Just got my first 10 gauge today. I get what the hype is about. I knocked over a 55 gal steel drum at 50ish yards. Mine is a browning bps 10

We pattern our 10s at 50 yds with Ts. We get 50 to 55 pellets in a 30 in circle. Only 80 pellets in a load. We choke 18 thousands under bore which is usually a modified for big shot.

I 2 love the 10ga. All I shoot during goose season. I don't why more company's dont make them. Looking at buying a new one.

We reload our 10s and it costs less than half of new. We get the load we want. In the stores around here all the 10 ammo are 2s and BBs. If I want to shoot those, use a 12. A ten shines with big shot.

@@destinym4339 If you do decide to load for the 10, load Ts. They pattern well with a modified choke. Make felt pads for under the shot so all the shot releases. For cold weather use federal primers, they ignite the slow powders the best. If you are shooting close use your 12 and smaller shot, but the 10 with Ts will astound you for geese. What we are doing is delivering energy at a distance. Less chasing when they are dead. Save those empty hulls. Winchester hulls are the toughest and most reloads. On the last day of Sept goose season we found geese and set up. All local honkers. When they came, they all came at once. So after the first volley it was all over. When we were picking up 3 honkers came flying by going to roost. They were going to pass over about 50 yds up. When they saw me they veered over. I swung out about 20 feet in front of my target and body killed that goose with 4 Ts that went into the vitals through the meat. Smokeballed it. It was at about 70 yds. That is energy that kills. The thing is you have to be able to shoot. Almost no one leads too much.

Buy your shells in the offseason you can find some good deals. Rogers sporting goods usually has good prices on 10ga.

@Robin Alley It is legal for waterfowl in the US. Fs have a lot of energy but a pretty thin pattern. Only 60 in a load. They whistle when you hear them from a distance.whoosh.

@@colton6035 T shot is 20 caliber, F shot is 22. Ts have 80 pellets in a 1 1/2oz load.

I’m not Bobby, but I think I can help. The full body’s are tough to store- they’re expensive, big and take up space, but buy a dozen or two. Silo’s and docks have the advantage of being cheaper and much easier to store. Their challenge is they can be tough to get in the ground when the ground is frozen. That’s rare, but a risk. Maybe buy 5 dozen silos (they’re more expensive than socks) and 10-20 dozen socks. In years past I’ve hunted a lot in Canada and it was common for most outfitters to use all three decoy styles.
