It baffles me that after the cyberpunk drama got so much attention that games are still being releases unfinished. Companies should be held accountable for this BS. The idea that a 1.0 version comes AFTER the game has already been released is criminal. Every game should come with a mutli-hour gameplay refund option if this crap is going to become common place.
Agreed, until consumers say enough is enough as a collective, nothing is likely to change. I steer well clear of any new games these days, it's just not worth the gamble.
My opinion on the matter, and it may not be a popular one, is that at least these companies have the opportunity to fix games with updates now. It's no longer that you are stuck with what you got at launch. I've given a lot of credit to CDPR lately, because yeah they messed up pretty bad and their reputation will be forever tarnished, however they could have just given up on Cyberpunk but they have actually put in the time to make it a much better game. Even though these companies can fix games they don't always do, seeing Bethesda and CDPR continue to work on and perfect their games is refreshing.
I personally remember the days where you bought a game for 60, and any updates after that like maps, heroes, etc, where always free. Now those were the days
I'd love to see a video with "Games that are good NOW", and cover games that might've been crap when launched but are Now patched, pristine and worth your time and money. Like No Man's Sky, and maybe one day some of the games you've mentioned here. Idk, that would be both informative and entertaining I think.
So, regarding Harvest Moon, basically any Harvest Moon game after 2013 is a disappointment. The people making the game ARE NOT the original creators of Harvest Moon. Natsume were the NA translators and distributors for the game. When the actual Devs decided to do their own translation and distribution, Natsume kept the name and made their own monstrosity that is Harvest Moon. If you want a good game, play Story of Seasons. They are better and the true Harvest Moon games. Natsume just pushes out low-quality cash grabs; they are EA without the funds essentially.
Yeah, glad someone mentioned this. Story of Seasons and Rune Factory games are in the same genre as Stardew Valley but every one of them should absolutely be played. The new “Harvest Moon” games are total abominations and it’s horrifying that Natsume kept the name and thought that everything was totally fine. The fact they keep releasing new games under that name that each time are little more than asset swaps is really disgusting to me. Meanwhile, Story of Seasons rockets in popularity and continues to design and try out new ideas with every release.
I thought that game was pretty decent, I would've put that Bloodrayne remaster on the list over it, as that was beyond fucking lazy, it makes the GTA trilogy look like the N-Sane Trilogy by comparison.
The idea was amazing if it only had a better plot and a bit better gameplay. The graphics looked good. I think a GOOD werewolf game could be quite fun.
I think where Stardew Valley really gains over Harvest Moon is a very healthy modding community. I currently run Stardew Valley with 47 mods, but there's hundreds of different ones from simple changes like automating machines and your spouse petting animals to larger ones like Stardew Valley Expanded.
Sadly you can‘t compare the new HM titles, to the old harvest moon games. Nowadays it‘s just the name/license that is used. Story of Seasons is the true HM
@@Gojo1911 Yeah lots of people seem to really not know that Harvest Moon isn't Harvest Moon anymore but the english translator who owns the name rights doing copy Harvest Moon's under the name they legally own. So naturally Story of Seasons is way better because those are the real Harvest Moon games.
harvest moon title is no longer harvest moon lmao. "harvest moon" is just a borrowed named buy from translation team, so it is cringe when i heard gameranx didnt know this. story of season is the original game., look up at history of harvest moon.
@@doctorlolchicken7478 another one who didnt know history of harvestmoon, smh, they are shitty develpoer and the only thing they have going is hosting the name.
