Ok, so you give your dogs cooked brown rice and chicken too!? But plus some other goodies as well! I feel better. I literally took my girl off dry dog food and have her on this diet too. This is why I subscribed to you! Thank you!

Raw eggs are actually very good for dogs and their coat. It helps to produce a shinier coat and maintains the skin's natural oils that can be lost during baths. it's also a more bio available source of protein that aids in muscle tissue repair and growth. I've been feeding my dog raw eggs from she was 6 weeks old and her coat compared to her siblings is far superior as well as her size, she's larger and leaner than most of her siblings. The shell is also good for them because of the calcium in the shells that help with bone health, and the lining actually aids in joint health.

a Dog has Ancestral (even though they are highly domesticized) Gut Flora/Enzymatic Bacterium that are able to handle the Bacteria and If fed Fresh and from the fridge all is well as many Holistic Vets feed RAW feed diets and most vets are not taught more than 4 hours of (likely Propagandized) Nutrition or Dietary. To us Diet is Medicine Let Food be Your Medicine Same with non-humans and back to mostly their anecestral feeding and Biologically Correct or Appropriate feeding.. I do about 50/50 (+organ meats) ,= Half Raw and half cooked or heated ! Some Dehydrated and some Freeze-Dried too ! xo

Good advice about raw, it’s almost a trend now that if you don’t feed raw you aren’t looking after your dogs well. They say if you cook food it has no nutritional value. They use this to defend their raw meat diet. People don’t realise that scientific studies prove that cooked food only kills about 10% of the vitamins/ minerals. I follow a home cooked food personally with 10% offal and 20 % veg and even a few carbs like quinoa. My dogs have had blood tests that show their liver function, iron levels etc are in the normal range. No problems and they are now 6 years old. They have shiny coats and very clear eyes. For me, the risk of bad bacteria and the fairly common problem of bowel blockages from bones are just not worth the risks. It is true that their ancestors the wolf ate raw meat of course, but what people don’t realise is that they did not live as long as our domesticated dogs due to their higher risk lifestyle., and lack of our care and vet care. Nature is cruel and that’s how it is. Our dogs are pampered and that’s why they live long healthy lives mostly. Except for peoples intervention of breeding dogs in unnatural shapes and sizes of course :9/

I have an 80lb doberman who was sick, the vet told me to give her boiled chicken and rice. She loved it so much that I've been giving her chicken, a half sweet potato, a few blueberries and some green beans. Is this diet ok for all the time? I bought some calves liver and hamburger also. If it's ok, how much meat should I be giving her?
@BarkingGoodChef
@BarkingGoodChef Год назад
Those are all really good ingredients, and I’m so happy to hear your Doberman is feeling better. As for a long-term diet plan, please check with your vet to be sure there are no possible nutritional deficiencies. As with humans, I recommend varied ingredients, and I personally also supplement my dogs’ food with a canine vitamin powder. All my best to you!

At just half a grape, your dog is probably ok, but keep in mind I’m not a vet. I hope everything is ok, and trust me: we’ve all been there, dropping food on the floor only to have our dog snatch it.

At what age can I start feeding my dogs homemade food? I have a 7 month old German shepherd and a nine-year-old small mutt? Thanks also can you do a recipe for dogs with diarrhea. They were so many videos on RU-vid that they were very old.
@BarkingGoodChef
@BarkingGoodChef 3 года назад
Because your 9-year-old is well into adulthood, they should be fine eating homemade food. Puppies and dogs still in growth stage, however, need specific nutrients. For that reason I always encourage the best commercial food you can buy for growing pups. As I’m a chef and not a dog dietitian, please consult with your vet for your dog’s needs. As for diarrhea, you might want to try fiber-rich foods. I’ve got several videos on meals with brown rice, and another on wheat berries for constipation issues. Thank you for watching and all my best to you and your Pack.

Omg I’ve been giving my dog raw eggs for a while and have been complaining about his excessive shedding 😮 I didn’t know the eggs could have caused it
@BarkingGoodChef
@BarkingGoodChef Год назад
You can try cooking them and see how he does, as eggs in general are a great option for dogs. If he is still shedding, perhaps it’s allergy-related. Hoping it subsides regardless. 🙏

About raw meat. Its my understanding its all about the acid in the dogs stomach. On cooked meat they develop less acidic guts. On raw the stomach becomes much more acidic and kills any bugs on the meat. So switching from cooked to raw just take it slow. The dogs stomach will adjust.
@nmgr30
@nmgr30 2 года назад
Question. When you cook the meat should it be seasoned or not? Please advice!
@BarkingGoodChef
@BarkingGoodChef 2 года назад
I tend to season very little if at all for dogs. I might use a little salt or pinch of tumeric. Otherwise, I go very plain - and they love it. Hope this helps and thank you for watching!

@BarkingGoodChef
@BarkingGoodChef Год назад
Hi and thanks for your question. Raw diets for dogs is a can of worms, no pun intended. Raw. vs. cooked is a controversial topic. Some vets oppose raw diets, while some dog owners have only good things to say about it. In my personal experience and opinion, I do not recommend a raw diet for dogs. When it comes to meat, poultry, fish, etc., I always cook these proteins. Among my rationale is the prevention of pathogens and the prevention of cross contamination with other foods that humans in my home might ingest (raw chicken = bad). Also, if you are going raw, you really have to trust the meat/supplier to know it's safe. For me and i think most dog owners, i feel it's simply safer and easier to feed cooked foods to dogs. As always, consult your vet for your dog's specific needs. Thanks and all my best to you and your dog.

So when dogs lived in the wild, they somehow ate raw meat with no problem. 🤔 I wonder who cooked their meat for them?
@BarkingGoodChef
@BarkingGoodChef 11 месяцев назад
Bingo. I believe the current thinking is that our dogs today do not live in the wild. They live in our homes. They are not wild; they are domesticated. Of course, it is your decision and responsibility to feed your dog as you see appropriate. I always also encourage speaking with a vet about your dog’s particular needs. Wishing all the best to you and your dog 🙏

Garlic is fine for dogs. My dogs eat it daily. Maybe you need to update your research. It boosts the immune system and also repels fleas. Barf diets are also perfectly fine. Dogs digestive systems are much shorter than humans and it is species appropriate unlike kibble or cooked diets. Your reference source should be updated to include actual experts on nutrition and diets for dogs. ASPCA is not a nutritional expert.
