Well said Brother talk about being ripped off . I have a 3 axel with a heavy drop down steer axel it now has a cat 3406 and had the Cummins engine removed I still have my 18spd manual transmission I'll never own a automatic transmission in a truck my jeep OK but not my peterbilt that's truth Brother warranty is expensive
So true personally I've always ran caterpillar, right up until I couldn't a few years ago, C.A.R.B. since CAT is outta trucking in my opinion Cummins is the best alternative. just my opinion they seem to check most of the boxes...
I can tell you from owning a (8V-71) and Driving a Detroit Diesel 92 turbo series. In two different Fire Engine. I own the 8-71 That is mated to a manual transmission the 92 series is a Allison Automatic. They both get only at most 6 MPG. The 92 series really gets up and moves from stop but it averages 4 MPG. Just saying owning old Fire Rigs are very poor MPGs
Need to purchase an existing glider. Biden immediately made gliders illegal. Claimed 1 truck without emissions polluted as much as 200,000 trucks with emissions (def). Total bullshit. Used gliders are going for as much as new with emissions. You know who you need to vote for. Bring The Glides Back!
Don't use a 13 L engine to pull over a 40,000 lb load through mountains.. sure you can dial up the horsepower but, that puts a lot of stress on a smaller engine.. 13 L should be used for day cabs or US Midwest runs with little to no hills or mountains... Personally Proven: If you run a 13 L engine on hills or mountains you will have less fuel economy than a 15 L engine..
Oils are like batteries only a few companies, any oil is good just change it at around 250 hours and you're fine. I have 20 years in a highway district mechanic and never had a problem with bulk 15- 40 .
