10 easy settings to get you started with your NUX Tape Echo NDD-7

When I contacted NUX about doing a review of their Horseman, they asked if I was interested in checking out their new Tape Echo NDD-7 delay unit. This one aims at reproducing the vintage tape delay tones of the 1974 Roland RE-201 Space Echo. I've never owned or played an original, so I was intrigued.
I wanted to do a deep dive into the multiple functions of the NDD-7, but thought it might be more appropriate to dial in some fun delay sounds and share them with you. Sometimes when we get a new piece of gear, having a starting point can help us learn this new device. So, these are my top 10 settings. It could have easily been 20 favorite settings, but for the sake of time I kept it simple.

I think you may very well be the only dude on RU-vid to understand how to use the description section for your videos! Great video and a great read on the reasoning behind the video! You always exceed expectations in every video and that bit of improvised 28 Days Later, fantastic! That's a killer movie and I finally found it in a Walmart of all places this past year! Cillian Murphy broke into the US with that movie and an unnerving movie for sure. Rage virus... 🤔 sorta feels like we're seeing it today, you know? Anyhow, I'm going to put this pedal in my cart the next time I get on Amazon. I also need that daily driver pedal too 🏋 This must be you! Two pedals on each side and connected by a short patch cable in the middle! 😁👍🏼

thanks for the kind words. I use to be into Zombie flicks. Watch everything that was Zombie related. 28 days later was a fresh take on the genre. Love that movie.

@@TheToneLounge You said it. That movie blew my mind because it did to things that I didn't see coming; it broke the clichè horrible British movie and the story was perfect! I tried for years to buy that movie, but it never released as a new DVD over here like our US movies do. I gave up hunting that movie as it slowly faded away from the foreground of my thoughts and was floored by finding it in the $5 dollar bin at Wal-Mart. I was speeding though that bin and thought saw it as I was about to flick it away to keep digging... 😱 I was shocked I actually found it in the middle of "COVID," aka the rage virus with all of the parallels and the irony! 😁 You ever watch *DARK* on Netflix? It's Germany's breakthrough movie that went big in the US. It's the best thing I've seen in a long, long time! It's no zombie movie, but I won't say anything about it in the event you haven't seen it. I'm making preparations because this one isn't coming to DVD and I'm going to fix that little issue. Since they've been losing a lot of subscribers, they've been pumping a LOT of money into actual movies, real movies that they're providing on their service.

it's one of the rare movies that I don't have on DVD or Blu Ray for the very same reason. Hard to find.

Some very cool tones in here. I enjoyed that! Probably my favorite was the one you called “Moody.” Jeff Buckley inspired tone was also pretty sweet. I need to check him out! Stereo is fun to play with, I agree. I like to run a Catalinbread EchoRec into my Vox and a vibrato into the second amp. (Stole that from TPS, of course..) Huge tones.

It's great you can actually hear the pedal, but I think the delays are kind of a cheat. I am looking for a pedal that does Chris Cain without any fizzieness.