Ever since developers could release patches for games they started to leave content out that otherwise should have been in the game from the beginning and they also started to put less care into these games because hey they can always release a patch right! And also I'm highly aggravated at the series x optimized games they been releasing! Microsft and advertising states that a game that is optimized is taking full advantage of series x's power correct? Well no they are not! We have games with the X/S logo and it looks an plays like it was made for the one x!!! Take a look at skyrim? Take a look at visage? Take a look at aragami 2? Take a look at wreckfest, assassins creed odyssey, they allow like a one x game instead of a series x game yet the developer half way optimized it slapped the logo on there to make a cash grab off it being so called optimized!! That really upsets me alot! I guess I'm the only one who notices it! After all nothing will get done about it either
Devs: We'll add more guns and content if the game sells well Game sells poorly because of lack of guns and content Devs: ?! It's like the classic N64 bungle; planned increased storage would be released if the console does well, but console loses sales and does poorly (respectively) due to lack of games and inferior versions of popular titles because of it's lack of storage. I love Nintendo and loved the N64 but I think in hindsight they should have shelled out for those Redbook licensing fees and at least could've had a CD addon.
Agree, I bought biomutant on opening day with all the hype. Got half way through the game, got everything on half the world and couldn't bring myself to play it anymore. It got very repetitive and all the castles or forts had the same outline or look. There was nothing new or excited to get me to keep playing 😭
Same, ordered opening day, finished the game just because but I was so overpowered by about 25% in to the game that it was incredibly boring! It had so much potential but they just didn’t deliver!
Harvest moon is actually under the name of "story of seasons" now due to English translation copyright. So that new "harvest moon" isn't made by the same devs. Story of seasons: Pioneers of Olive town is actually the new Harvest Moon dev game.
Was about to comment this then saw you where already on it. It's sad because the copy right holders clearly have no idea what made harvest moon games good.
@@jesseherman5540 Technically it's not a matter of copyright but of trademarks - which doesn't make the story any less of a pity, and Natsume's deliberate strategy of misleading the public any less loathsome.
No, Falcon, you DO need to take a "big dump" on GTA. The fact that so many people _don't_ want to is why this keeps happening. Execs are seeing that by and large the gaming community is willing to accept these unfinished and/or half-assed, lazy, _buggy_ cash grabs that they can just patch later instead of releasing them in a decent state not only like they _should_ but like they _had to_ before the concept of patches on console games was a Thing. We're about the same age. You know the nosedive gaming has taken in that area firsthand. Take a dump on the GTA ✨definitive edition✨. Games released in the metaphorical toilet should be shat on.
This channel has some quality videos but this is the most frustrating thing about it. They are always reviewing games nobody gives a fuck about. And talking about them as if everyone knows all about them
@@colinsanders9504 I for one applaud them for reviewing a variety of video games because they are actually doing their job. They go way beyond what the mainstream is offering and actually explore games that are being overlooked. Whether it be a good or a bad one.
As a kid, I might have been really into the nerf game. Sure its repetitive and boring, but kids are different, like I cant imagine playing the games I used to play and having fun.
D&D: Dark Alliance was the highlight of the year for me. I know a guy who got on Game Pass: it was so broken in the strangest way I've ever seen. Seriously, the guy did a back flip over a group of enemies and, I swear to god, they stopped moving like they didn't know back flips were possible!
Biomutant. I wouldn't necessarily say it sucked but I remember it being very underwhelming in certain aspects. The narrative seemed rushed, not to mention the whole game. Sure, it was very pretty at times but there was so much that could make this game better.
We had some good games this year but unfortunately we also had a lot of companies dropping stinkers as well. Battlefield 2042 left me in pain as a long time fan of the franchise 😔
With 64 player modes and the recent updates it’s honestly great now! Needs a little more polishing but it’s night and day better than how it launched. I would say they fixed it pretty quickly!
@@glassius_prime For bugs and performance, I’ve seen enough battlefield releases to know those can be fixed overtime. My bigger worry is the direction they took the game such as 128 players on big maps, a load of missing features, removal of classes, scaling back the destruction and sound, and a lack of content in the base game like weapon variety. I could go on and on but I’m sure you get the point.
