Glad to see world devistators, the Star Forge, and Sun Crusher on this list. It's missing the Katana Fleet, Eye of Palpatine, Darksaber, and Centerpoint.
Darksaber was a joke. Maybe if it was competently constructed and operated it would warrant a top 10 spot, but as it’s portrayed in the novel, it’s not worthy.
I’ve never thought of the Inhibitor Chips as Superweapons but they’re probably the most affective one on the list. Destroying a Planet or Star systems is pretty bad but removing thousands of the the Galaxy’s Greatest Defenders All at Once takes the cake IMO
Honestly, all the superweapons started feeling like a crutch after a while. Like the writers couldn't think of a way to make the Empire a threat without it.
Starkiller Base is probably the dumbest thing in all of Star Wars. It makes absolutely no sense from a scientific point of view. How does it aim and shoot at a planet hundreds of light years away? How does the laser get there so fast? How could a laser be seen in the sky on Takodana, after all, due to the distance that light has to travel, we see the sky as it was many years ago. And how do you recharge this base after the sun runs out? It's a planet, so it can't go to another system to use another sun. So is it disposable?
Star killer base probably has hyperdrive, considering the Death Star does to. And it’s Star Wars after all. From a scientific point of view!? That would basically mean all of Star Wars is impossible? So what’s your point? And the laser may have been shot with some form of hyperdrive sort of tech too.
Dark Empire was released in 1991, not 1982. Starkiller Base is essentially the Galaxy Gun from Legends repurposed. Thinking of the inhibitor chips as a superweapon is an interesting angle. Was expecting to see Centerpoint Station. The Shawken doomsday machine would get an honorable mention as it turns its own planet into a projectile calculated to start a chain reaction of plnetary ricochets like a stellar game of marbles - intent on destroying several worlds at once.
Starkiller Base was the dumbest idea for a weapon ever. How do you aim it? How does the blast reach another planet in 40 seconds when it's tens of thousands of light years away? When I saw it on screen, it completely took me out of the film. It felt like an executive said 'we need something more powerful than a death star! Make it happen!' and this is the best they could come up with. It ruins the film.
Here's one I add from one of my fanfics: the Star Arrow. It fires a gravity pulse into a star causing it to collapse into a black hole regardless of the star's mass, and causing all of its planets to fall in.
Dovin basals were deadly in the New Jedi Order series. Specifically the Yo'gand's Core tactic that uses one to pull a moon from space onto it's planet 💥
We have a video about weapons that can destroy planets, create huge waves of ships, but one character could consume the life of a whole planet with the force Darth Nihilus
IMO, Starkiller Base represents everything wrong with the Abrams Star Wars. Scientifically, it makes no sense how it would work, but more than that, it’s just another freaking Death Star! Then TROS includes an entire fleet of Death Stars. Like, come on, can nobody really come up with something else?
OK I like whatculture but this vid is a bit of a joke. Why would the inhibitor chips be on this list, they're not a superweapon, doesn't matter how u try spin it. And the listing of certain weapons is silly, like why would world devastators be number 10? A couple of them could literally destroy ur opposition and build up ur own forces at the same time. Kinda just feels like this was pulled off wookiepedia without much acc thought or knowledge
