In the Torah, Rosh Hashanah is called Yom Teruah (יום תרוּעה) which means day of blasting. It began to be called Rosh Hashanah during the Babylonian captivity in Jeremiah.
Well I am Pentecostal, Christian and I am sooooo much enjoying being knowledgeable about the Jewish tradition and seeing that I serve a Jewish Jesus it opens my understanding about His background. I have subscribe so this will be a learning process and I am very excited.
I AM AN OVERCOMER ohhhhhhh where is ur ministry, I listen to the shofar in the mornings or if I feel I am being defeated in any situation . Or just Learning the sounds and meaning.. happy new year 5780. SHALOM
Shalom Martha ! Please read Exodus12:2 ...that’s God’s True Biblical New Year‼️ Many Babylonian traditions remain, however their man made traditions that continue to change and pollute Avinu’s Truths!!
This is a lot of tradition and a lot of non-biblical tradition. I encourage you to check out other resources as we celebrate the biblical appointed times ourselves.
Yeshua Hamashiach answered, I am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the father except through me. John 14:6 I tell you this dear one because it is the truth. Your videos have brought me great JOY! Shalom 💜
Watching your videos makes me want to convert so much more lol. I’ve had a dormant curiosity about Judaism and Jewish culture for years so your channel has been great and informational for me in seeing how real Jewish people live their day to day life
DID YOU KNOW that 9-26-2022 and the Jewish year 5783 both add up to the number 23? The number 23 represents a new beginning and transformation. Rapture High Watch date for me! 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Talk a little slower, please! ... If you do other videos, ..... it will relax folks a little, and they will be able to learn, listen much better! ...... Happy New Year! May you, and your family be blessed .... with safety, and good health! 💓💞💓💞
Thank you for this video. I learned so much. My husband and I are Christians but we believe in celebrating the Jewish feasts so thanks for the link to the streaming service .☺
Our Holy Holidays are a covenant between us and HaShem . It is not meant to be celebrated if your not Jewish . If your heart is touched by our Torah, look into conversion . We'd love you to be a part of the family 🇮🇱
@@tubechick8 as a Christian we believe in the same God . Yeshua we know. In the book of Isaiah. So when we have a lot in common . We have a convenient with God thru the blood of Jesus Christ. Shalom
May we all be inscribed in the Book of Life with health and much mazel. May anti semitism come to an end. And may believers in Jesus stay off these sites and respect that he is NOT G-d nor our Messiah AMEN!!🇮🇱
Marion! I loved the shofar facts. P.s. as a mom to young kiddos, I also love taking advantage of streaming. Such a 21st century luxury! And I get to hear all the sermons without having to mind my wiggle worms. When they’re a tad older we’ll start attending the adult services again. Beautiful shofar, btw!
My shul always has separate services for kids too young for adult services, you might have a shul near you who do this as well, in case you miss the physical service.
Kas P. We attend all the kids services for sure (I’ll have a video up on my high holidays logistics) and I know Marion does too. But if you want to hear the fancier music and the adult sermons, it’s worth streaming those. I always love em!
@@LittleKosherLunch Oh! My shul has the school teachers stay with the kids (kind of like babysitting) and so if you RSVP you can attend the adult services while the kids play and have their own mini service! I don't have children but its great for those who do! And we always thank the teachers for doing that for the parents.
I am a follower of Jeshua. Jesus Christ. I am not Jewish but he was and I believe the Jewish ways are very sacred and very meaningful. I believe I am more on Gids Calendar than the Babylonian or worldly Calendar. You are ver precious. Thank you and God bless you.
Hi n how are you I'm a baptized advent of Shabbat still learning new things about your religion on how and what really love to visit the Holy land one day blessings 🕎🛐♥️♥️🙏👑🇮🇱😄🛐
Interesting about the shofar. I had never heard about this tradition. I'm a cultural historian. The best evidence we have for the first medical instruments (excluding the human voice) is, in fact, African from the paleolithic era. They are "rock gongs". They show marks of being used percussively to produce a sound. They are either naturally shaped or carved by hand to have a more resonant sound that the average rock. However, could it be something like the shofar? Well ... I wouldn't rule it out entirely. If it's animal bone then fewer would survive 20,000 years compared to rock. Given what we see in paleolithic art, it's very possible that animal bone instruments were invented at that time. They emphasized animals so much in their visual art. If so, perhaps Judaic oral history carries this collective memory from the paleolithic. But, truth be told, the first instruments were probably the least complex ones to make. And that's the rock gong. P.S. Jewish traditions are so much nicer than Christian ones. Quirky perhaps, to us outsiders, but all religions are. The thing with Christianity is they are the victims of their own success. The more followers you have, the more traditions tend to get simplified and reduced to "common denominators".
