Dude! What an awesome video. Just popped in my recommended and I’m glad I gave it a watch. Love that 1) this is a Sequels focused vid that isn’t belly-aching over the Sequels and 2) that it’s a video focusing on the positive side of the SW fandom. Just the raw passion and excitement. I was a senior in high school when the film finally released, but like you, I was obsessed for years. The media blitz leading up to the December release made that Fall semester pass so slowly for me. And opening night was by far my most favorite memory of seeing a movie ever. Had to see it a few more times afterward, of course. Is TFA perfect? No. In fact, I love TLJ a lot more in retrospect and I think it makes its predecessor look better. But it’s a damn fun movie with energy and a cast of likable characters. And it’s got a bit more going on under the hood than a simple retread, as well.

I was in college during this time and also followed the drip feed of information and hype extremely closely. Unfortunately what was in our heads couldn’t be matched with reality but it was a fun time. This was a great nostalgia trip. I recognized just about every poster.

Saw it at midnight on release day, one of the best experiences! In fact I saw them all at midnight (sequels) Lets just say TROS didnt go down as well as we’d hoped! haha!

Dude this takes me back. Your whole story of drawing your poster in school reminds me of how obsessed with episodes 2 and 3 specifically I was when those came out from 2002-2005. And I was in elementary, you couldn't get me to shut up about Star Wars stuff. It was insane. I literally wrote a story about a young Padawan being at Geonosis (basically a self insert character 😂) when the Jedi went to save Obi Wan, Anakin and Padme in episode 2. Like I was beyond obsessed. I needed help (and still kinda do).

Damn, it's hard to believe it was almost 10 years ago. I was in 6th grade when I saw TFA, I was so hyped at seeing the leaked pics of First Order Storm Trooper helmets and the armor before. I thought the design was badass

What a wholesome video! Thanks for sharing, it brought back great memories from that time. I was already in high school by the time all went down with the Lucasfilm acquisition and was hyped to get new content. For me the prequels were Star Wars, saw them in cinemas when I was just a little kid and 2012-2015 came really close capturing that hype. Hope you'll do for TLJ & TROS similar videos.

Your channel deserves to keep growing :) I just remember checking Star Wars Rumours about half a dozen times a day, getting what little scraps of leaks I could (I think that site is Star Wars News Net now?) - That feeling of excitement was palpable, like when that final trailer dropped in October 2015, that may as well have been a 2 year wait until the actual film came out 😂😂 It's kinda quaint looking back now, I've never once felt that level of excitement for Star Wars since probably the time before the Last Jedi came out, which I came out of the cinema absolutely hating. As for episode 9, I was pretty much done with it by then....Andor is fucking brilliant though, really looking forward to season 2!

Force awakens was the first Star Wars movie I saw. Never finished it tho cuz I was like… 9 maybe, and cuz I probably got bored from it. OG trilogy all the way!!! (And the prequel trilogy if I’m in the mood)

I believe the simplified Force Awakens poster you're talking about is the artwork they used for the original DVD release in 2016

I was so excited I thought finally Star Wars is going to like it was in the original trilogy, and they might even adapt Heir to the Empire! Oh, how wrong I was.

This movie's release was and still is the most hyped I ever was for any movie ever, Endgame comes in the second place
