The golden maknae of BTS aka Jungkook has been pretty open about several parts of his life. It is his relatability and honesty that draws people to him and we can totally see why. He joined Big Hit only because of RM
Jungkook took part in Superstar K3 back in 2011 and received calls from seven agencies that were bigger than Big Hit at that point. On Mnet's New Yang Nam Show, he revealed that he chose Big Hit only because he thought "Rap Monster was so cool"
Jungkook entered high school late
By one year! This was because of his early debut and packed schedule. He also graduated in 2017 at the age of 21.
He went to U.S to train and almost considered becoming a dancer
In order to hone his skills, Jungkook actually went to the U.S to train and returned back to Korea contemplating whether he should become a dancer. It was Jimin who convinced him to stay with BTS.
His stage name was almost about to be "Seagull"
Before their debut, Jungkook thought of several stage names and Seagull was in the running too. It is actually a symbol of his native city Busan.
His "Rather be dead than cool" tattoo
The maknae actually has Nirvana's 1991 song Stay Away lyric tattoo on his arm. It is very close to his life motto as the lyrics refer to a person who would rather be themself and not care about what others think.
His mom dreamt of gold before he was born
During an interview with Focus News, Jungkook revealed what his mom dreamt. He said, "Rain started to fall in a village but the places that got touched by the raindrops turned into gold." Now we know why he turned out to be the beloved "Golden" maknae of BTS!
He is the youngest recipient of the "Order of Cultural Merit"
BTS was awarded this great honour for their contribution to the growth of K-Pop back in 2018 when Jungkook was just 22.