Good afternoon mummy I am greeting you according to my time in Namibia 🇳🇦 right now. I want to participate in this coming rosh Hashanah. when exactly begin to prepare myself and my family?
Well Marion, looks like it's time for another congratulatory comment on reaching yet another subscriber milestone with 9k!:) I'm so glad to see your channel continue to grow so fast. This will hopefully be my first year celebrating the High Holy days so I am looking forward to learning more about them here on your channel! ❤️
Hey Marion, great video! Thanks for sharing! I have a similar video uploading tomorrow (as long as everyone goes to bed on time lol, still have some editing). To add to the list of Rosh Hashanahs on the calendar, we celebrate a Rosh Hashanah of Chassidus and chassidic philosophy on the 19th of the month of Kislev! Love your outlook on sin. So important to remember it's not about sin, but about being human! :)
@@MyJewishMommyLife and to you and yours. My babies are grown up. We have more Catholics in our families than Jews- I have a multi-purpose shrine and am not into organized religion..but since my mother died in 2018, I have a desire to go return to my roots even if only for tonight. ~~I am a Jew, and always will be in my heart. I am a solitary practitioner- On another note- I have a question- I thought it was respectful to write G-d instead of God & was told that unless we are a rabbi , that we have no rights to that.
How beautiful this holiday I did get to celebrate. Purim are small home church preached or told us why we celebrate it and the Jewish couple who taught us made Hanna hats it was very nice
Hello there, I am a new subscriber. The Lord has placed it on my heart to celebrate/observe Rosh Hashanah this year as a Christian. I am wondering as we get closer will you be posting videos about it?
I am a Spirit filled born again believer, but since my Messiah was Jewish I am very interested in how holidays were celebrated in His time. Thank you for your lovely videos, and your new kitchen is absolutely beautiful! It's exactly how I would like mine one day 🥰 God's blessings on you and happy holiday 💝
Thank you for this teaching.. it is God's feasts... the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We as believers is Yeshua should also know the meaning of the feast's..
Shana Tovah! These Holy Days of reflection are a time to reset and learn to know thyself and improve upon it. After Yom Kippur, I recommend reading "Revelations On Interstellar Highway 10". Shalom.
thank you for sharing it's very interesting I see many differences between "the way" of the Messiah Jesus and rabbinical judaisim . Some verses that come to mind as I hear you share are.All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God we all like sheep have gone astray we have turned every one to his own way.the blood of Messiah cleanses us from all unrighteousness .without the shedding of blood Thier is no remission of sins (Leviticus ).The Greatest commandment is hear oh Israel the lord our God the lord is one and you shall love the lord your God with all your heart your soul your mind and your strength and the second is like it you shall love your neighbour as yourself upon these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.because the Messiah Jesus is the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world those who believe in him are cleanses forever from Thier sins by his sacrifice .CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES WAS BURIED AND ROSE AGAIN ON THE THIRD DAY ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES 1corinthinans 15:3-4Jesus said behold I make all things new.he scriptures talk about a new heavens and a new earth .the kingdom of heaven is within you Jesus said.thank you I hope you have a lovely holiday .
Please stay on your own sites! Don't pollute us with your idolatry . Jesus isn't our Messiah, hes NOT G-d or His son! G-d's covenant is between Him and His Jewish children. We do not have an old testament . We have the Torah. The new testament has more holes than swiss cheese. If a Jew believes your lies HaShem will turn from them in the afterlife . I was a believer 21 yrs and thank G-d turned back to my Judaism! So please go away!!!
@@tubechick8 the Lady who owns this site isn't saying that. So why should you.She is very Humble and gracious. What you are trying to drive people away.
As i remember.. another reason for new things in the new fruits is because we use to say 'shehecheyanu' on the kiddush of the 2nd day of Rosh Hashanah. So having a new fruit is a way to make sure that if the 'shehecheyanu' is not really needed to be said about the second day, it will be for the new fruit.. It's kind of backup because we are not sure that 'shehecheyanu' is needed on the 2nd day
