DJ definitely made the right move. He's at a weightclass that ages notoriously fast and he was over 30 at that time. He wanted to make enough money for him and his family to live comfortably well after he finished fighting and One offered him that opportunity.
I also agree that the lighter weight fighters don't get the same respect from the American fan base in particular, which is a shame. I personally enjoy the more technical style and the truly suprise knockouts. I feel like those fights are less predictable.

Yeah, he made it clear when he signed that he wasn't going to fight Cain even if they offered both of them a shitload of cash. It sucks because Cain spent the vast majority of that time out with injuries and DC spend his physical prime fighting at LHW, which wasn't his optimal weight class.

Prime Fedor against Lesnar is something I would love to see. More specifically, how bad the beatdown would've been. It could also be very short cause there's a good chance that Lesnar would rush in for a takedown and Fedor would just instantly lock up a submission lol.
You call me crazy but i think Lesnar could've pulled the upset - he was one of the best HWs in that era hating him or not and that's coming from a Fedor fan.

Cyborg was the most feared women's fighter until that point - even after her loss to Amanda i would say Cyborg's reputation she build prior that would overshadow Amanda's image forever (not actual success), like Mike Tyson's reputation for example. So Cyborg's berserker aura could've possibly put seeds of doubt in GDR's mind.

It's disheartening especially if he loses and he'll get tossed out of the mix for the belt just like that. Anyone remember Hatsu Hioki. There was a time where he was offered a shot against Aldo after only 2 fights in the UFC but turned it down because he felt like he wasn't ready. He went on to lose his next 3 and went 3-5 in the UFC before being released
