When you are planning to do a 2 coat application, never fully cure the first coat! You will not get adhesion between the two coats. only cook the first coat until it just starts to gel then apply the second coat!!!

This was a fantastic video. I never knew how easy it would be to powder coat. I can’t wait to try it some day. I’ve been doing cerakoat for years- I’m looking forward to the day I can try powder coating. Awesome content bro!

Some tips too. You could use the oven racks to hang from, then put it the oven without touching the paint. Let it hang from same wire you sprayed with. That way you don't mess up the powder in transport. Plus spraying over some sort of clean containment, you could reuse the paint.

That oven is nicer than the one in my kitchen😂

Great video! There are several videos out on powder coating, but you really simplified the process. I've been doing it with the harbor freight system. After seeing this, I'm gonna step up to the Eastwood. Thanks!

Just a tip: I started with the older dual voltage Eastwood model years ago and still use it from time to time to this day. Try spraying around 5-7 psi and work a little more slowly. That system has its limits but that will help the coating come out more even. 👍🏼👍🏼

Good video! One thing I found that helps tremendously with adhesion (not as big of a deal with shiny new parts, but with older stuff that ends up being what I coated most) is to use a phosphate etching pre-treatment. I think i got mine from Columbia Coatings, but its been years so not positive. Really helped out when I used to rebuild old motorcycles.

I have my set of 15" factory Jeep wheels I'm just itching to try powder coating on. Eastwood has some really awesome products.
