How we, along with Corridor Digital, made a 30 second TV spot in 10 days for EA's Battlefield 3. We took a bit of inspiration from South Park's most excellent documentary about their ridiculous process.
This is quite possibly my favourite video on the internet. Freddie and Brandon are the ones who got me into filmmaking, followed closely by Sam and Niko. I lived for these behind the scenes videos - they always had such an enthusiasm for filmmaking and really showed the fun side of it, something that is so rarely seen in professional production BTS.
I am so glad you guys produce behind-the-scenes videos like this, especially when the videos get really indepth about what went down during production. Really quite enlightening!
1:36 I'm pretty sure that's what Freddie does all the time. And this is why he makes fantastic videos. He's not afraid to be a kid. Of course, it was thanks to Brandon that anything got done. XD
You know, I have to say, the pacing of the commercial, along with the type of shots you guys used. You out-compete all the other companies out there, probably. Where other companies need like 10 people to do it, you guys got the whole package. Just like you guys said about the other commercials not showing the fun side of gaming, you're spot on. Awesome stuff.
That was probably the most interesting video I've seen this week -- it offers so much insight into how to plan a film project on short notice, at a very high level of professionalism. Great work!
WOW! Not only do I love seeing the finished product that's beyond amazing, but I love watching your behind the scenes. You guys have so much fun and and you're hilarious! Keep up the great work! If I see the commercial, I'll let everyone know it was you guys! :)
@mpejcinoski Why wouldn't he? You kinda need a good pc for editing, good pc = gaming pc, and PC is generally better than the other platforms due to modding, graphics options etc.
@freddiew2 hey, nice vid! However, i've noticed, that the area shown in the shooting scene of "Green Day - Wake me up when Septenber ends" clip looks extremly similar to the area you use to do your videos. Is that right?
that must be so awesome, 3 of ur friends, going and making a commercial like that something so funny and ALL of you are in it thats just so cool i envy them so much
Anyone know how to do that screen flicker effect used at the very beginning of this commercial please? :S I am completely clueless about it... On another note, is there a secret way of keyframing the color correction? I cant find that out either... Any help or suggestions would be very much APPRECIATED!!! :D
This is perfect timing for me to have finally watched this video. Pretty much had enough of MW3 last night, and this just confirms it's time to get back to BF3.
@Freddiew2 , can you guys tell me the specs of your computer? :] PM me?! I'm really interested to know what you guys use to render all this craziness...
Freddie,Brandon and Sam and Niko have been friends for ever. It is not that they have contacted each other when they've become famous on youtube. Before freddie was famous, he was a guitar hero champion. and he was flooding around the world playing guitar hero. And in one of that sort of videos where interviewin freddie, you can see sam and niko there. so i guess they've known each other quite a loooong time
@Theevilmidget99 Judging by the special effects, fancy cameras, awesome cinematographer, kick-butt vehicles, and the EPIC explosion at the end, I'd say somewhere around $12-13,000.
OMG THIS VIDEO. 1. Freddie practicing swordplay 2. Fridge of Monster 3. Jimmy sitting playing DS on the couch 4. Overly tight chin strap on Freddie 5. Gigga Please 6. BITKRUSHER 7. Niko waking up and looking around when everyone starts laughing. MAKES THIS THE FUNNIEST FREDDIEW VID TO DATE
