In this video, I fully analyze 10 extremely famous paradoxes. During the research for this video, I found dozens of paradoxes but I sifted out the less understandable or intriguing and put together my favorite 10 for you. Comment your favorite down below and let me know an idea for the next one. This channel is going to the moon.

If traveling back in time is possible, we should have been visited by someone from the future.

Great video as always. Do you personally like unsolved or with-solution paradoxes?

No paradox exists. So there's that.

Most of these are not actually paradoxes.

@@TheRawcotic I was wrong - half of them are not actually paradoxes. The Prisoners' Dilemma is a game theory though experiment, not a paradox. The Monty Hall Problem is a probability puzzle, not a paradox. Schrodinger's Cat is a thought experiment - an analogy of quantum superposition, not a paradox. The Infinite Hotel is a thought experiment which illustrates a counterintuitive property of infinite sets, not a paradox. The Suffering 'Paradox' is a normal consequence of human existence, not a paradox.

Solutions 1 - omnipotence is a flawed concept, only sustained through religious extremism 2 - that's not a paradox, that just demonstrates that optimal solutions in social systems require planned cooperation and that the concept of self-interest generating the best possible societal outcome is a myth 3 - these are paradoxical statements rather than paradoxes as such. They are statements that cannot become true. 4 - this is a good logical paradox and demonstrates one of the limitations or flaws of logic. The solution is to acknowledge the categorisation of statements as being other than true and false. 5 - not really a paradox, but an example of unintuitive probabilities. 6 - I've never understood why this is described as a paradox. Interstellar travel is a practical impossibility, and there is no certainty that intelligent life exists in this galaxy. The issue is trying to get some handle on the odds of something minutely improbable occurring over a enormous number of events. 7- Schrodinger's cat demonstrates the flawed view we have from dealing with things at a macroscopic perspective. It is partially resolved through correct understanding of the standard model, but still leaves the issue of an objective universe unaddressed and the question of what an observer is unanswered. 8 - this is a paradox that is completely unresolved and really depends on the method by which time travel were done. This is then largely a moot point then as our understanding of physics indicates that practical time travel is impossible. If time travel is possible at all the answer would also end up being dependent on properties of the universe that currently not fully understood. 9 - infinity is a mathematical concept with properties that are useful in solving real world problems, but it is unlikely that infinity actually exists in the real universe and thus using it can lead to logical paradoxes that would appear unresolvable. It's a little similar to paradox 1. 10 - this exists because many of the goals people set in life and the way that results are measured are somewhat fickle. A better example to me is that disasters such as hurricanes and earthquakes typically generate a measurable improvement in the economy, and whist people appreciate full employment no-one would wish natural disasters. Humans have a paradoxical nature