I’m honesty getting sick of falcon shitting on the Ninja Gaiden collection. It’s amazing and fine and the best versions of the games with it. Yeah Ninja Gaiden Black should be in there too, as well as the later games. But it does what it sets out to do. I’ve been loving it
Stop buying games when they come out folks! These half ass done games being released then patched are terrible. We need to take back control with our 💰
Well only 2 games I bought day one this year were lost judgment and p5 strikers and I haven’t been disappointed I just know which devs deserve my support
Yeah I’ve literally held off getting the GTA Trilogy DE. I can’t let them bastardise my memories. I hope they get these three classics to the level they deserve to be, fingers crossed.
@@josephdawggie I didn’t mind paying the full price (although it was a bit pricey, so I don’t blame people for waiting for a discount) but I was never buying the Trilogy, regardless of price, in the state they launched in. Same as Cyberpunk, I just refuse to buy broken games. Lets hope they fix them. 👍🏻.
You know it's a bad year when a game like 'It Takes Two' wins game of the year. Not that it was a bad game but it's kinda sad that there were no AAA titles worthy of game of the year.
I’ve been addicted to BFV since the pacific update. I just hoped there was continued support and we could’ve witnessed an eastern front DLC. It was really immersive especially in breakthrough.
They honestly should’ve done Eastern Front and more America vs German stuff. Maybe the Italian campaign and the classic push through Europe stuff. The biggest problem DICE has had in the past is lack of content issues upon release with some bugs. But 2042 feels so soulless and as someone who’s played Battlefield since BF1942. The game can’t be fixed with patches because the foundation of 2042 is what’s truly broken.
@@kriegsmensoldier8996 It wasn't made by Rockstar, it was made by a moble game developer Grove Street Games. It was Rockstar's IP's, Take2's money, and said moble developers inexperience and lack of development time that came together to make such a mess. I really doubt Rockstar should get all the blame, unless you think the originals are shit too. I'm not really sure how much Rockstar was even involved in this.
@@WorriedcrewePCandPS Rockstars story releases are always solid and are released when they're actually ready. I have faith GTA 6 and any other future releases actually made by Rockstar will be solid. They're just such money grubs now. Only focusing on the online modes. We never got the story DLCs promised for RDR2 and GTA5. They are to blame, because they greenlit this pile of excrement to be released, and on top of that charged £70. They don't put any effort in to anything other than new story releases whatsoever, everything else is just a cash grab, and the story is just there to keep up their fading reputation
I’m known in the family as the Battlefield fan. I was so excited when I saw the first trailer for the new battlefield 2042 I literally sent it to my entire family out of excitement (none of them give a shit about the game, or know much about it other than I love it). I saw all the old video creators commenting on the trailer and kept getting more excited. After buying it I played maybe 10 hours and haven’t touched it since until a few months ago where I couldn’t find any servers or play any games with real people, just 7,000 bots… my favorite game destroyed 4 times in a row. Battlefield 4 was good until some weird update they did after it was out for sooooo long that changed so much of the game for some reason, battlefield 1 and 5 were nothings for me, 2042 was the final straw for me. Just so sad..
I think I remember reading that for some reason, the original harvest moon developers can't use "harvest moon" in the title anymore, so this harvest moon is not made by them. The original company is calling it "story of seasons" now.
Exactly. The series was developed by Marvelous and published in the west under the name Harvest Moon by Natsume but since 2012 they lost the right to publish the games but kept the license for the name. Now they abuse it by making shitty games with the name of Harvest Moon while the "real" Harvest Moon games are called Story of Seasons.
GTA Trilogy was the biggest disappointment for me this year. It was quite similar in magnitude as what I felt with last year's Cyberpunk 2077. Didn't buy either one because I do not want to support the idea of "Release Today and Fix Later " sort of attitude by these corporations.
Everytime people knock Battlefield 2042 it hurts, so bad.. I really looked forward to this one, I loved BF3 & & BF4 and was just hoping for that return to how things were, and having it on PS5 felt like it was doing to be a dream. Now that excitement has gone away, I feel I've wasted money and it just feels like there's no fun shooter to play..

