Kupilka composite material Kareline, from manufacturer's site: Kareline is produced from coniferous pulp and plastics suitable for foodstuffs, both with share of 50 percent. The material can be formed freely using a so called injection molding technique. The products resemble wood closely. It can be dyed to almost any color. The material can also be welded. There is no need to use glue in the production. After use the product can be safely disposed by, for example, burning.

Definitely recommend SuperLight tarp. We have used it for years alongside the tent (as rain shelter). Works well and is dureable enough for week long trekking in Lapland, at least.

Rainproof mittens...did not know those excisted. Had to order a pair because I have often nearly freexed my fingers off bicycling in spring and autum chilling rain.

Good point about cycling, will definitely use those mittens for that as well.

My personal favorite gear that I own for people in Finland looking for a good, but cheap tarp. Motonet's Woodlander 3m x 3m tarp is excellent product for the price (29€). It is surprisingly durable and waterproof. Though it has lackluster guidelines, few stake out points and cheap stakes, but you can make do with these shortcomings. And its rather bulky, but not bad (about the same size as DD Hammock in the video). Used it now for 3 years and haven't had a issue.

I haven’t had much luck with those types of tarps (no experiences with that specific model though). For me the grommets seem to always fail. They are cheap and waterproof though , that’s for sure.

got a trifecta thanks to your vid on 2go systems, good bit of kit man. recently sold my hill people gear SAR kit bag, it was amazing but the UK is not remote enough to be running round with a big Multicam chest rig, people are so weird about it. my slightly smaller green one is fine though. weirdos man

I totally know what you mean. People have asked “are you from the military” when the only camo gear I have is my jacket - and that isn’t even in the Finnish M05 camo!

@TaivalOutdoors Год назад

I discovered your channel today, watching all the videos from morning till late evening. Non-stop. I enjoy your content, really. I love your backpacking gear choices - not lightweight but sturdy and with function. Learnt a lot today! Thank you! Greetings from Latvia! 🟥⬜🟥 P.S. The dry bags tip is great. I've recently started using them (no valve) in my earthquake kit to get the volume of clothing and shelter items down. I don't think the valve is strictly necessary but it would certainly be easier.

Not the sexiest bit of gear, but very useful.

The trick has been around as long as we've had plastic garbage bags!
@thebeardprevails5246
@thebeardprevails5246 Год назад
@@trikyy7238 The dry bags are a bit more durable and there's a neat little bonus when you have more than one, you can use them for dedicated water collection/storage. Pick one colour bag to pull water out of a stream or pond, and then pass through filtration/boiling in to another colour for dedicated clean water bags.
@trikyy7238
@trikyy7238 Год назад
Yeah, I know, it's just an old trick. I use dry bags now, too.
@TaivalOutdoors
@TaivalOutdoors Год назад
@@trikyy7238 Lining your backpack with a trashbag is indeed something we used to do in the military over a decade a go. However the main point of using these drybags for me is the compressibility which normal garbage bags lack.

Hyvä video taas. Hei, Eikö tule reikiä tarppiin kun taitat sen allesi ground sheetiksi , kuten tuossa yhdessä kuvassa? vai laitatko jotain pehmikettä alle? ehkä olen itse hysteerinen puhkeamisen/hajoamisen suhteen kun varmasti itselläni joku huomaamaton käpy/kivi tulisi läpi siitä=D
@TaivalOutdoors
@TaivalOutdoors Год назад
@soolo22
@soolo22 Год назад
Hyvä video. Mulla on tuo DD kevyt tarppi. Tuo kriteeri on ehkä kaikkein suurin mun tarvikkeissa.
@TaivalOutdoors
@TaivalOutdoors Год назад
@soolo22
@soolo22 Год назад

Is your titanium pot still like new one from inside after all these years? Mine has some spots there due overheating but I think it can still be used? I have tried to clean it with all known methods.

What about all the gear when you are by the fire, during winter? I got a bunch of holes in some gear, apparel
@TaivalOutdoors
@TaivalOutdoors Год назад
I have maybe two holes in one jacket, but that's why I use my heavy luhka to cover me these days when by the fire in the winter. Haven't had issues with other gear yet.

Risukeitin ja trangian sprii-poltin on hyvä kombo. Itsellä on savotan happy stove.
@TaivalOutdoors
@TaivalOutdoors 10 месяцев назад
