Too bad my grandma's not still around... she would've really dug this! All her life she collected dolls, and started collecting Barbies way back when they released the second one... ended up having over a thousand Barbies in total. She also made tons of outfits for the Barbies and was really good at it... she'd find like, a scrap of fabric, two minutes later it'd be an incredible masterpiece! Nice memories!
"silver and pink lame" lmao Every time I watch a Talko video that girl completely mangles at least one word. Can't they get someone to do this who actually knows English?
J Pelky: Yes. Pink Jubilee Barbie's dress was made from the fabric lamé - pronounced as: laah-MAY. Although that dress is actually pretty lame by today standards. 😆
I loved the Diamond Castle one. Still one of my favorite Barbie films. I wish they'd done Alexa, too. She's the girl with the brown hair and purple dress beside Barbie, who played Liana in the movie.
So nobody is going to point out that lame is pronounced la-may when you are talking about the fabric? Ok, just me that noticed that or cares. No worries. lol
lwgoinghome - I always wonder about these kind of screw-ups; how does it get to the stage of recording the VO and *no-one* present (or even after the video's been edited - picks up on the fact that a word has been embarrassingly mispronounced? It happens so frequently! 🙄
that doll makes me want one of madame de pompadour mostly cause doctor who but still i also really want specifically that doll cause it looks so pretty like a modern day (in a sense) porcelain doll
I have the Marie doll as a gift from mum back in 2003 😆💙 I'm decorating my room to have a French Rococo Style but have a pastel theme as I've always been a lover for pastels, the Barbie of Marie will be on my Rococo shelf after my room is painted.
The only one that made sense to be that expensive was the 1959 doll. If I had the money, I would totally buy my mom that doll. She always wanted one but never got it
K Sanderson: the pink diamond barbie looked so lame! her dress wasn't that pretty, and it could have been way better than that! I bet your car looks better than that piece of plastic covered in diamonds!
I love them all! But the Marie Antoinette Barbie was gorgeous. Along with the DeBeers Barbie and the $300,000 Barbie. When I was a kid, I always wanted a Bob Mackie Barbie that they sold in the JCPenny big catalog that would come around Christmas.
My mom when I ask for a 16$ Barbie doll:NO ITS TO MUCH Other moms who are afraid of their kids hating them: HOW ABOUT I GET YOU A 350,000 BARBIE DOLL!!!
Marie Antoinette and all of the dolls from the women of royalty line were really exquisite. they were not expensive because they were covered in diamonds or gold , they were expensive because they are impeccably detailed. # 2 is just a cheap playline quality doll covered in diamonds. #1 would have been an exquisite doll even if those are faux diamonds.
me and my BFF really like the last one it is soon 21st century!!! I would wear that any day!!! It costed like as much as a house or an apartment!!! AMAZING!!
So here's the Steven Universe theory: after Pink Diamond was shattered, no one could find her shards until 2013. They got Pink Diamond's shards and made a dress out of it
I am Jun im not dumb, obviously they can, but WHY? Is the question, dumb head. Like why would they buy these? Also WHY would they dress plastic with diamond and expensive shit? Boring and wasteful.