@@familygamingculture7583 yeah I started playing again this year and was surprised at how well I enjoy that game and how it feels like a modern shooter still
I'm surprised Cod Vanguard wasn't on this list. But I guess that's also not surprising considering Cod has been a disappointment for years except for Modern Warfare 2019
I mean I didn't buy the game because I expected it to be a disappointing game. Axtivision needs to take a break with the Call of Duty titles. I really enjoyed MW and Warzone until they added all the black ops bullcrap and messed with the balancing. I do have to say at least it didn't release in a broken state like Battlefield, it has that going for it I guess.
I could handle the bugs in the new Battlefield game because there are always bugs in new Battlefield games, hell there are bugs in Battlefield 4 that existed since day one, what I hate is Battlefield taking on a Call of Duty playstyle, nothing about the new Battlefield feels like Battlefield anymore
That's the sad thing, 2042 was in a worse state at launch than the other battlefield games, which is saying a LOT. But then when we can finally get past the bugs, we think, "OH MY GOD THIS IS IT, THIS IS THE FUTURE OF BATTLEFIELD" then you play it and it's just turning into cod with 128 players. The disappointment from experiencing this game bug free is worse because it's such a disappointment. In the old BF games, they were really buggy, but we pretty much knew that under all of the bugs, there was an awesome game. Here, we expect that, and what we get is not that, to say the absolute least
Glad to see someone actually talked about the problems related to Nerf Legends, Werewolf The Apocalypse and Ninja Gaiden Collection... Well GTA and Battlefield took too much spotlight
Well battlefield costs more than before while delivering a broken game with way less content/functionality. Gta on the other hand is a port of shitty mobile games and thus is outclassed by the original over 15 years older games...
I counted at least 3 "for all intents and purposes" in there. That exceeds the allowable limits of the community guidelines. You still get a thumbs up, (because gaming) but thats a naughty Falcon ;p
@@drigodamus I realize it's sarcasm, I just wanted to know where you got community guidelines from. If that was something you pulled out of your delectable ass or if there was something behind it
Honestly the Golden age of gaming is over. Back then, 60 bucks got you the full complete game that you paid for. Now, you pay 60 bucks for a half assed game that developers don't even complete and release the full game over several months worth of "patches" "updates" and "dlc". Face it people, it's over.....
Falcon giving credit to Rockstar because "they are committed" to fixing the bugs is sad, and one of the reasons companies keep doing this. They are only sorry they got caught.
Tbf it looks like they have to say it and that they had some sort of advertising deal with R*. Just look how positive and how many videos they did about Trilogy Definitive Edition before it lunched
Kena was definitely disappointing....Forza was not though .....and you blink a couple times and vanguards campaign mode was over😐....I think God of War ragnarok might be the only hope for big games coming up the end of next year.
Falcon, you SHOULD take a big dump on the GTA: The Trilogy release! Far too often these games are being released in poor condition. Let’s not just pick on GTA here, but the list of released and rather unfinished or rushed games that have been coming out would be fairly large….
I miss the old days. I had the super Nintendo, nintendo 64,ps1,ps2 ect and it was nice when you where in the store knowing you're gonna buy a full game without any micro transactions. At that time i never thought it would come to this with broken games at lauch filled with dlc.
I still don't understand why most gaming companies make games that are half ass... And then they try to fix the bugs and shit or they don't do anything The only gaming company that I am respecting is Techland and that's mostly it Gaming has become so popular now but at the same time very fucking lazy to a point where it pisses me off
The constant defense force for GTA "Definitive Edition," is baffling. Going to bat for these messes just lets them keep thinking it is okay to release this garbage and pull anti-consumer stuff like pulling the originals down.
