Jericho’s inclusion in WrestleMania 2000 still shocks me to this very day. The fact that AKI cleverly used previous resources from WCW/nWo Revenge and copy/paste into this new game was remarkable and the fact his model was still faithful to the at the time current Jericho is just another reminder why AKI truly was the king of wrestling games back then. Simply outstanding👏.
Randy Orton’s Burn in my Light theme song being included in Smackdown vs Raw deserves an honorable mention, he changed themes on August 30th 2004, and November 2nd 2004 when the game dropped his new theme was in the game AND his singles titantron was added as well, just 2 months before the games official release
@@michaelburke7978 yes, it wasn't. But licensing issues for music does, just like how the nWo music or Voodoo Child wasn't in SvR 2006 even though Hollywood Hogan was in the game. Besides, I bet Randy Orton didn't have a separate slot for his music in the game nor a separate slot for the entrance video. Adding that in takes effort too (not too hard but an effort), I know since I studied Game Development.
I know this list only talks about non-DLC inclusions in older games, but I think the inclusion of “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt as a pre-order bonus for WWE 2k20 is specially interesting. If I remember correctly, The Fiend made his in-ring debut in August 2019, and only 3 months later he was already in the game.
Jericho in WM2000 was so good. You could tell they rushed to get him in there by his entrance taunt facing the wrong way, and that rare early version of his theme
He did that pose the front way during his debut promo, technically. Also, a glitch: if you give a CAW Gangrels music and Stone Colds walk animation, they'll turn around and do the taunt backwards.
Orton in Shut your mouth was so fun and unique to any other version of himself. It introduced me to what he used to be like as a rookie from OVW and I really enjoyed playing as him through Season mode, he went from a rookie battling curtain jerkers but by December I had plenty of title wins, wins over characters like Taker, Lesnar, Rock, Jericho, and many other main ever talent, by the end I main evented Wrestlemania with Hogan and regained the Undisputed championship… good times. I miss old season mode so much, the freedom it provided was so awesome
*June* 2003 for Kane's unmasking, putting it to the very limit of the deadline for HCTP, actually the same week of WWE TV that Ultimo debuted for WWE, at the MSG shows. Also, Orton debuting in April and Cena and Rey in June/July 2002 is (I think) the only reason he got in to SYM and they didn't...
@@tasdrumer679 Had nothing to do with it. The character models for Jeff and Hogan were completed. So adding another model had more to do with time rather than space.
I will never forget owning & obsessively playing the Sony PS2 & also SmackDown: Shut Your Mouth. I remember staying up all night playing this video game, trying to further my progress, also unlocking things, & I really liked the version of Randy Orton when he first debuted in the WWE.
I believe Kane's tank top look debuted at Summerslam 2000 at the end of August. No Mercy has this Attire as his base outfit. Also it is a createable outfit in the preset templates in Smackdown 2. One last thing is, although he didnt make it, the British Bulldog's attire from Revenge and an updated face model for the Bulldog is in Wrestlemania 2000. If there was maybe one more month, Bulldog would've been in Wrestlemania 2000 as well. Raven's face is in No Mercy too. Hinting that if there was more time, he would be included.
@@zacktyler2810 yeah. My bad. I forgot to say it was Wrestlemania 2000 that British Bulldog was cut from. His face is face model 49. And his pants from Revenge were ported over as well as his boots. Only thing missing for Bulldog in that game was his updated attire and a character slot.
Actually in June with the nWo, hence his "Attire A". And that he didn't have a wrestling attire option, just t-shirt and jeans, indicated that he was just in for nostalgia as his in-ring comeback wasn't confirmed until late July. They wanted him managing the nWo, but couldn't have Shawn Michaels be an NPC...
Sable was a fast addition to Here Comes The Pain considering she returned in April of 2003. It was weird how she made it, but other prominent Divas like Molly, Ivory and Dawn Marie didn’t
I vaguely remember playing WWF Royal Rumble Arcade only one time arpund 2003. For my birthday i went to the arcade and every other time i went there they only had Wrestlemania the arcade game which was ok but i was into the Gamecube wrestling games, so i was excited to finally see Royal Rumble. Only played it for a bit though, this was before i had reguler access to internet so i had only read about this game in magazines, etc
I never understood why Orton looked so bad in Here Comes the Pain and Smackdown vs Raw, but look amazing in Raw 2. Surely they could've just looked at him from that game and copy it over.
The question is Why aren’t some wrestlers in wwe video games that have been there for more than a year For example Billy Kidman From 2001- 2005 Al snow 1999 - 2008 Maven 2002-2005
I have a theory that Cena was tweaked slightly just before HCTP came out. His pre-Basic Thuganomics theme is in the game as menu music and his stats are a dead average 75OVR. Plus the F-U does little to no damage.
That’s still weak sauce. He had a WWE championship match on PPV in April 2003, and was feuding with Taker in June at the deadline. Yet they gave Edge an 78 purely based off what he was doing from June to September 2002. Literally after that he wasn’t doing shit. They should have switched tbch.
@@silversoulken Your difference is that Edge was a pre-established guy at that point. Cena had a title match, but he was being fed to Brock. He was still a big-mouthed midcard heel at that point, so I reckon they'd only just gone "Alright, so now he's got Basic Thuganomics, we can change that, we can dummy his old theme out to menu music, we can't alter the lack of damage his finisher does or stats though."
@@skyatollah2skyharder276 Cena had been feuding with Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Undertaker, and Chris Benoit in 2003 he should've had a much higher rating. A lot of the ratings in that game make no sense.
Randy Orton - Shut your Mouth Goldberg - WCW/nWo Revenge Kane - WarZone Ultimo Dragon - Fire Pro Wrestling nWo - Virtual Pro Wrestling 64 Chris Jericho - WCW/nWo Revenge
You should do a video on non-WWE wrestlers who were available to use through the CAW mode. Such as Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe. I think they where in HCTP?
Is NWO (Hogan, Hall and Nash) in Wrestlemania X8 (GC) included? They debut or return at No Way Out Feb. 2002 and the game itself came out on early summer June that same year. Update: Nevermind my bad lol.
