjoy our insights & adventures and if you do please hit the Like button and consider Subscribing.
Finally, we love to read any comments and will try to reply to all of them.
hi rob and Ali yes would have to agree with the 2 comments above. I wouldn’t like to sit and eat in a walk way. The ship seems really big and although it holds 5000 people it doesn’t look congested which I like. It seems anywhere you are you are not crowded by lots of people.
Thanks for the very helpful video. I got excited about the no limit to the alcoholic drinks until I followed your link to the FAQ page which states one bottle of alcohol, which I guess is more flexible to just wine. It looks like it may have changed since you uploaded your video.
I understand, my husband collect all the ship models from the cruises we go on. He was so excited to get the "limited edition" for the inaugural season of the Carnival Jubilee, he actually got number 12 of only 360 made!

Encounter was my favourite ship when she was the Golden Princess..As encounter, the decor has become too black and white for me. But the layout is still great, there have been positive changes. I can't wait to go up to Skywalker's (or whatever it is now), in January, take a drink and my book, and enjoy the view of the wake.
Thankyou for the wonderful vlog, you have assisted us as first timers so will be following your list to the tee. First time going on a cruise in October.
I find the videos you both do are marvo and full of such wonderful advice. I have been enjoying yr cruising adventures. My hubby and I are new to cruising with our first trip on the Explorer 2023, really looking forward to Tonga and Fiji in August this year.... wouldn't it be fab to live on a cruise ship? Looking forward to viewing the rest of your cruise from Japan 🎉
nice to meet you. We boarded the same boat on the same trip. The person wearing glasses and a tropical shirt at 31:40 is me. No, would you recognize MSC CRUISE's PSY? After the trip, I was looking for various videos, and I was glad to see a video of the cruise we took together.
We were on deck 9 and loved it as we weren't overlooking anyone like the above decks and we had direct view straight down to the of the water below where we saw lots of little flying fish and a sting ray and some other strange orange looking creatures as the ship was travelling along. Even though we had balconies above us it didn't bother us as we were always facing the water so didn't even think about it much. Having the footstools was also a great bonus. They are only small on deck 9 only big enough for 2 people at a time really.
Your Videos are so well informed , as ni-van(local) ☺️,im so Pleased and happy to see you , share about Vanuatu in a Good Light .💐💐💐 Also you both are a Gone team🫶 Thankio Bigwan 💐🫶
Great to see such a detailed review of this ship as we will be going on her in Feb.2025. Thank you particularly mentioning the different lifts and difficulties if you are struggling with mobility.well done.
We are going from Sydney to Moreton Island on pacific adventure on 1 July. Looking at the video I feel like it’s going to be too cold to go in the pools or even staying for a long time around them because it’s cold😭😭
My goodness...this video is the best and funniest you guys have done!😂I'm like a nig kid with your videos, I wait in anticipation for the next one. I could see that maternal in you Ali when nursing the piglets, so sweet. This is nothing to do with the cruise but I have to comment on your hair Ali..always so shiny and just gorgeous. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
This is something I’ve never understood- why do people complain when they can’t charge their devices next to their heads? I prefer to charge devices on the desk space, away from my ears so I do not get disturbed during the night. Or better still, cut myself off from the world- can’t do much about issues back home when you’re in middle of ocean! Mentally better to find out once you’re back home. Just my POV.