2021 was a bs year for games cause we and I mean "We". Allowed companies to get away with too much bs. "Day one patch will fix it" No gameplay: "Don't worry I am "sure".They will knock out of the park" ; "Stop being negative bro"; "Why are you hating"; The trailer/demo two months or 2 weeks before release. Shows the whole gameplay (specially from a company that it's known to not improve in that short of time): "Come on bruh, it's a beta."; "Haters gonna Hate" "Final product will be great. I am SURE of it"; How can this people be sure of anything, without being part of the project.... But we have to hope for the best but for most of the times expect the worse.
I personally feel like Cyberpunk should be on this list. I know it came out last year, but it was nominated in some game awards this year, so it seems valid to add it here.
A personal hatred i had was Far Cry 6... I have a soft spot for all the other Far Cry games, but 6 felt so empty and hollow, while also being the most cringe inducing panderfests since the first Saints Row reboot trailer! It's not for nothing that it took less than a week after release for literally no one to talk about the game, as it seems to be the consensus that the game made the mortal sin of being just plain boring... It's not so good that it needs praise, but it's also not terrible enough to make fun off... At least with games like Superman 64 and Ride to Hell: Retribution, you can have fun with just how amazingly terrible it is, where Far Cry 6 is just... nothing...
I actually enjoyed it even if the story felt quite boring and even if is not so much to do in the overworld, i found glitches and bugs funny enough to take my time and continue with the game. At least the main character speaks and we don't have just *estimated* 10 cutscenes like far cry 5 had. Try the new dlc,it makes the game better :)
Even if you said “a lot of the negative reviews for battlefield is spam”. Let’s say 20k of the 40k negative reviews on steam are spam that’s still 20k NEGATIVE REVIEWS. That’s a problem!
A lot of people are just saying that Battlefield 2042 main problem comes from bugs and glitches. Not at all!. This Battlefield has less important bugs than BFV. It's playable after 3 patches!. The main bugs have been addressed. Battlefield V was only playable after 3-4 months. The main problem with BF it's simply that it's not fun. It's boring as hell!. The maps are all flat and enemies can see you miles away. Everyone it's sniping as it's how you basically die the least amount of times. Gameplay it's non existent. If someone revives you... it's like a miracle!. Thank God the vehicles were nerfed because the were grinding all the infantry. But the vehicles are not the main problem. It's the maps!. Who designed those maps?. A 5-year old?. Someone that has never played a shooter before?. Why did they make a map kilometers or miles long?. You're playing Conquest or Breakthrough in Battle Royal maps. 500 meter distance between flags. And without covers in between. All out in the open. What the f****?. The game is not fun. At all. You have to drag yourself kicking and screaming into the game, because, well, you've spent 110 Euros or Dollars!. It feels that you've been scammed. This game will be left aside. Just like BFV did. Mark my words!. P.D. By the way BFV is a much better game. The End of Life arrived, but in a much better state.
These all suck, but then you should have made a "20 games that..." because there are plenty more to add, Deathloop is just one that quickly comes to mind, horrible, boring, lackluster.
Balan Wonderland was really dissappointing to me. I really wanted to like the game. I've tried the demo and even then I thought it might be good in the end. So I bought it and I really tried to enjoy the game... but it actually didn't let me :(
I really want to like anything Suzuki does, but I just don't think he's made anything new or amazing since leaving AM2 and at this point is kind of a dinosaur chasing a dragon.
The Creed boxing game is actually good. It's arcadey like Ready 2 Rumble, but with Rocky characters. Looking for depth in an arcade game doesn't make sense. This is a fun game that requires you to unlock characters. It's a throwback game in a good way.
