Minecraft always has some great April fools jokes, last year's literally added infinite random dimensions which was genuinely a cool feature that I wish was still around!

One of my favorite April Fool's gimmicks was when ThinkGeek would make up a bunch of fake products (complete with "in action" videos), and then sometimes turn one of them into a real product when customers expressed enough interest (such as the Tauntaun sleeping bag complete with lightsaber zipper pull).

Pretty sure you mentioned this in the previous vid but in 98, 14 year old me and my friends fell so hard for the Akuma in Resident Evil 2. We even managed the 7th all knife run and fought Tyrant so many times we learned to avoid the unavoidable claw swipe at the beginning of that fight

My favorite april fools joke this year was the new game mode in rocket league. Every car had 3 wheels instead of 4 and every time you'd try to turn your car would just flip over

The Yakuza Like a Dragon prank should be mentioned because it literally changed the course of development! Devs out out a gameplay trailer showing turn based combat expecting to be like ha ha april fools...and then reaction to it was so positive they literally scrapped their entire brawler combat system and hurried to develop the turn based gameplay that we got. Not bad for a prank! Also: totally would get strobimg hair because that would be amazing.

You should check out the Super Adventure Box in Guild Wars 2. Was originally dropped on April fools and has become a recurring event each year. Building a whole game within your game is always impressive

My favorite April fools joke was from Ubisoft’s far cry 5. They showcased a new product which was a dog toy in the shape of a gun. This was reminiscent of one of the companions in the game named Boomer, a dog who fetched guns in game. I honestly wished it was a real product that I could buy for my own dog.

The one that got me really excited and completely crushed me was the Mushroom Kingdom Hearts ad in the Game Informer magazine. If there ever was a crossover that would have been mind-blowing it would have been Mushroom Kingdom Hearts. It would be Kingdom Hearts in the Nintendo-Verse. It truly has been heart breaking that it hasn't happened. At least Sora is in Smash Bros, not the best consolation but its a step in the right direction for getting a Mushroom Kingdom Hearts.

I remember when apex did an April's fools thing where they took the p2020(weakest handgun) and gave it the ability to more than 100 damage ONLY if you where on a Zipline, needless to say there where a lot of pathfinders running around

League of Legends did their part this year. They switched the champion models ingame to npcs inside the game on random sequences when you respawn or recall to your home base. It also changes your size randomly

This is a pretty small thing but one of the the funniest in the Omega speaker ad: The mother was cooking chicken tenders and the father asked Omega to play romantic music, and it started play eScape - this is because the song's infamous for having almost impossible to understand lyrics and the first line sounds something like 'chicken tenders'.

I will always remember 11 year old me waiting the release of StarCraft 2 (it released when I was like 13). And they announced a marine tauren as a new terran unit and I was genuinely angry about it because it didn't fit the tone of the game XD Love that they hid it inside StarCraft with a side mission and that ETC had a marine skin in Heroes of the storm so many years after that joke!

That one of For Honor was so fckn funny. I worked so hard to make my Jormungandr look like a dark souls boss and went to sleep, next day im gonna play and he's 1 foot tall and his voice sounded like a squirrel. In the past, Blizzard used to do so many good ones.. but doubt we'll see them again. A few years ago minecraft did these cool random dimension portals for april fools and it was a lot of fun, hope more games do these event type april fools in the future.

I made friends a while back for a game called Polygon and we formed a clan. Acog on Glock. This past April the solo dev added the Acog on the Glock as the April fools. It was awesome!
