10 CUTE & WHOLESOME Pokedex Entries 

From Alakazam, one of my personal favorites: "If it trusts someone deeply, it will let them have one of its spoons. Anything you eat with that spoon is apparently delicious." that is really wholesome

Igglybuff: “It likes to sing but is not yet good at it. With praise and encouragement, it will get better little by little.” Drampa: "It appears in towns and plays with the children. Drampa will protect kids when they're in danger, so their moms don't have to worry."

Swablu has a great one for this. "For some reason, it likes to land on people's heads softly and act like it's a hat." I want one, right now??

Goodra, Sun: "An amazingly friendly Pokémon, but if left to itself, loneliness overcomes it, and it oozes gooey tears." Goodra, X: "This very friendly Dragon-type Pokémon will hug its beloved Trainer, leaving that Trainer covered in sticky slime."

Stoutland, White Version: “This extremely wise Pokémon excels at rescuing people stranded at sea or in the mountains.” Conkeldurr, Black Version: “It is thought that Conkeldurr taught humans how to make concrete more than 2,000 years ago.”

Scrafty, Ultra Sun: “This Pokémon may be rude, but it takes very good care of its friends, its family, and its turf.”

Klefki: "These key collectors threaten any attackers by fiercely jingling their keys at them."

One of my favorites is Skitty's: "Skitty has the habit of becoming fascinated by moving objects and chasing them around. This Pokémon is known to chase after its own tail and become dizzy."

Boomers in the Pokémon world be like: "Milennials are bringing out disasters by befriending ABSOL!!"

Blissey's is one that always makes me feel better," Blissey senses sadness with its fluffy coat of fur. If it does so, this Pokémon will rush over to a sad person, no matter how far away, to share a Lucky Egg that brings a smile to any face". I'll never not smile to this.

From Goodra's Ultra Sun entry: "It's very friendly toward people. If you grow close to it, Goodra will hug you with its sticky, slime-covered body. Don't get mad." I, for one, would happily accept a hug from the world's cutest pseudo-legendary.

Not exactly cute, but funny: Paras, Ultra Moon: “The mushrooms, known as tochukaso, are controlling the bug. Even if the bug bugs the mushrooms, they tell it to bug off.”

So from this I have learned: Hypno cures insomnia Absol warns of disasters, but freaking boomers ruined it's reputation Aggron is an environmentalist Togekiss blesses pacifism Lapras was almost extinct, and now the fish are Alolan Ratata is basically Remy Mega Pinsir just wanted to fly Salamence inspired poetic flight Torchic is a warm boi Cubone overcomes the ultimate loss to evolve.