When I was a teenager, getting hyped about the PS2 and original Xbox and going to "gamecrazy" and "blockbusters" and was thinking about the future of games. I never in a 100yrs would of guessed gaming would get to this point where we have the most amazing computing tech power BUT not have quality, decent, or even just fun GAMES! Literally devs are releasing WORSE versions of classic games. Devs gave up on even making a ton of genre's. Like NFL blitz, legacy of kain, Hexen 2, heretic 2, condemned, Batman, boxing, fighting, brutal Gorey games, mindless games, games you pick up and are playing with in a minute and can just veg out on games you mind numbly escape into. Fear, silent Hill, Alice, prototype, extreme sports, wacky versions of other sports, jazz jack rabbit 2, star wars dark forces, force unleashed, X-Men based off of the 90s animated series! just twisted macabre, oddities of a game creation. I feel things are so misdirected right now for most games. It's like only 2 types "succeed now" 1. Online multiplayer that has a lifespan they can milk. Or 2. A very intensively thought out story mode single player game that's almost too serious with how some of them try so hard to make us care about their story, world, characters (cough: far cry games!) Like why can't we have triple a games AND arcade games? We need to look back at the 2000s, and really get in touch with what made gaming so fun that we all fell in love with it so deeply.
I called the GTA remake being a bomb back in summer. Totally came to fruition. *That game is gaaarbage 😑 like, it should be a free or $2.99 download on Steam* 😑🤦🏻♂️
I'm surprised that you guys didn't include New World on this lost, 1million concurrent players at launch and now las less than 10k. Game is really disappointing and had so much potential.
@@philithegamer8265 It was Amazon Games first big launch, it was an MMORPG, oh btw they're launching another one, Lost Ark. I'm not expecting any more from them and I won't be playing Lost Ark.
The harvest Moon games have been on a steady decline since the original makers went off to make story of seasons. There is an entirely different set of people working on harvest Moon now and have been for a while. Because natsume owns the right to the harvest Moon title the original developers had to make an entirely new franchise now they published through xceed games under story of seasons
What he said.^ The Harvest Moon games are only Harvest Moon games in name only and if you want ACTUAL Harvest Moon games you have to play the Story of Seasons game which are the actual Harvest Moon games just without the name. Its definitely not because of Stardew Valley but more because Natsume just uses the Harvest Moon name for cash grabs. So just grab the Story of Seasons games!
Oh, I was under the impression that they just decided to rebrand 'Harvest Moon' as 'Story of Seasons' and the devs are still the same. Especially since 'SoS: Friends of Mineral Town' is basically another remake of 'HM: Back to Nature'. I didn't know that HM was still a thing so I was confused when it made the list..
They didn't "went off to make sos" nor is it a new franchise, for the original makers nothing changed, it is, was, and will be Bokujou Monogatari. All that changed is the name of the English release because they've decided to change publishers for it, the old publisher still has the rights to use HM so they made games using it, the new publisher thus had to come up with a new name but in Japan this series has the same name for decades.
Problem with Harvest Moon is that what is called "Harvest Moon" today is not the old Harvest Moon, because of legal things. The old publisher for the series now does their own games and pretends it's Harvest Moon. The old ones now go under the name "Story of Seasons", that the dev now self publishes.
Yeah any Battlefield before is 2042 is better than 2042. It's trash. I feel bad for wasting money on it and already uninstalled it like 2 weeks ago and never looked back.
You do realize that the Harvest Moon games haven't been made by the legitimate Japanese developers of the games for almost a decade now, right? Story of Seasons are the legit games of the Japanese HM devs. Natsume kept the Harvest Moon name and got new devs to work on the games for years, and they have not been able to replicate the formula well at all.
yeah, the developer for the current HM is definitely Lazy and just profiting from previous names. Story of Seasons on the other hand still retains / even made better from the o.g stuff
Thank you for not including FC6, I actually thought FC6 was part of this video. People usually hate Ubisoft's game just bcuz they hate Ubisoft. Not all, only a few people
I actually had a lot of fun with DOOM 3 VR. We all already know it's abad DOOM game, but it's a good action horror FPS. Playing in VR added a whole new level of entertainment. And it's way better than DOOM VFR.
