I don't talk too much about the amp settings because I think this is personal taste. Start on the clean channel with everything at 12 o'clock and adjust to your ears' content.

Firstly, brilliant videos mate, actually says how things are In a straightforward and easy to follow way! I've watched a fair bit of your content and it's helped loads, and belive me I need it😅. What would be a amazing instruction video would be is how to use your pick hand, different rhythms, methods etc, I think you presenting one like that would help loads of folk. Anyway please keep posting, your awesome. Cheers Mark.

@rockabillyrevolution

put all the dials to 12 ociock then add or subtract bass / treble / mids to suit your taste. Sometimes, I just put on one tone setting on full and close off the rest to get a special effect but that is rare. hope this helps and thanks for your comment.

Totally agreed. For the Sound you need good palm muting, Delay and just "a" guitar with some kind of clean amp... That's all you need for Rockabilly.. except you want the wiggle stick sound, then you need a Bigsby. I tried different Trem systems.. but nothing really comes close to a Bigsby, except for the Duesenberg one... Doing it on a Strat or Floyd Rose... really doesn't sound right to me. haha... But as always that's just a personal thing, whatever floats anyones boat! The one thing that unites us is that we Rock! TCR!

@@rockabillyrevolution I agree. Because it's also more acoustic for me. Those Jazzguitars are just plain great. Gretsch is just great Quality, no matter at which pricepoint. Played from Streamliners over Electromatics to a Brian Setzer Hotrod.. They all have that.. Gretsch Sound...I'm still have my eyes on a Orange Electromatic.. It's just too iconic of a color✌🏻

Hi Colin having watched your video I wanted to get the same Delay pedal i.e Belcat 303 but they are very expensive now In your opinion would the new Belcat DLY 603 do the exact same job as the 303 as I'm on a bit of a tight budget?
@rockabillyrevolution
@rockabillyrevolution 2 года назад
I would expect so Paul but I haven't played one personally. One of my students recently bought one and seemed quite happy with it. The delay effect is quite a basic one so most pedals can pull it off. I hope this is helpful. Colin

@rockabillyrevolution
@rockabillyrevolution 3 года назад
Thanks for your feedback OLR. Apologies for not being more explicit on the delay settings. I had text up when I was holding the pedal advising to replicate the settings. Ideally, you are looking for quite a short delay time in the region of 150ms or 9 o'clock on the rate setting, if your pedal is more basic like mine. 1 repeat with the same level as the original signal which is usually 12 o'clock on level and repeat settings. I hope this is useful and thanks very much for your interest. keep rocking!

I have exactly the same pedals. ..with a Bugera v5 and a Peavey Delta Blues ..and it really sounds. With more money you can try all the Nocturne Pedals. ..like Atomic Brain....
@rockabillyrevolution
@rockabillyrevolution 3 года назад
Hi Jerome. Thanks for your comment. Have you tried the nocturne pedals? They are a significant investment but I have heard good things. I have a way huge aqua puss but it doesn't really get the tone I want.

@@DanielFavio I am interested in that pedal - do you get quite a lot of variance on the tone options?
@DanielFavio
@DanielFavio 3 года назад
@@rockabillyrevolution you can adjust the amount of bass you want, the preamp button adds a little brightness bite and gain, the Abby button gives you an additional boost to overdrive your amp or pedals and the tape modulation and tape mix mobs emulate tape age and warble. So yes you get some features that give you some Tweakable tonal options

@@rockabillyrevolution a bit late but I actually had the Aqua Puss too and sold it to put towards the Nocture Mystery Brain - don't regret it at all. I also use the American Sound but straight into PA.. no amp for live. They are the only two pedals I have apart from a tuner

Gr8 vid mate .Can I ask is the landlord delay box for £30 ok ?? I havent got a ton of money and i am a bass player but I still dabble on my crap guitar and 10wt amp ,so would that do the trick .The JHS pedals sound good but are £100
@rockabillyrevolution
@rockabillyrevolution 3 года назад
Hi friend! I haven't played the landlord delay myself so difficult to be certain on that. However, I have the JHS milkman and quite honestly it's not any better than my £20 pedal other than it looks cool and has a boost switch. Chances are you will be fine with a pedal at £30. many thanks for your feedback! Colin

Did you replace the Tone Master with the Blues Cube?
@rockabillyrevolution
@rockabillyrevolution 3 года назад
Hi Jason! No I have both now because I like to have 2 amps in case one fails for any reason at a gig. It's never happened mind you! Both the BC and TM are great for slightly different reasons. The TM has a bit more rock and roll mojo in my opinion but the BC is more versatile for tone options.

Is there a way I can get a rockabilly tone without a pedal? I’m a broke newbie lol! I’ve got a beginners amp and a donner strat
@rockabillyrevolution
@rockabillyrevolution 2 года назад
Hi there, most amps have a delay setting - if so you just need one repeat fairly close after the original signal. Failing that, they normally have built in reverb which you can use instead. The early guitarists had virtually no effects. You want a clean channel with a slight bit of gain so that there is a mild crunch tone. I hope this helps! Keep rocking! :-)

Is it normal for the pedal to introduce ice pick? The one I have seen to exaggerate the top end and make it almost unusable
@rockabillyrevolution
@rockabillyrevolution 2 года назад
Hi David, apologies but I am not familiar with the expression ice pick. What do you mean by this?
@DavidGarcia-pi9wn
@DavidGarcia-pi9wn 2 года назад
@@rockabillyrevolution Ice pick means something is extremely extremely bright to the point of it being really harsh and unpleasant on your ears Like it physically hurts I was thinking of getting a higher quality pedal or something
@rockabillyrevolution
@rockabillyrevolution 2 года назад
@@DavidGarcia-pi9wn that doesn't sound much fun. To be honest, a lot of pedals seem to have settings which can induce unpleasant tones / feedback. I am not sure who would choose to use these settings but presumably some people must like them! :-)If you can get useable tones that are workable for you then possibly it would be OK to stick with the pedal but if not, then definitely an upgrade sounds in order. best wishes, Colin

Great advices! Furthermore, some people will spend lots of money on « better » pickups. I believe that any pickup output can be tweaked from the amp or guitar knobs. I get nice results from a scooped mid range settings. I also use a compressor pedal to get more punch.