Here are ten of my favourites (of those not featured in this video) in no particular order: Volcarona (Ultra Moon): "According to legends, it was hatched from a flaming cocoon to save people and Pokémon that were suffering from the cold." So this beast will not rest until nobody is suffering. Alakazam (Ultra Moon): "If it trusts someone deeply, it will let them have one of its spoons. Anything you eat with that spoon is apparently delicious." Especially knowing how important those spoons are to an Alakazam, this is pretty sweet. Pangoro (X, Omega Ruby): "Although it possesses a violent temperament, it won’t put up with bullying. It uses the leaf in its mouth to sense the movements of its enemies." It's good to know that not all Dark-types are always chaotic evil and some even have a halfway respectable moral compass. It seems like small potatoes but Pangoro's strength means it must be pretty effective at its anti-bullying lifestyle. Altaria (Platinum, Black, White): "If it bonds with a person, it will gently envelop the friend with its soft wings, then hum." This one's pretty self-explanatory, but no less sweet than if it were less evident. Mega Pidgeot (Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee): "With its muscular strength now greatly increased, it can fly continuously for two weeks without resting." Reading of such ability is simply awe-inspiring, and it's coupled with the fact of an older Pokémon getting more love and having a niche to help it stand out in the crowd of Normal/Flying types; a pin-point accurate Hurricane. Espeon (Ruby, Sapphire, [Emerald], OR/AS): "[An] Espeon is extremely loyal to any trainer it considers to be worthy. It is said that this Pokémon developed its precognitive powers to protect its trainer from harm." Eeveelutions usually just get descriptions of what this particular mutation has in store for Eevee, like dissolving in water (Vaporeon) or freezing its fur for needles (Glaceon). Besides Sylveon, Espeon is one of the only ones to get a description that is more positive and less straight scientific. Its powers arising from wanting to protect its trainer is a nice change of pace from "it just has them". Ampharos (Pretty much all of them, but this wording being from Gold, LeafGreen, HeartGold, X and Y): "The tail's tip shines brightly and can be seen from far away. It acts as a beacon for lost people." Amidst all the fast Electric-types and Pokémon who are measured how well they can de-rail a train, how many adults they can lift and hurl, or how much they can ruin your life, it's nice to see a Pokémon seen in nothing but a positive light and having a relatively unique trait. It indirectly showcases the calm and gentle nature of this lovable 'mon. Is it any wonder it became my favourite Electric-type? Jumpluff (Crystal, Y): "Even in the fiercest wind, it can control its fluff to make its way to any place in the world it wants." Think this little Pokémon can be blown away by a gentle sneeze? Think again! Its ability to give strong gusts the finger (arm stub?) makes it a truly awe-inspiring 'mon. Plus, it's pretty cute to boot, and doesn't have a dark secret unlike fellow doofy-faced Pokémon Vileplume. Sceptile (Sapphire, Alpha Sapphire): "Sceptile has seeds growing on its back. They are said to be bursting with nutrients that revitalize trees. This Pokémon raises the trees in a forest with loving care." This guy is Aggron's gardening buddy, for sure. It's also the very first Pokémon I had (having grown up with gen 3) so it gets extra points from me. Leavanny (Black, B2W2, X, Omega Ruby): "Upon finding a small Pokémon, it weaves clothing for it from leaves, using the cutters on its arms and sticky silk." It's mentioned doing this for its own young, as would be expected, but the fact it also cares for the young of other Pokémon is pretty adorable.

1 pokemon i can say is wholesome and brave is Floatzel: "It floats using its well-developed flotation sac. It assists in the rescues of drowning people." "With its flotation sac inflated, it can carry people on its back. It deflates the sac before it dives." the fact that Floatzel is willing to risk it's life to save someone from drowning is amazing

From now on, I will call Togekiss: “A plump battleship of happiness.”

Whenever I read alolan rattatas dex entry I just think of it riding in the baby seat of a shopping cart and pointing a fresh food for it's trainer.

We now need a farming spin-off with an Aggron as the main character.

I love Swablu's PokeDex entries. The thought of it sitting on people's heads, pretending to be a hat, makes me smile.

Ralts: If its horns capture the warm feelings of people or pokémon, its body warms up slightly. Kirlia: If its Trainer becomes happy, it overflows with energy, dancing joyously while spinning about.

Aggron, an intimidating giant with high defense, is a gardener? I'll nickname all my Aggrons "Dedue" from now on.

I'll always love this one Rowlet ultra moon: "It feels relaxed in tight, dark places and has been known to use its trainers pocket or bag as a nest" I thought I'd add this one

Drifloon, in Pearl: "It tugs on the hands of children to steal them away. However, it gets pulled around instead. "

I find Torterra's PokeDex entry wholesome. How small Pokemon live on its back for there whole lives.

I love that fact that in Let's go...your rival takes in a cubone and raises it after seeing what has happened to them..its just..very sweet of him.

Swablu, Omega Ruby: Swablu has light and fluffy wings that are like cottony clouds. This Pokémon is not frightened of people. It lands on the heads of people and sits there like a cotton-fluff hat.

Wholesome content: *exists* My heart: Oh yeah, it's all coming together.

Mega Pincir's entry is extra heartwarming when you realize it's two big rivals from past generations, Scyther & Heracross, are both capable of flight.