Fun fact; none of the newer harvest moon games are actually harvest moon. The original makers of harvest moon somehow lost the name in a lawsuit, but kept the rights to everything else. All of the sequels have been called “story of seasons”, so this harvest moon was made basically by people that only owned the rights to the title. It’s not even the same studio.
Ninja Gaiden 2 is still an amazing game. The problem is the collection is Sigma 1 and 2, and the PC version launched in an incredibly screwed up state.
We should not care when full release AAA games "get better". I'm so tired of that argument of "it will get better" "they're working on it". THAT'S WHAT A BETA IS FOR! That's what early access is for. Stop paying companies to half ass the product they promise you.
Battlefield should be ashamed of themselves for releasing a game like that on launch. I'm still thankful to Cyberpunk about buying games day one and TOO NOT DO IT!! Saved 60 bucks on this and I was looking forward to it too 😔
Jurassic world evolution 2 is just the first game again but with aquatics and pterasaurs. It's a lot less fun than the first game, because Frontier made everything way too complicated.
Mainstream AAA titles have just been getting less and less fun for me recently, especially multiplayer focused games. I hate how so many games are putting in battle passes and tons of microtransactions. GOTG and Halo Infinite campaign are great though IMO
The biggest thing that annoys me about the GTA Trilogy is how half assed the physical version was. We had to wait an extra month for it and they couldn't bother to include the city maps in the box? And on PS4 you don't even get the free PS5 upgrade.
Minor gripe: A VR game can't be "Most" disappointing because it's stil an economically elite market that a lot of us can't participate in. A majority isn't disappointed in a game except for the fact they can't play it.
You can't really excuse it. Remember they said VR would get cheaper and that it was just the "early adopters admission fee?" We have gone through multiple iterations and it still is impractical (but hey, streamers have it).
It's kinda mad how far gaming technology has gone throughout the years and you'd think the devs would have more care with they're games. They just need to cope on at this point.
I'd also blame all these covid restrictions and lockdowns. How can 100 employees at a big box store like Target work through a pandemic but they move all office/company work to a work at home setting. How many of these game studios are back in the office anyway?
@@argonaut_jay many of the games from like PS2 era were absolutely phenomenal, now it's just lackluster these days. Don't get me wrong, there are good games out there that have come out over the years but there have also been some complete dumpster fires.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. They are far too faithful to the original DS games in some ways, and yet completely different in others, but neither category is good news. They kept the visual style of DP, when previous remakes remade the visuals to have their own identity and provide more details. They kept DP's single-use TMs, when every previous game since 2011 has had infinite-use TMs, which are just far more convenient and rewarding. They kept the Poketch's single button, when Platinum added a second button to scroll backwards. They kept the flawed initial teams of Candice, Volkner and Flint, who all have Pokemon not of their type specialties, when Platinum rectified this already. They kept the original story and characters and locations of DP, instead of allowing Platinum and original content to meld in and add some needed distinction, some reason to play this over the source DS games. They restrict the Pokemon roster to the first 493 species, leaving out a lot of fan-favourites (though at least it's better than Sword/Shield's random selection of who got in and who got left out). The co-Director hates the Battle Frontier, so that was left out in favour of the now-tired Battle Tower. Then there's the differences - for the third time in a row, they kept in party-wide EXP, when people have wanted a toggle for that AND a toggle existed in the 3DS games. They added following Pokemon, a feature introduced in HeartGold/SoulSilver but didn't return until Let's Go, but made Pokemon far too slow so they often fall way behind. They continue to not include a lot of useful moves for some dumb reason, this time moves like Jump Kick, Signal Beam, Return and Spike Cannon (all four of which are moves that DP had), and newer moves like Dual Wingbeat, Scorching Sand, Scale Shot and Poltergeist. Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have no reason to exist when a far better, and singular, game was released back in 2008.
