What to say? Because I’m a bit flabbergasted. Well, every little book is marvelous, each cover is fabulous, the insides are ingenious. I’ve never seen so many books in one video. I was bombarded with lovely ideas for covers, closures and puffy, lacy pages. I’m boggled by the clever use of vintage ephemera and stamps. I’m going to watch this video again! Thanks!
What a precious selection of books. There are some well-loved sewing enthusiasts in our history that will hopefully inspire future generations. Thank you for sharing this. The music is the icing on the cake for the filming presentation.
I don't know why, but I'm sitting here watching this and tears are streaming down my face. I have to go to work and I just wanna stay home and sew......these are so beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful treasures. I'm going to try making one for a young, single mom I know. She has a beautiful 8 yr old boy and I bet she'd love a neeedlebook made by me. Wish me luck! You are amazing!
I'm absolutely speechless at the beauty, grace, taste and design of these lovely needlebooks! Such clever ideas as well -- Thank you so very much for sharing!😍
I’ve been combing YT for needle books….never quite feeling I found what I’m looking for, but unable to name what I was seeking…and then this! Thank you! These are fabulous! ❤️
Love how you have used buttons to anchor the scissors - and the hundreds of other beautiful ideas you have shared through this video. Thanks so much Cathe! Cheers, Christine
Absolutely gorgeous! I love each and every one and the clever bits inside! I’m going to keep my eyes open at flea markets and antique stores for little bits of treasures! Thank you for sharing your lovely collection!
My Granddaughter has expressed an interest in learning how to sew. I have been looking at needle books so that I can make her one for Christmas. She can raid my fabric stash. I saw your video and I was seriously in awe. They are so very beautiful, ingenious and I loved every one of them. Thank you so much for showing them to us. That is a mountain of work and so well done. ❤️
Absolutely beautiful Cathe! You are a true artist. I especially like the way you made pockets out of the vintage satin award ribbons - so clever! I love functional art.
Your sew and tell made me cry…it embodies all my sewing ancestors who have past on, back to my great grandmother. I am currently gathering supplies to make my daughter a needle book. She is a purple girl. I will include my inspiration from your needle book/sewing kit. 💜
I hope to hold classes this year, but online tutorial....I'm not so sure. It's possible but I won't commit. So many irons in the fire. Thanks for asking. Follow me on instagram for future class info. @catheholden
Those are all so adorable and brings back memories of by gone days when women used to sew things by hand. They all are so cleverly made and crafted. Thank you for sharing!
Wow. Each one is so unique and beautiful. I especially love the use of old clothing labels, the blue ribbon from a swim meet (used as a pocket in book 5), the use of stamps from old letters, the abandoned center of a crocheted granny square in book 6, the old playing cards and post cards, & even a boy scout troop number badge. This is truly up-cycling at its finest. Thank you so much for sharing these.
Your work is absolutely beautiful. I could sit and watch your video over and over. I have made a needlebook for my daughter for Xmas, using old doilies hand embroidered by her grandmother. Your work is so inspiring. Thankyou for sharing. You have given me so many more ideas. I made a lace pocket in the back of mine and filled 5 bobbins of different colours. Your postcard with cotton would have sufficed, however, you live and learn.
Just. WOW! I will watch this over and over. So many sweet details to take in. I can’t figure out how you attached the pages. They are each very special.
Oh my goodness....those are the most darling little sewing books I've ever seen. It would be a privilege to have any of these little cuties. I love how each one has different ideas with different ephemera. Just cant put into words how much I love them... Do you have a video on how you made them?

Every detail is wonderful - the fabrics, the labels, the buttons to hold scissors, the ribbons, the little thread cards! They're all beautiful, but #10 makes my heart sing! So lovely! Wishing you a Happy New Year filled with good health and lots of creating!
My goodness you and your sister are talented beyond words. I can’t decide which is my favourite! Maybe it’s time to stop hoarding your fabric I’ve purchased and make a needy book at least in honour of this video. Just astounding ❤
Amazing, as usual. I have been putting off making me one of these for so long. You have just gave me the kick in the pants that I needed. You have gave me so many beautiful ideas. I love the button to hold the scissors. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas, and a Healthy and Happy New Year....... you Beautiful Soul !!! Deb. aka Abby Normal
Beautiful needlework well done 😍😍😍😍 I can feel the love. The style reminds me of Glorifinia using tent stitch and the same stitch but runs diagonally can't think of the name of it right now. I have 1 book on that style of needle work that I want to try out myself ❤
