10 facts about natural disasters: Frequency and Distribution: Natural disasters occur worldwide, but their frequency and severity vary depending on geographical location and local environmental conditions. Types of Natural Disasters: Natural disasters include earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, tsunamis, wildfires, volcanic eruptions, landslides, droughts, and avalanches. Impact on Human Life: Natural disasters can cause significant loss of life and injuries, as well as widespread displacement of populations. They can also lead to long-term economic and social consequences for affected communities. Mitigation and Preparedness: Preparedness and mitigation efforts, such as early warning systems, evacuation plans, building codes, and disaster relief programs, can help reduce the impact of natural disasters and save lives. Climate Change Influence: Climate change is exacerbating the frequency and intensity of some natural disasters, such as hurricanes and wildfires, due to factors like rising temperatures, changing precipitation patterns, and sea-level rise. Technological Advancements: Advances in technology, including remote sensing, computer modeling, and communication systems, have improved our ability to monitor, predict, and respond to natural disasters more effectively. Economic Costs: Natural disasters can have significant economic costs, including damage to infrastructure, disruption of businesses, loss of agricultural productivity, and increased insurance premiums. Social Vulnerability: Certain groups, such as the elderly, children, people with disabilities, and those living in poverty or in marginalized communities, are often more vulnerable to the impacts of natural disasters due to limited resources and access to support services. Environmental Consequences: Natural disasters can have lasting environmental consequences, such as soil erosion, habitat destruction, contamination of water sources, and loss of biodiversity. Global Cooperation: Given the global nature of many natural disasters, international cooperation and collaboration are essential for effective disaster response, recovery, and resilience-building efforts.

7:00 "the tornado which lasted for 20 minutes and hit wind speeds of 40 mph".......?!
@TheReviewQueen82
@TheReviewQueen82 Месяц назад
Yep...tornadoes aren't based off of how big the funnel is and how long they have been on the ground. It's mainly based off what it has destroyed and wind speeds factor into this. Hence this is classified as an EFO tornado (or weak tornado). Also, topography can factor into how much tornadoes can destroy. My guess is that the vortex had a hard time maintaining itself because there will hills. Tornadoes don't well on those. They lose their strength. That's why tornadoes tend to be strong in the Midwest in the US because of the flat landscape.
@3dpete1
@3dpete1 Месяц назад
@@TheReviewQueen82 an EF1 tornado has winds from 86 to 110 miles per hour, most likely the 40 mph is in reference to how fast the tornado as a whole moved across the landscape, not the rotation wind speed.

You can also include the town of Lytton, British Columbia, Canada. The heatwave back in 2021 reached 49.6 degrees Celcius, the highest temperature broken in Canada. The town burnt down and many had to evacuate.
@marktwain368
@marktwain368 Месяц назад
And tragically, the town has NOT rebuilt or recovered. Worse yet, the current summer heat trends in BC predict more fires with more frequency. Love and prayers to all in the BC Interior from midtown Toronto. We have our own issues, but not like this!

For those who didn't know typhoon Mangkhut qas in 2018 and typhoon Lekima was in 2019 and yes they're both got retired for causing massive damage. And also typhoon Mangkhut was a Cat 5 with winds between 160-180mph while Lekima was a high end Cat 4 with winds of 130-155mph.

Love the videos dude and keep the great work up but I find myself skipping the first minute or 2 cause you usually show us a what’s coming up in the video. To be honest a lot of people do this in there videos or tv shows. It’s just a tiny bit frustrating I don’t want to see all the good parts of a tv show/ video in a 1 minute burst at the start it then makes me not want to watch cause I’ve seen all the best bits in the video. I’d rather the video/tv show just starts after an intro that way the video is more of a surprise. I’m aware this is very picky of me to say it’s just I’ve never like these coming up in the show segments even in to shows like why do I want to see all the good parts of the show in a 1 minute burst at the start there’s then really no point watching the show/video Still love the videos dude I hope this is just me I’ve not found anyone else that dislike this part of video

How can you prepare for a tornado??
@ItsJustLisa
@ItsJustLisa Месяц назад
The types of building materials used and having an underground shelter for protection. Brick buildings withstand tornadoes better than wood and if a building is frame and sheet metal, it’s going to go fast. Even the style of roof you have makes a difference in certain storms. My dad is in coastal Texas. He has a fully hipped roof (slanted on all four sides). There’s no full face near the roofline to catch the wind easily and rip it off in a hurricane.
@user-ld4uj2ru4p
@user-ld4uj2ru4p Месяц назад
You can but it depends on strong the tornado is 😮
@user-ld4uj2ru4p
@user-ld4uj2ru4p Месяц назад
Why do they build houses near the water anyway and why do they stand out there putting their lives in danger just to see the storm just plain stupid are they don't won't to leave when they are told to leave they put their lives in danger again the safeguard people put their lives in danger just to go and get trump to stupid 😮😢❤

User, you missed the point. The “40mph” wind is a mistake, not how much damage was done. Also, the minimum wind speed of a of a tornado is 73 mph. If none of these shoddy houses can withstand a gust of 40 mph they wouldn’t have lasted a week. Didn’t you notice that a bunch of people caught the 40mph tornado mistake??

Yes. Imagine being the ones who lose everything. Yet it could happen to anyone anywhere. If you live near the sea, sea level will rise and eventually even your own house will succumb to the sea. If you live on a hill side, check your foundations are on the rock or even your house will succumb to a landslide. Thinking of building your house on a rock, also ensure that your whole life is built on Christ. Attend an Alpha course and ask your questions.