I still feel like the mega entries for Alola are as tragic as they are, because mega evolution is a foreign concept to Alola, so no one really knows how to control the immense power it produces. In the lore of many depictions, X and Y, the anime, and even super mystery dungeon, mega evolution is powerful, and anyone can attempt it, but only those strong enough of mind, and have a strong bond with their Pokémon can perfect it. If a trainer is too weak, the Pokémon loses control and goes berserk. In the case of super mystery dungeon, there are no humans to share the burden and maintain control, so the Pokémon always goes berserk after a while. In my opinion, the Alolan entries only show what happens when a mega evolution fails, as no one has been trained to use it. I know some people will bring up that the player can catch a Pokémon and mega evolve it right away, but I think it is more than just a player convenience for gameplay purposes. The player is always depicted as a prodigy trainer, able to bond with any Pokémon they meet, so that's why I think it works into the lore.

Brionne, Moon, It cares deeply for its companions. When its Trainer is feeling down, it performs a cheery dance to try and help.

I feel bad for Absol, doesn’t deserve to be treated that way

Absol is one of my favorites because of its dex entry. Literally, it’s the meaning of the phrase “in the right place at the wrong time.”

Mega Gyarados, LGPE: "Although it obeys its instinctive drive to destroy everything within its reach, it will respond to orders from a Trainer it truly trusts." I like this one because it's almost a reconstruction of Mega Evolution itself. Sure, it's a painful berserk transformation, but if your bond with your Pokémon is strong enough then it'll happily lend this new power to you.

If you make one on sad entries, you have to include Darkrai by default. He isolates himself from the outside world due to a power he has no control over.

Araquanid either protec others with its bubble, or it attac and drowns them. Also his dex entry in Ultra Moon: "It has a habit of storing things it values in its water bubble. If its Trainer doesn't watch out, Araquanid will try to put them in its bubble!" what did we do to deserve Moon/Ultra Moon Araquanid

The Pokédex might reveal some the scariest thing about Pokémon but it also reveal reveal some amazing things and make them absolute sweethearts

I remember being impressed by the turn around on Absol. It never occurred to me until then that being a harbinger of doom didn't necessarily mean being a _cause_ of doom. It's a nice bit of world-building, too, getting to see how views of Pokémon can change over time.

i would die for incineroar. shield: incineroar’s rough and aggressive behavior is its most notable trait, but the way it helps out small pokemon shows that it has a kind side as well. also, back when he was first revealed, the pokemon website mentioned he was good with kids :”)

I'm _so_ glad Mega Pinsir's and Salamence's entries got on this list. They're probably my favorite Dex entries for how heartwarming they are.

Honestly, I love the juxtaposition of Aggron and Salamance, being terrifying looking beasts, but sweet on the inside.

Espeon’s Deluxe Essential Handbook Pokédex entry states, “When Espeon finds it’s Trainer worthy, it’s loyalty knows no bounds. It apparently learned to predict danger so it could keep it’s Trainer safe.” That’s why it’s my favorite Pokémon. :3

You know, when I first read that Aggron entry a couple of years ago, I wanted to see a scene in the anime where an Aggron was happily planting trees and what not. Only for it to be accidentally destroyed by Team Rocket, undoing its hard work.

I like how Haxorus' entries often state that it's actually a friendly Pokémon despite its fierce appearance.

Thank you for spreading the good word of Absol! Absol is my favorite Pokemon and it's very misunderstood! They even did an episode of the anime during the Hoenn series about how this village hates this local Absol but Ash and friends help them realize that Absol is just trying to help them by warning them :')

The Bagon line of Pokedex entries have always been a favorite of mine. Literally a baby in a helmet that repeatedly hurls itself off a cliff day in and day out to try and fly. Then, it becomes practically immobile due to being covered in an ultra-hard shell in order to protect itself from... itself... yet it still INSISTS on hurling itself off a cliff repeatedly despite being about as mobile as a metapod. And then eventually, after several years of struggling to hurl itself off a cliff repeatedly, it's body just says "ok, you know what? I give up. You want wings so badly? Here, take them. I hope you're happy!" And, from that point forward, what was once a little Bagon became a very, very happy boy.

There are early mentions of how absol is actually good. Back in mystery dungeon red and blue rescue team, it is DIRECTLY mentioned that it actually WARNS of disaster, and does so in the game.
